《Captured By The King》Forty-three • Healing

The room was filled with growls, screams, and different voices of joy. Defeated, slaughtered, and torn into pieces, that was Seraphina's fate. No one took mercy of her deceased body as everyone destroyed her like a piece of garbage, which is who she really is.
It was so chaotic that no one noticed Felicity, dozing in and out of her consciousness. Fighting an immortal creature was not anything close to capable for Felicity's body yet with all the strength she had, she fought without backing down.
Felicity needed to be strong for herself, for the vampires, and for her mate. She took every blow and punch from the spiteful creature and despite the agonizing pain, she stood back up and did not surrender.
Thanks to all the sorceresses that taught her how to fight, she knew how to defeat Seraphina in her own art of war. Felicity didn't fight hard, she fought smarter. Knowing how Seraphina's magic works, she knew that she purposely switched her soul with Dimitrius' in an attempt to kill her.
But Felicity loved the game.
She played with her, convinced her enough that Felicity believed that it was Dimitrius who is about to end her life. Didn't she know that for the short time she has gotten to know her mate, one thing she was always sure of,
Dimitrius would rather die than kill his own mate.
The battle ended with a victory in everyone else's part excluding two dreadful monsters, Dominic and Seraphina. It was a shame they never got to know each other, the moon goddess was kind enough to pair them as a mate. One monstrous vampire and a horrid succubus which is now meeting in hell.
After stepping back, Felicity lost her senses and fell to the floor with a loud thud. Or maybe that was what she thought because instead of a painful drop, she fell into a familiar pair of arms.
Wishing she could look back at him and stare at his beautiful oceanic eyes, she sighed in defeat and leaned into his touch while slowly giving in to the stars that invaded her sight.
"Mary!" Dimitrius screamed, not knowing what was happening to his mate. His eyes landed to her neck and it was as if his words fell apart. "No, no, no!" He growled.
Mary rushed to his daughter's side and caressed her face, softly pleading for her to wake up. Meanwhile, Dimitrius shook in distress, his eyes couldn't believe what was happening.
"Dimitrius, " Katherine called out, hoping to take her brother away from Felicity. It was one of the worst things that could ever happen. No one knew how to calm down their king because he was slowly fuming with rage.
"Her mark is disappearing!" Dimitrius growled.
Was it all part of the spell that Seraphina played? Felicity's mark held the bond between Dimitrius and herself but with it, disappearing also meant all their memories fading away and worse, she could forget everything about Dimitrius.

Dimitrius didn't let any second to pass before he brought his mate closer to him and bit her neck in an attempt to keep the mark.
"Stop!" Genevieve screamed and tried to use her magic against Dimitrius' force. It was a lethal plan that he wanted to do, bite her neck to keep the bond yet it can also trigger the beast inside of him.
What if the taste of Felicity's blood triggers his vampirism, makes him thirst for more, makes him lose control and possibly kill Felicity herself.
"Dimitrius, you have to let her go, " Lorenzo growled and shifted to wolf form before pounding into the hungry beast. Dimitrius' eyes landed on the claw mark that scratched Felicity's skin because of how Lorenzo ripped him away from her.
At that moment, Dimitrius' eyes turned red and both creatures battled. Never touch a king's queen, that's one of the biggest rules. Dimitrius and Lorenzo fought, distracting themselves of the situation happening to Felicity.
Meanwhile, Amara walked towards where Felicity was. Nature was her witchcraft, she knew the human body just as well as the earth. "Here, " she whispered and held out her hand.
Hesitantly, Mary let go of her daughter's body and gently placed it beside Amara. Then, she whispered a few words, a spell to know what was truly happening.
Dea est natura,
ut responsa ad vos.
Quid est morbo eam?
She repeated this until the palm of her hand resting above Felicity's chest, where her heart is supposed to be felt like an icy cold fire.
Amara felt her neck, she felt the mark that everyone thought was disappearing. She felt the light beating of her heart, Felicity's faint pulse. She closed her eyes and felt Felicity's whole soul.
It was as if she was touching an angel's body.
No,
She felt an angel's soul.
Lub dub lub dub lub dub
Amara opened her eyes immediately. That heartbeat, how was it so loud in her ears when her hands weren't above her chest, it was resting just above Felicity's abdomen.
Once more, she wanted, needed to be sure. She held Mary's hand and placed it once more on Felicity's stomach. Both sorceresses looked at each other upon hearing it. The reason why Felicity fainted wasn't that of Seraphina's spell.
If anything, it's a blessing. A gift from the future.
Her mark wasn't disappearing, it just produced the sign of the final completion of the mating bond.
"Boys!" Odette screamed, reprimanding the childish fight of Dimitrius and Lorenzo. None of them seemed to hear her as they continued pounding onto each other.
"If you don't stop right now, I will both forbid you to see your mate."
That sentence did its job for Dimitrius. He reluctantly stepped back and let Lorenzo shift back to his normal form.
"I don't have a mate, " Lorenzo smirked while taking the final step and exciting out of the room.

"What happened to her?" Dimitrius ran hurriedly to Felicity. No one told him the reason, Mary just said, "She needs some rest."

It's already been hours since he last saw her beautiful eyes, heard her angelic voice. Dimitrius never left her queen's side not unless he needed to go to the bathroom.
All he did was treat her wounds. Despite the healing spell that Felicity's mother gave her, he still made sure that when his mate wakes up, there wouldn't be any risks of her bruises opening up and causing her pain. Slowly, he lifted each arm and wiped the dried blood with a washcloth before bandaging up some of her poorly beaten bones.
He tried everything, he even sang to her, hoping to wake her up with his non-melodic voice. Holding out his violin, Dimitrius decided to play one of his favorite compositions.
The music sounded depressing yet he played it so beautifully that the vampires who could hear his music found themselves swaying to the rhythm. Their king was truly a talented person.
"Just open your eyes, Felicity. I miss you,"
He whispered. Dimitrius didn't understand why she laid there, motionless. He couldn't get why their mate bond was so strong that as every second passes by, it gets harder to breathe without Felicity's touch.
Only if he knew the real reasons.
"It's over, you know? You defeated the evil again, Felicity, " he said with a silent laugh. He wanted her to wake up and show her how proud he was.
Felicity was so strong, she never backed down against Seraphina. She fought her without fear and Dimitrius watched everything happen before his own eyes.
Even with his mate spluttering blood, bruised, almost broken, he still fell even deeper.
"How do you do that? Have the courage to face everything that gets thrown onto your way, you're incredible as a queen, as a fighter, as a mate, as Felicity yourself, " he continued saying while his words blended with the music that echoed in the room.
"Your heart is so kind, I will never know what I have done so right to deserve someone like you, " a silent tear fell from his eye, he wasn't even aware of it.
"I always tell myself that maybe that's the reason why I have you. To tame the beast inside of me. You're an angel to all of my demons, Felicity. You taught me how to feel, how to love, despite every single creature that has looked at me in the eye and told me that I can never change."
He stared at the beauty in front of him, admiring every perfection. Dimitrius over the years has memorized every feature of Felicity's face. The cute freckles that were almost hard to see, her long beautiful lashes that curved naturally, her neck that gave the impression of confidence, everything. To Dimitrius, Felicity is perfect in every possible way.
"Thank you for showing me that I am capable of being loved, Felicity. Thank you for letting me love you. I never would have thought in a thousand years that the time would come when I'll be able to hold you, touch you, kiss you, and be the man who you'll trust so deeply to be your first."
"From the day I met you and have known that you were going to be mine, I fought every single cell in my body and force myself to stay away from you because I knew that I was no good to you but fate still led me to the auction house that night. The night when our eyes met and I knew you would pick me, I am always thankful for that night."
Dimitrius placed the violin down and held Felicity's hands, "We may have not started as normal mates would have but I have promised you since the day you gave me a chance that I will do nothing but be the best mate I could be. So just please open those beautiful eyes for me and let's continue where we left off."
He rested his head on her bed while intertwining his fingers with her. Dimitrius didn't even notice the absence of sleep that he has been having until his eyes gave up and he let slumber take over his body while he rested on the chair beside Felicity's unconscious body.
Or maybe it wasn't the best time to rest for Dimitrius because as soon as he closed his eyes, another set of beautiful hazel eyes opened, the ones that he has been waiting to see for the whole night.

Stranger than Fiction (Draft Edition)
Rewrite -> https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/55140/stranger-than-fiction 150k words of rewritten and new content, updating 3 times a day. Faith is like ice-cream. It comes in all flavors. Greek, Norse, Sumerian, Christian— just name it and it's there. Adventures, on the other hand, are like credit cards. The first taste is free, but the price only goes up from there. Family heirlooms, now those are true evil. You get burdened with them for sentimental reasons even if they’re icky. For Lukas Aguilar, it was a pendant. A small, weird metal nib with absolutely no vampiric tendencies. All he wanted was to finish the job at hand, and get on that book he had been postponing for a while now. Instead he got served with an apocalypse for breakfast, a cave full of eldritch monsters for the company and the whims of a ruined goddess for his To-Do list. Really, a simple NO from the universe would have sufficed. Acknowledgments Editor-in-Chief: Solo Starfish Artwork: Exodus

Prerequisites for Greatness (RWBY)
Jaune always knew that being a hero meant going on adventures, sometimes very far from home. He just hadn't thought he would start so early, or so far. Sadly he wasn't high level enough to learn teleportation, nor did life have an easily accessible mount option. His own two legs and an occasional donkey would have to do. Medieval setting; gamer Jaune. You don't need to know anything about the RWBY universe to read this.
