《The Whipping》Chapter 34

I stood in shock as the world appeared to blur around me. Bodies flew at each other as people ran, morphing into their wolves, causing deafening thuds and cracks as their bodies collided. More of Logan's men appeared, sprinting towards the brawl, grabbing at anyone they could get their claws on, tearing them to pieces.
I stood frozen, feeling myself swaying on my feet as Theo grabbed my hand, yanking me backwards. He pulled Emily and I away, urging us to get back inside of the house, but I refused, urgently shaking my head.
"Theo, Logan could get killed! I have to do something!" I yelled, ignoring the screams from my muscles as I stumbled through the battle, narrowly avoiding being hit by a few wolves that were fighting to the death.
"Eliza, get back here!" screamed Theo, but I ignored him, pushing past people; my small frame allowing me to squeeze between spaces much more easily.
I scanned the scene for anyone that I recognised, but the screaming and yelling was putting me off, causing panic to surge through me; my heart beat quickening.
I pushed past another few wolves, ducking under them as they clawed at each other aggressively, baring their teeth in order to intimidate the other. I studied the people around me, only to see Logan's wolf pinning down my father, his claws digging into his skin, drawing scarlet blood.
I made my way over, calling out to Logan, causing his ears to prick up. He looked up at me frantically, growling loudly as I approached, causing my father to shove Logan backwards, making it easy to escape his grasp.
"Dad, what the hell are you doing?!" I yelled as I reached them, tears brimming my bloodshot eyes.
"Eliza, you are going to get hurt! Go inside and find shelter until this is over!" replied my father after shifting back into human form, pulling his shorts back on.

Logan growled, stalking towards my father, baring his teeth, causing me to put my hand out in front of him. "Logan don't, he's my dad."
Logan's gaze flickered between my father and I, and eventually he shifted back into his human form, pulling his basketball shorts back on. "Eliza, go back inside right now!"
I ignored Logan, turning to my father, my bottom lip trembling. "Please, don't do this. There will be no more Whippings, Logan was just trying to protect me!"
My dad rolled his eyes, scoffing. "Well look how that turned out. He got you kidnapped, and he wasn't even one of the people to save you, we were, Eliza. Come back home where you belong."
"Dad, just stop please! Tell them to stop, everyone's going to die!" I yelled, gesturing to the battle was happening behind us.
"If that's what it takes for this tradition to be done with, then so be it," growled my father, grabbing Logan by the throat, causing me to gasp.
Logan kicked his legs outwards, sending my father flying backwards, hitting the grass with a loud thud, causing him to groan.
Suddenly, Logan was pinned down by two large wolves, their claws piercing his chest, causing blood to seep out and dribble down his chest. I screamed, kicking and punching them as they growled lowly in Logan's face, saliva dripping from their teeth.
Before I could swing another fist, I was yanked back by my father, his arms wrapped around my waist. I squirmed in his arms, yelling out at the wolves who proceeded to lunge at Logan, who was now shifting back into his wolf form.
My father spun me around, cupping my face with his dirty hands. "Listen to me Eliza, I cannot lose you again! Logan can't be in your life anymore. I know it's going to hurt, but this is going to be better for everyone in the long run."

"Go to hell," I spat at him, kneeing him, turning towards Logan who was now accompanied by Heather, who morphed into her large wolf, lunging at the wolves in front of her.
I watched as Logan and Heather snarled and growled, leaping onto the wolves, biting down on their necks, causing them to squeal in pain.
"Mommy!" I heard a frail voice yell, causing me to whip my head around to see Millie making her way over to us, sobbing.
"No, Millie don't!" I screamed, running forwards, but I wasn't fast enough. One of the bodies of the wolves flew through the air, hitting Millie in the process, sending her flying backwards, landing on the grass in a heap with the deceased wolf on top of her, crushing her.
"Millie!" I heard Heather scream as she morphed into her human form, running over to her daughter, pushing the large bleeding wolf off of her. Millie lay there motionless, her tiny body covered in blood. "She has no pulse! Logan, she has no pulse!"
Logan shifted back, running over to his niece, cradling her in his arms, begging for her to open her eyes. Heather sobbed next to him, crumbling onto the floor, her body shaking with desperation.
I turned to my father, who stared at the bleeding young girl in front of him, his eyes wide.
"Look at what you did!" I yelled, growling at him.
Logan passed Millie to Heather, shakily getting to his knees, and making his way over to my father, grabbing him by the shirt.
"Logan, no!" I begged.
"Look at what you did!" yelled Logan, growling in my father's face. "I should kill you right now!"
As much as my father deserved to die for what he had done, I couldn't help but think of my mother, and how distraught she would be be to live life without her mate. I couldn't do that to her.
"Please, don't," I whispered, as Logan grabbed my father by the neck, hoisting him up and choking him until his face was bright red, his eyes practically bulging out of their sockets.
He dropped him to the ground, landing a few punches across his face, blood spurting out of his busted lip and broken nose.
A shiver ran though me as I watched my own father be beaten by mate, nausea wafting through me, causing a tear to trickle down my cheek.
"Logan, please stop," I sniffled, swallowing harshly as my mate looked at me, his eyes instantly softening as they landed on me. After a few seconds, he cursed to himself, pushing my father back roughly, turning away from him and making his way back to Millie and Heather.
My father gulped, rubbing his neck in shock as she assessed the situation in front of him. "I didn't want any children to get hurt."
I shook my head at him, tears spilling down my cheeks as I watched Heather embrace her now deceased daughter, sobs racking her naked body.
"He was the one who was supposed to die for this," mumbled my father, gazing at me, his eyes wide.
"Just go," I growled, glaring at him.
My father dropped his head, nodding, making his way into the middle of the field, whistling loudly with his fingers, grabbing everyone's attention.
"Everyone just go home, this fight is over."
