《Cupid's Arrow ✔》Chapter 31

I stood there. Not moving. Baffled. The lights switched on again. But the question is Why? Why did he do so much for me? What is so special, that he loves me? I'm not underestimating myself or feeling pity, but still.

I turned to look at him. When I saw him, I know he's being honest. His eyes look sincere. These questions can wait. For now, I'm going to give him the answer to the question he asked.

"Yes. Yes. I will be your girlfriend." I jumped on him. My arms around his neck while his on my waist, pulling me impossibly close. He buried his face in my neck and exhaled. I shivered, felling his hot breath on me.

He pulled away and grinned at me. "You made me happy."

"I'm glad to." I smiled back. He pulled me in his arms again. I sighed and rested against them. I always wanted this. I'm getting this. I'm happy again. Like Emma wanted. I love him, but I'll tell him when the right time comes.

We heard claps and whistle around us, knowing it is none either than our friends. I laughed while Chase chuckled. "Idiots."

We drove back home and he dropped me in front of my porch because Liam came out and stood like a bodyguard, not letting him touch me. I asked what is he doing since he already approved. He answered that it's his duty to make sure that this boy doesn't touch me. I looked at him as if he had gone crazy. He just shrugged and stood there.

I gave Chase a kiss on his cheeks. After saying goodbye and a promise that he'll pick me for school, I went inside with Liam hot on my heels. Where ever I go, he'll follow me. It was starting to get on my nerves.

Frustrated, I turned on my heels and glared at him. He only gave an innocent smile. "What do you want?"

"Nothing."

"Spill."

"How was your date?" He asked.

"Best date ever." I said and smiled giddily. All the frustration ran out of the window.

"Okay. Good. Do I have to, you know..." He trailed off.

"No, you don't have to remove your big guns that you claim you have," I said sarcastically.

"You know I'm just looking for you, right?" He asked, softly. I looked at him in guilt. Since the time he came home, I've never made time for him, except for the walk we went to. I never asked him about his life.

I lowered my head in shame. "I'm sorry, Liam."

"What for?" He placed his finger on my chin, raising it.

"I never asked you about your life. From the time you're here, it's just you taking care of me. And I didn't even ask you anything," I explained, frustrated with myself.

"Woah, hold there, young lady. I'm your brother. It's my job to protect you. Not only job, but I love you to my life. So never I mean, never think like that again," he said and placed a kiss on my forehead.

"But."

"Nope. No, buts. You had amazing time with Chase." I blushed when he said his name. Oh god! I'm turning into a love struck puppy. "You guys didn't do any dirty deeds, right?" He asked, going into an overprotective mood.

I shook my head. "No." I said.

"Why do you sound unconvincing?" He narrowed his eyes at me. I giggled and shook my head, again.

He sighed. "What am I going to do?"

I hit the back of his head and said, "Nothing. For now, I suggest you go to your room and wait for me."

He gasped dramatically, shaking his head vigorously. "Chloe, you're my sister. That's not allowed. I won't ever do that."

I looked at him in confusion, wondering what is he talking about. When I understood, my eyes popped out. The hell?!

"Liam, you are an idiot!" I shouted at him. "I didn't mean like that."

"You're too slow," he mumbled. "Well, you don't have a brain like me, so what can we say."

I hit his chest once. "Shut up."

With that I went to my room to change. Smiling, I opened my room door, not looking around.

"Seems like you had a nice time."

I jumped up and looked at Chase who was sitting on my bed. "What are you doing here? Liam's just next door." I hissed at him.

He shrugged. "I missed you."

"We were together just a few minutes ago," I said with a raised eyebrow.

"So? Can't a boyfriend miss his girlfriend?" He raised his eyebrow. Girlfriend! I like the sound of it. I blushed and looked away. He chuckled and stood up.

"You can."

"I know." He said, pulling me close to him. I could feels his breath on my face. "Can I have my goodnight kiss?"

I nodded my head, eyes wide. He smirked and leaned closer. Our lips meet, exploding fireworks in my stomach. I always felt this way whenever he kissed me. I moved my lips against his, while he was holding me closer to him by my waist. After a few minutes, we broke apart, panting. He kissed my forehead, smiling.

"I'll see you tomorrow, girlfriend?" He asked.

"Of course, boyfriend." He smiled once again and jumped to his window.

After changing, I went to Liam's room to talk to him. Even though, he said it's fine, I want to end my day perfect. And talking to my brother was the best way I could end my day.

I went to his room to see that he was already changed and I guess was waiting for me.

"I'm guessing he was there?" He asked, smirking. Damn him!

I rolled my eyes and jumped on the bed with him. We stayed up talking late. He told me about that girl who he liked and that he talked on the phone with her, after I gave him some advice. He seems happy and told me more about his college life. I was really happy to see his eyes lit up when he talked about his friends. I don't know how long we stayed up talking, but I fell asleep next to my brother, who was holding me like a baby.

There and there, I knew, everything happens for a reason. But to make life more fun, we need to have fun, even in ups and downs.

**

The following day, I met with Chase, but also spend time with Liam because he was soon going to make his way back to college. Something with exams, but I'm sure it's not entirely true...

As for Chase and me, we don't act like all lovey-dovey like most people do when they enter a relationship. We are a couple, but also friends. Things changed, but not entirely. I still feel those sparks whenever he's near me or kisses me. I don't know what's going to happen when we go back to school, which is today.

I'm getting ready for school, not knowing what to wear. I mean, since Chase and I are together, I want to make an effort for once to look good when I walk with him. Then again, I don't know if he wants me to think that way or wants just the plain old me.

I walk in my closet and throw the dresses around, not knowing what to wear. Frustrated, I grip my hair and sigh.

"Trouble, princess?" Chase called from his window.

"No." I said.

"Sure," he replied, sarcastically.

"I just...I don't know what to wear," I grumbled.

"Don't wear anything. I'm fine with it," he smirked. I turned and glared at him. "Wait. No. I just want to keep this don't-wear-anything fiasco for myself. Don't want anyone to take or see my girl, you know."

I blushed when he said 'my girl'. I really like the sound of it, too. "Not helping."

"Chloe, wear anything. You look good in wearing anything," he replied, sincerely.

"But I want to look good for you," I whined. There I admitted. What's wrong with me?

"You don't have too."

"I want to."

"Well, I don't care. Wear anything you want. You still look beautiful," he shrugged. I sighed.

"Fine."

"Okay, then. I'll meet you down soon." With that he walked away.

I showered and chose my black skinny jeans with a nice black and white top with half sleeves. It was fit from the top, not too tight, but a proper size and flared a little from down. All in all, I was happy with my outfit.

After I was ready, I went downstairs to have my breakfast. I said goodbye to my parents and Liam and made my way out. I saw Chase leaning against his car, waiting for me, shades covering his eyes.

As soon as he saw me, he removed his shades, looked at me up and down and nodded his head in approval.

"You clean well," he said as I neared him. I chuckled, shrugging my shoulder. He stood up and pecked my lips before opening the car door for me.

I really can't wrap my head that I have a boyfriend, and that too Chase. We are going to entire school holding hands. One thing is for sure that I'm going to receive a lot of death glares.

We drove school in no time. I was kind of nervous, even after knowing that Chase has no problem with people knowing about us. I mean, we were friends already so it shouldn't be a problem. I don't know why I'm all nervous. I took a deep breath and got out of the car along with Chase.

He came to my side, taking hold of my hand. We walked through the parking lot with our hands intertwined. I could feel everybody's eyes on us, or me. As soon as we entered, I got attacked by Ashley, who I suppose was already waiting for me.

"Oh god! You're finally together," she squealed, looking at us. Jason came from behind and pulled her away so we could have some space.

"Yeah. Finally, someone man'd up and stopped being such pussy," Ryan teased.

"Yeah. What about you and Laura here?" I asked, defending my boyfriend. "Have something to share?"

The smirk instantly fell from his face while Laura blushed. Blushing, huh?

"Chloe!" She exclaimed.

"What?" I teased. She huffed, looking away. Ryan kissed her cheeks and smiled at her. Aw, they are so cute.

"Hmm, someone is coming for someone's defense." I heard Leah chuckle.

"Leah? Do you have something to share?" Chase asked, slipping his hands around my waist. "You too, Alec?"

"Don't drag me into this," Alec said. I laughed at our friends antics. This wasn't so bad. Four bestie dating the other four bestie.

"Come on. We'll get late for class," Jason spoke, taking Ashley with him.

Chase walked me to my class, but stopped me from entering. I gave him a confuse look. All I got was a smirk in return. He leaned down and kissed me in front of my class door. I think the chattering inside stopped, but I'm not sure. I focused on the kiss. We broke the kiss because Chase had to go to class too.

He pecked my lips once again, before leaving. I entered the class and all the attention was on me. It was kind of uncomfortable. I tried to ignore them as I took my seat.

"Are you and Chase dating?" A girl from my left, asked.

"Yeah." I answered.

"Well, I have to tell you that you guys look cute together," she gushed. Okay? I wasn't expecting that. But it's good.

When lunch time came, I noticed Laura's behavior changed. She was quiet, too quiet for that matter. She was even maintaining her distance from Ryan. I wanted to dismiss it, but I couldn't. I think Ryan noticed it too, because he kept asking if she's okay. She nodded her head, but didn't say anything.

I excused myself as I wanted to go to the washroom. After I finished my business, I was about to leave when I heard voices. That's when everything made sense.
