《The Whipping》Chapter 5

Logan glared at me angrily, balling his fists, opening his mouth as if to say something, but closed it again, looking frustrated.
I observed my room, trying to find any thing to look at other than Logan. I didn't know how to feel. One side of me wanted to find out everything about him, and the other side just wanted him to leave and never come back. My life was fine before he came along. I had lived twenty fulfilling years without him; what made me suddenly need him?
The bond- I knew it was strong. It was pulling us together and neither one of us could stop it. Neither one of us could just leave and forget. It was always going to be there.
The agonising silence was suddenly interrupted by my front door opening, and I could hear the voices of my parents. I looked at Logan, who didn't budge. Instead, he closed his eyes, sighing. "Why did it have to happen this way?" He whispered to himself, scrunching up his nose in distaste.
Then, my door flung open and standing in the doorway was my less than pleased father. "I thought I could smell something."
"Good evening, Mr Bennett."
"What are you doing in my daughter's room?"
My father's voice was like venom, sending a chill down my spine.
"Your Alpha allowed me onto the territory."
Logan's voice held a slight arrogant tone, and I could tell he was smirking at my father.
"Why you little-," Logan was then grabbed by my father, who shoved him back, sending Logan flying into my wall. I screamed, covering my mouth with my hands.
Logan growled, pushing himself up off the ground. "You shouldn't have done that," he snarled, leaping at my father and grabbing him by the throat. Logan lifted him up, banging him up against my wall. I could see my father's face turning a deep shade of beetroot and I screamed again, but they seemed to fall upon deaf ears, as Logan only held him tighter.

Pushing myself up out of my bed, ignoring the objections from my body, I grabbed Logan's free arm, yanking it back, tugging as hard as I could. Obviously it did nothing. The tingling sensation I felt shooting up my arm was hard to ignore, and I could tell by Logan's reaction that he could feel it too. His muscles tensed underneath my hand and I heard him swallow, clearing his throat.
"Logan let go of him now!" I yelled, flailing my hands in the air, unsure of what to do.
Logan's eyes met mine, his holding anger and fury, mine, holding fear and terror. After seeing my reaction, Logan released my father, dropping him to the floor, still keeping his gaze locked with mine.
"You're crazy!" yelled my father, grabbing my arm and pulling me behind him. "Eliza, get away from him! He's a monster!"
I bit my lip, furrowing my brows. My father wasn't wrong. Logan was a monster. He wasn't going to change. This was who he was. This was who he would always be.
"Logan, you need to leave," I whispered, dropping my head in defeat.
"I came to see if you were alright Eliza. I wanted to check up on you; I didn't mean for this to happen- any of it."
Logan's voice sounded weak, as if he was going to crack any second. I didn't dare look up, knowing his eyes would be holding a mournful expression I couldn't handle right now. "Please, come with me to my pack for a day. I would just like to show you around, I want you to get to know me."
My father scoffed, rolling his eyes. "There is no way she's-"
"Fine," I interrupted, "I'll come to your pack- for a few hours at most. I won't stay. I will have a look around and then I will leave and come back home."

This was the clarification I needed. I needed to see his pack- to see how he runs it. Then, it would be easier for me to tell him to never come back. I would finally see him in his element. I would finally see the real him and I would see how fearful his pack is of him. It would further prove to me how much of a monster Alpha Logan Black was.
My father turned to me, looking at me as if I was crazy. Maybe I was, but this was something I felt I needed to do- for my own peace of mind. "Dad, it's okay. I need to do this, please let me."
"He'll kill you."
"I would never do that!" snarled Logan, glaring at my father.
"Just a few hours. It wouldn't be until I was fully healed anyway," I pleaded, avoiding eye contact with Logan.
Suddenly, Logan's eyes went wide and he reached out for my hand in worry. "Your back Eliza, you need to get back into bed."
I sighed, plopping myself on the edge of my bed, not wanting to get into it fully in case something were to kick off again. "Dad, I am an adult remember? I can make my own decisions."
"Not when the decision risks your life."
"Mr Bennett, Eliza will be safe and fully protected. There is no risk of her getting harmed...again."
Logan dropped his gaze, sadness masking him. He pushed his dark hair off of his face, his expression becoming troubled.
"I will come with you," announced my father, crossing his arms.
Logan huffed, letting out a soft chuckle as he gazed at my father, clearly unimpressed.
I shook my head, frowning. "No, Dad, please don't. You really don't need to."
"Well how do I know he isn't planning something sinister?! He might keep you prisoner on his land and never let you come home. He might keep you chained and locked up, never to see sunlight again!"
Logan turned to my father, a serious expression taking over. "Mr Bennett, I promise you none of that will happen, and if it does, I give you permission to gather all neighbouring packs and all enter my territory, then you may kill me."
