Ambrosia trundled across the parking lot early in the morning, having previously left Edward who had driven her to school. He was off discussing something with his family so she had bid a quick hello and goodbye and now headed over to Roz and Bella who was stood beside the new girls faded orange truck, it was a frosty day today, the heavy rain from the previous day had frozen into a deadly bed of ice. This was why Ambrosia was secretly glad that her Blue Beetle had died, meaning she didn't have to drive it on this dangerous landscape.

"Morning Ambrosia" Bella smiled in greeting and the girl returned it, tucked up comfortably in a thick winter coat and scarf though her cheeks still continued to glow a rosy pink. Roz kissed her sister sweetly on these rosy reds which make them blush darker.

"You're so sweet Baby sister" the ginger beamed happily, tapping her cheeks. "I'm off to find Mike" she stated and bounded off, ignorant to the fact that Ambrosia had joined the group only to stand and talk to her sister. Rosalind had had a crush on Mike Newton since they were children, that fancy never being satisfied as he was always off chasing someone who was already taken, such as Rosalie Hale, or those who were utterly uninterested, like Bella.

"Hi Bella" she greeted, knowing that she needed to expand her friendship circle, it was dangerous to rely so heavily on the friendship of a single person as she did with Edward. It was unhealthy.

"What's happening between you and Edward?" Bella beamed, she seemed to be genuinely interested and happy for the golden-brown haired girl which was surprising seeing as every other female in the school, including the teaching staff, glared at her when she was seen with him. It didn't help her attempted self-isolation.

"Really nothing, we're just friends" Ambrosia promised though even she recognised a tinge of sadness in her voice which surprised her. She was content being how she was with Edward, she adored him of course but he was a brilliant friend to her, he understood her in ways that others didn't. She succumbed to thought and Bella didn't pester her, recognising the face of contemplation she wore. The next time Ambrosia was broken from thought was when she was slammed flat in the face by reality. Many things occurred to her in one moment, making her head spin painfully.

The first thing she noticed was a high pitched squealing, almost similar to a scream in the octave it produced, it made her ears ring instantly and her brain pulse. The next thing that came to mind was the holler of her own name from all around, it was the only word that she would recognise even though not listening for it, it broke through the bubble she had put herself in. Her name was not the only thing on peoples tongues, she heard Isabella being called as well, in an odd combination, as though people weren't quite sure what to say. Isabella herself wore a mask of complete horror, body a statue.

Skidding toward them uncontrollably and seemingly in slow motion was the familiar blue van that belonged to their friend, none other than Tyler. His face was mortified as he span the steering wheel every which way in a bid for control. Ambrosia's mind span at a million miles a minute, everything around her moving in slow motion but she was frozen, her brain screeched at her to move but her muscles were tense.

Slamming her eyes shut fiercely, she felt herself being flung from an opposite direction, none too gently onto the blacktop. Her head cracked in a sound that resonated through her skull and brought nausea to her tongue, warm liquid trickled from her head, pooling around her hair on the concrete and she peeled her lashes open slightly, shocked to see the body of Freddie Cullen beside her, his arm cradled Bella and it was apparent that he had flung Ambrosia aside. Through her foggy eyesight, she saw his hand flash-forward, stopping the blue van with just his bare hands but the world was flickering in and out of recognition for the girl.

"Ambrosia" that was a voice that she wanted to hear, different from the random disjointed words that left other peoples mouths, from above, Edward dropped down beside her in the space they had formed between three different cars, none of them hers.

"Edward" her voice was slurred, mumbled and almost incoherent but he heard it, softly pulling her head into his lap with pure horror in his beautiful golden eyes. Her warm blood tainted the perfect porcelain on his hands but he was in no position to desire it as he watched her fade before him.

"Ambrosia" he tried again, shaking her shoulder softly. "Stay awake, okay? For me" he begged and she blinked rapidly, trying to do as he said but his gorgeous face was fuzzy before her eyes, darkness fogging the corners of her vision.

"Ed" she slurred and he smiled in worry, his hands gently caressing her cheeks as the sound of sirens infiltrated her already overwhelmed senses.

"Oh Ambrosia, I only left you for a second" he sighed and she couldn't help the gurgled giggle of shock that escaped her candy coloured lips as darkness finally won and she swam in it.
