Her hands shook even though she held the hot mug tightly, and as her wet hair dried, it curled tightly. It went unnoticed to her as she sat, completely frozen in the armchair, a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. She had had enough of crying and now, she was nothing but calm. As she sat there, beside the fire- she seemed emotionless. Only an hour ago, they had said goodbye to the remaining cullers and now the beautiful house remained silent.

Sighing softly to make his presence known, Edward slumped down into the sofa across from her and relaxed against the upholstery. She turned to him and smiled tightly and he returned it. All he wanted was to see that smile grow into a real one.

"I was so young. I never really even remembered them. They were just my parents friends. In my memory, they were just blurs. But then I saw his face and I knew" she frowned, green eyes pooling with emotion. "I remembered. Victoria... she used to remind me of my mother. It was as if I had two. They'd both sing to me, small songs that didn't mean anything then. How could Victoria have been so close to me... knowing all the while that her plan was to kill my mother and father? And then... she just left? Without ever even thinking of what happened to me."

"For some of our kind... the hunt is bigger than the kill." He said it with such disgust in his voice, it startled her and she frowned at where he sat. "I've always hated this... Vampirism. Being soulless but it was a gift, a gift from Carlisle because otherwise, if this was just forced upon me. I wouldn't want it." His voice was soft but pained. "I understand, Ambrosia. If you despise us now. After what my kind did." She didn't give him the chance to finish as she placed the mug calmly on the coffee table and stood, allowing the blanket to fall off her shoulders as she ventured toward him.

"Edward" she grabbed his face softly but still, his eyes remained fixed on the floor. "Look at me" so he did, a hundred emotions swirling around in the golden orbs she knew and loved. "I love you Edward Cullen. And nothing that anyone else does can change that. Would you hate all humans if one wronged you? It doesn't matter what they did, it can't change the way I feel about you. You're not them Edward. I'll love you always." She promised and sat softly on his lap. He reached his pale hands up and pushed the large curls from her eyes as he trailed his fingers softly along her cheek, awe in his eyes.

"I love you Ambrosia Hatton" he returned and pressed his lips onto her. The girl kissed his passionately, softly forcing his body backwards into the couch, her hands steadying her weight on either side of his head but she need not worry as he held her up easily. The next second, he stood in one swift motion, dragging her up along with him, pulling her easily into his arms and she giggled as she clung in tightly, winding her arms and legs around him to keep herself from slipping. "Hold on beautiful" his voice was hushed as he zoomed through the house but she merely giggled.

As Edward kicked his bedroom door shut, he pressed his lips to hers again and she responded with enthusiasm, wrapping her fingers into his hair. Edward always knew how to make her feel better, his mere presence alone calmed all the nerves that grew inside her and the kiss only built, despite all the emotions of the evening.

Only when she felt the bed press beneath her body, did she pull away in shock and he frowned before a look of realisation brightened on his face and he chuckled. Her green gaze flickered around and widened in awe at the sight of the stunning white fore poster bed she now lay upon.

"A bed?" She giggled.

"Well, I figured... I have a human now."

"Oh, you have one do you?" She giggled.

"Isn't she mine?" He teased and she laughed.

"All yours," she returned with her teeth glittering. Her curls splayed around her head against the lilac bedding. And she looked so beautiful as he looked down at her, his golden eyes glittered at the sight of her stunning smile as she laughed and dragged his lips down to hers once more.

The two of them kissed gently for a long while, pulling away only to breathe and everything was calm. Edward was only soothed by her scent, the thought of James and the upcoming fear vanished softly into the abyss of his mind as he kissed her. With Ambrosia in his arms, he knew he could protect her. She was safe now, with him.
