《Cupid's Arrow ✔》Chapter 34

Once I reached the place, I went through the woods towards the clearing. The walk was short and as soon as I reached the clearing, I saw Ashley, Jason, Alec, Leah, Ryan, Laura and Chase standing there with boards in their hand that read,

My eyes widen when I realized what he did. Chase planned a treasure hunt, went to all the people that are related to us. With thei help, he asked me to prom.

"So?" I heard Chase's voice asking me nervously. I snapped back to reality and saw Chase standing there, waiting.

"Yes." I said, grinning. I ran up to him, hugging him as tightly as possible.

"I knew you would say yes," Chase said, arrogantly.

I rolled my eyes. "Of course you knew." He laughed at that.

The dress. Everyone has that moment when you see a dress and you know that's the dress you want. The one. So I too found my dress. I didn't go shopping. Liam was about leave for his college and he wanted to give a gift. So he thought of giving me a prom dress, which I instantly fell in love with.

It was a simple red dress, not exactly simple, but a beautiful one, that comes till my mid thigh, a little lower. It is a sleeveless one. The material was a bit shinny, but not too much. Even though it was a prom, the prom committee decided that they want to keep the prom and masquerade ball together. So we also had to put on a mask.

With my red dress, I had paired it with a black mask that had silver beads at the outline with a feather like thing attached at the left end of the mask.

I was currently getting ready with Ashley, who decided to do my hair and makeup. I was already dressed with only makeup and hair left to do. Today was the day of prom and Chase said he'll pick me up at 6. We all decide to go together. The guys had hired a limo for us.

"Okay. Now, come I'll do your makeup," Ashley said. She was already ready. She didn't let me do her makeup, claiming that she knows what to do with herself. She bluntly put 'you don't know a shit about makeup' that shut me up quickly.

"Not too much." I warned. She rolled her eyes and began.

It took more than half an hour for her to do my makeup. She didn't let me see it. After makeup, she did my hair. She curled my hair and pinned the front hair to both my side, leaving the back open. Once she was done, she let me see. I gasped at how beautiful I look. My makeup was simple; light and natural but with a dark red lipstick. My hair was not exactly curled. It was straight with soft waves. It really looks good on me. My blackish- brown hair came to my waist.

"Wow." Was all I said.

"You look so stunning. Chase is going fall on his knees and confess his undying love for you."

"He already has," I reminded her. She shrugged, smirking.

"Come on. It's 6 already." She said. I look in the mirror once again, before putting on my black heels.

After we both were completely ready, we linked our arms together and walked downstairs. Mom and Dad were at the bottom of the stairs, waiting with a camera in hand.

"Oh my, you both look so beautiful." Mom gushed. I blushed, looking down as Ashley thanked her.

All too soon, we heard a knock on the door. Dad stood up and went to open the door. Chase stood there in black tuxedo. Can I tell you how hot he looked? It looked as if he has just walked out of a fashion magazine. He had a red rose in his hands with a box. His hair was perfectly gelled from his usual messed up.

A hand reached to shut my mouth. "You might catch a butterfly." Chase whispered, coming close to stand next to me.

I didn't know that was I checking him out. I blushed at being caught. He chuckled lowly. Slipping his hands around my waist, he pulled me close.

"You look so beautiful," he said, huskily. I blushed the color of my dress.

"Picture time," Mom squealed. I notice Jason standing next to Ashley. Ashley looked beautiful in her own white dress.

We took many pictures with different poses. I took some with Ashley and Jason and many with Chase. Mom wouldn't let us go, but I managed to pull everyone out, not really. We pulled in the car and made our way to pick the rest.

After picking everyone, we ate something at diner and left for school. It was prom plus masquerade ball, so there is going be a prom king and queen. I think the prom king will obviously be Chase. And queen, Ashley. I wouldn't want Megan to be the queen. I don't want her near Chase. Call me possessive, but I have to get what's mine.

The moment I entered with Chase, his arms went around my waist and we received a lot of looks. From lot, I mean a lot. Some were awing while some were glaring. Many girls were drooling over Chase. I moved closer to him, not liking the stare he got.

"Jealous, are we?" He chuckled.

"Yes." He raised an eyebrow. "I don't like the way girls are practically undressing you." I mumbled.

"And I don't like the way guys are looking at you," he said. A hint of irritation in his voice.

"Don't worry. I'm all yours." I smiled up to him.

"You better." He moves down for a swift kiss.

After our little moment there, we moved inside. The hall was pretty full, with all our standard people there. Leah and Laura looked beautiful too. They were, of course, with their boyfriends.

"Care to share a dance?" Ryan asked. There was no answer for a moment. I looked up to see that he was asking me.

"Me?" I asked, incredulously.

"Yeah you, Chloe." He said, rolling his own eyes. I looked at him for a minute, blinking. I looked Chase who was looking at Ryan, questioning.

"Why?" Chase asked with a hint of annoyance.

"Can't I dance with my friend?" Ryan shot back.

"You have a girlfriend." Chase stated.

"And I want to have a dance with her best friend." He looked back me, hands held out. I took it, smiling.

He led him to the dance floor. Placing my hands on his shoulder, he placed his around my waist. We started swaying to the music.

"Is there a reason why you asked me for a dance?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Do I have to have a reason?" He asked. I nodded. He sighed. "I want to know if I should follow Laura to college. Our senior year is going to begin soon and we have to fill out our college applications. I want to be prepared for that now. Will she get angry if I follow her?"

What?

"You want to go to the same college as her?" I asked.

"Yeah." He nodded. "I really like her, it could be love."

I smiled. "For all I know, she might, she might not. I think you should talk to her about this."

"Yeah. I guess you're right. No wonder Chase likes you." He said, smirking.

I blushed, red. "Yeah."

He chuckled. He was about to say something, but was cut off by Chase. "Can I have my girlfriend back?" He asked in irritation.

"What if I saw no?" Ryan asked. I bit back my smile on seeing how jealous Chase was getting.

"Ryan." I heard warning in Chase's tone. Ryan let go of me. Walking back to Laura, not before winking. I laughed.

"The hell is wrong with him." Chase muttered. He turned towards me, pulling me flush against him. Keeping a tight hold on me he whispered, "What was going on here? I didn't like the way he was holding you."

"Isn't he your friend?" I teased.

"Yeah, but one can't help if my girlfriend is so beautiful." He said, angrily.

I rolled my eyes at him. My hands went to his neck. "He was asking something about Laura."

"Sure." He muttered, sarcastically.

I sighed. "I mean it. He wanted to know what will be her reaction if he went to the same college as her's."

The expression on his face soon changed. He eyes softened. "I'm going to kill him." I laughed, shaking my head.

I tip-toed and kissed him. He kissed me back, but before we could continue, we were separate by the voice of the student council. I took a step back while Chase stood next to me, a hand on my waist as we faced the stage.

"Today, we have our prom, so there's ought to be a prom king and queen." She began. Clapping and shouting of excitement was heard. "So for the prom King," she said and looked back down at the envelope. "I have the name in here."

She opened the envelope and read the name. "The prom king for this year is," she paused for a dramatic effect. "Chase Mason."

I turned to Chase with a big smile. I knew it would be him. He grinned down at me. I pushed him to go on the stage while clapping. He went up to the stage, putting the crown for king and stood near the student council.

"For queen we have," she opened the other envelope. Ashley was so going to be it. I grinned knowing that it was going to be the two people I love the most. "The queen is," another dramatic effect. "Chloe Wilson."

You've got to be kidding me!

I stood there mouth open. Me? How is it possible? I looked as everyone clapped and shouted for me. Looking at Ashley, she was grinning like a mad woman. Isn't she sad she didn't get to be the prom queen?

Go, she mouthed. I nodded and made my way to the stage. Chase looked happy to have me as his prom queen. While going, I notice the glare I was receiving from Megan.

Ah! Take that girl.

Once I was next to Chase, crown on my head, the announcement continued. "Now the dance of king and queen, everybody."

The dance floor was cleared for us as Chase took my hand and headed down. On the dance floor, Chase pulled me close.

"Would you believe that?" I asked, looking straight into his eyes. "Us together after New York."

"Never in a million years." Chase said. "But we are and always will be."

I wouldn't change a thing.
