It was a day to be remembered in the orphanage, awakening early on Teddy's birthday, it was to discover that after two years of hiding it, Teddy and Pheobe had finally announced that they were together, choosing to ignore what other people thought because ultimately, why did it matter? Rosalind was completely over the moon about the new revelation, celebrating with a cheer, Max was seemingly uncaring, still yet to make things right with Ted after their dispute all those weeks ago and Ambrosia was happy for them. To her, it had never been a problem in the first place, they should've been free to love without judgement.

To celebrate their new relationship and Teddy's eighteenth birthday, they were going away for the weekend, courtesy of Miss Everett and the others were all heading to La Push for the day which left Ambrosia with absolutely nothing to do but toddle about the house, tidying a few things and playing with the children. It was at lunchtime when she was feeding one of the youngest children, who, despite having been there for only two weeks, was set to be adopted in just a short while, that something interesting finally happened.

"Rosia" her name was called from the front door and although it was across the house, she still recognised it to be the voice of Maggy, one of the volunteers. Following the call, leaving the child to the mercy of Miss Everett, she came across Maggy in the front sitting room, this was the neatest of the three that they had, reserved mostly for guests. Stood calmly just within the doorway was none other than Edward Cullen in all his shining glory.

"Edward" she was stumped for a second and Maggy wiggled her eyebrows suggestively as she walked away. In all her years at the home, Ambrosia Hatton had never had a visitor and here was an incredibly handsome boy who had come all this way to see her. Maggy was thrilled for her.

"Hi" he used her classic response and she couldn't help the dimpled smile that split across her cheeks at his smirk. "I thought I would drop by to see how you are" he gestured to her forehead, the plaster was gone now and all that could be seen was a medium-length line on her left temple. "And to see if you wanted to do something today."

"Oh, yeah, of course" she beamed happily and it was infectious before her eyes cast down her body and realised that she was in no fit state to go anywhere, wearing leggings, slipper boots and a hoodie which currently had a splatter of baby food across it. "Would you like to wait upstairs, I think I need to sort myself out before I can go anywhere" she smiled shyly, thinking about the fact that he would be in her room. He nodded and followed her carefully up the many staircases, taking in pictures of bubbling children that occupied the walls.

Finally, on the top floor, Ambrosia opened her white bedroom door and allowed him to enter. Looking around at the pristine living space, Edward couldn't help but feel that it was exactly like her, he expected nothing less from the girl. For some reason, Ambrosia's shyness was creeping in, she'd never had anybody in her room that didn't live with her and here was Edward Cullen, he looked out of place here but took a seat on her desk chair with a small smile, eyes glossing over the pens that were placed neatly in a line beside her bad of paper. The exact same paper, he noticed with a smile, that she had written on when she sent him that note. The note that started it all.

"Make yourself at home" she informed, looking at the fluffy carpet. "I'll be right back" that was a promise as she scooped up her clothes from the wardrobe and vanished, her cheeks calming back to their neutral tanned colour the second she was out of his eyesight. She took perhaps an unnecessary amount of time getting ready, flattening her fringe and attempting to tame her wild curls before she sighed and left, heading back to her room, ready for the day.

Edward was in the exact same place, looking at a photo frame on her desk, within the frame seemed to be a whole different world. It was a picture of a family, sat in a cafe that was decorated in warm wood colours and orange shades. On a bench seat in the picture were a couple, beaming from behind their table. The man wore a dark green hoodie, his dark hair peeking from below a grey beanie, green eyes sparkling. To his left was a woman wearing a dress of many shades and patterns, her body was slender, her hair falling down her back to her waist in slight curls, a few beads dotted through it. Between them, held up by their parents was a child, no more than three years old. The girl was stood but still didn't reach above the top of her parent's heads. Her little body was dressed in a lilac sundress with a cheesy grin on her lips whispy brown curls framing her pink cheeks.

"My family" Ambrosia confirmed, pointing at it as she approached him, looking at how his hands cradled it so calmly. He smiled at her and stood, placing it down softly. Overcome with a desire to comfort her, he wrapped his arms around her comfortingly and she melted into him. "Will you come with me? To visit them?" he frowned, before realising what she was asking, she wanted to go to their graves and he nodded, taking her hand as they left the orphanage.

Ambrosia and Edward made good of a bad situation that day, they placed flowers on the graves of Taylor and Meghan Hattons graves, visited their customary coffee shop stop, went for a brief bookstore shop and were back in the car once more just as rain started to hammer down, the sun beginning to set in the sky.

"Thank you, for today" her voice was a ghost as she looked through the window, taking in the surroundings that were currently getting drowned in rain.

"You're very welcome Rosia" he smiled and she couldn't help but return it as they sat in silence outside the orphanage, she wasn't ready to go home yet and he wasn't ready to let her. Glancing over at her, Edward's golden eyes locked with the bright green ones that played on his mind at all hours of the day and when fixed within her stare, he couldn't look away. The air became thick with tension as they stared at one another. Leaning toward one another, it felt only natural. The two had changed one another in impressive ways since they bumped into one another two months ago.

A million thoughts flew through Ambrosia's head as she stared at Edward Cullen, knowing that they were getting closer. Slowly, never moving his eyes from her, his hands reached up and took her cheeks, thumbs caressing against her cheekbones as he looked at her, almost in questioning and she nodded. Ever so slowly, he leant toward her and her eyes closed, feeling his lips press against hers as the rain hammered down on the roof of the vehicle.

The kiss was slow and passionate, the air around them softening like a lullaby as he cradled her face, lips moving with one another as though they were meant to be, dancing in synchrony for a long moment before he pulled back, her hands dropping from his elbows as his slipped from her face, the two stared at one another. The world moved in slow motion, attraction buzzing in the air and with her cheeks hot, Ambrosia smiled. Her first kiss had been magical.
