《Cupid's Arrow ✔》Chapter 26

I heard voices around me and the beeping sound. My head hurts like shit and my throat needs water. I tried to open my eyes, but they felt heavy. I could hear sounds and people around me talk, but all I could see was darkness.

I slowly tried to open my eyes again and was blinded by a sudden light. I closed my eyes again and blinked a few times. I opened them again and looked around. I saw Liam and Chase standing a little far away from me.

"L-liam? C-Chase?" I called them. My throat was too dry for any word. They snap their head towards me and rushed to my side.

"You alright?" Chase asked, looking concern.

I nodded. "H2O."

"What?" Liam asked, looking confuse.

"Water," I deadpanned.

"How am I suppose to know? Can't you say like a normal person? I think you hit your head somewhere," he tried to defend himself. I chuckled and shook my head. He gave me a glass of water and I chucked it down. It felt good. The water really helped my dryness.

"So? Are you fine?" Chase asked. I blinked at him. He raised an eyebrow at me. I blinked, yet again. "That's creepy."

I sighed. What will happen to this generation. "I'm in a hospital. Lying on a hospital bed. What do you think?" I gave him a sarcastic reply. Liam snickered at that.

"Can't you simply say yes or no?" He asked in irritation.

"No."

"Was that hard?" He asked. I stuck my tongue out at him. "Real mature."

"I am," I argued.

"Yeah. I saw that," he replied, flatly.

"I really am," I defend.

"Yeah, sure." He shrugged.

"You can't talk to me like that. I'm the patient here," I said laid back down. "I'm hungry, get me food," I shooed him with my hand. He chuckled. I narrowed my eye at him. "What's so funny?"

"You are." He smirked at him.

I growled. "You're irritating me."

"Glad I could help," his smirk widened.

Before I could throw something at him, Liam stopped us. "Guys, guys. Relax. Chloe, you need rest. Chase, let her relax, then you can continue with your bickering." He smiles amusingly at us.

"Fine by me," Chase shrugged. I glared at him and didn't reply.

"I'll come in few minutes. I'll call mom and dad while Chase, make sure she stays where she is." He nodded and left.

I puffed my cheeks and pouted. "Go away."

"Nope." I pouted even more. "Don't pout. It's forcing me to kiss you."

I snapped my eyes at him. "What!?"

He sighed and came closer towards me. He places his hands on either side of me and leaned forward. "I said, if you don't stop pouting, I might just do this." With that he placed his lips on mine. The kiss was gentle. I kissed him back. He broke the kiss and leaned back. "See, we can do it more often."

I blushed and pushed him away. The beeping was loud enough for him to hear. He laughed and took a seat next to my bed. "I hate you."

"Love too." He replied. I groaned and stuffed my face in my pillow. He laughed and pecked my forehead.

There was a faint crack of the door opening. We turned around to see mom, dad and all our friends rushing in.

"Baby, how are you?" Mom asked, worried.

"I'm fine. Just tired."

"Okay. Take rest. Liam went to get you food. Eat and then sleep," she said, sternly.

"Can we talk until Liam comes up," Ashley pleaded. Mom sighed, but nodded. Dad kissed my forehead and trailed behind mom.

"Are you fine?" Ryan asked.

"I'm fine, really. Just tired and a little headache," I replied.

"Oh! But why are you here? What happened to you?" Leah asked, frantically.

I sighed. "I..uh..I have panic attacks." I said and looked down. I intertwined my hands together and placed them on my lap.

"What!?" Laura jumped. All of them looked shock, except for Chase. I guess when he came, Liam must have told him.

"Yeah, well..." I trailed.

Ashley sighed. "That's why we can't tell anyone about it. I was expecting such kind of reaction."

"You knew?" Jason asked in disbelief.

"Well, duh! She's my best friend." She rolled her eyes at him and winked at me. I sighed and shook my head. This girl!

"So, now what are you going to do?" Alec asked. Now it was my turn to look at him in disbelief.

"She's going to rest, duh!" Ashley replied, again with a dramatic eye roll.

"Geez! Women control your inner feelings," Jason said. Ashley scoffed and came towards me.

"Yeah?" She said, angrily. "Fine then. I don't want to talk to you. I'll tell Liam that you hurt me."

The expression Jason had was priceless. "What? Baby, I was just kidding."

"Whipped," Chase coughed.

"Yeah?" I mimicked Ashley. Chase looked at me and narrowed his eyes. Right on the time, Liam walked in with food in his hands. "Liam?"

"Yeah?"

"You said Chase to look after me until you come, right?" I asked him and batted my eyelashes.

"Yeah?" He said, slowly and looked at Chase.

"He didn't. Because of him my head hurts even more." I faked few tears and blinked continues.

Liam rolled his eyes and muttered something under his breath. Something like 'drama queen' I guess. I smirked at him. He knows me too well.

"I didn't." Chase threw his hands in the air. Laughter was filled in the hospital room.

"When is she allowed to leave?" Leah asked.

"Tomorrow, probably. But if they are allowing her to leave, then we have to make sure she takes care of herself. Bed rest for two days, atleast," Liam explained and put the food on the table beside my bed.

"What about school?" I asked.

"You're not going." His statement was firm.

"But I can't miss class," I argued.

"Ah! Little Miss Nerd is back," a voice said. We turned towards the door to see Beth standing there with a big grin.

"Beth!" Me, Ashley, Laura and Leah exclaimed. I wanted to get up, but one fierce look from Liam and I sat back down.

She came in and hugged me. "How are you?"

"I'm fine, but how did you know?" I asked.

"That would be me," Chase said. I looked at him, confused. How does he know her? "She called your phone earlier. I picked up, so I told her you are here. I hope you don't mind." There, I got my answer.

"I don't mind," I shook my head. To be frank, I'm relieved.

I think Chase saw relief in my eyes because he leaned towards my ears, "Don't worry, I don't like her. I have my eyes on someone else." His breath tickled my ears as a shiver went down my spine. I looked around to see if anyone saw this, to my luck no one saw this, except Ryan because he was now smirking at us. Blush rose to my cheeks and I avoided his stare. Chase chuckled from next to me. I glared at him to shut up.

I talked to Beth for a while, but then later Liam came in and ushered everyone out, so I could rest. I'm glad because I'm quite exhausted.

I was back home. Home sweet home. It's been two days since I was discharged from hospital. I sighed and fell on my bed with a thud. Oh! My bed, so soft and bouncy. The hospital beds aren't comfortable at all. I looked around in my room to see everything as it is.

You weren't in your room for a day or two, not a year or century. Stop being so dramatic, the little voice in mind, scowled. I rolled my eyes. She doesn't know how it feels to be in a hospital bed. Well, actually she does...wait nevermind.

I sighed and closed my eyes and snuggled closer in my bed. I don't know when I feel asleep, but it wasn't a good sleep; a nightmare.

I woke up with jolt, startled. I blinked and looked around to see I was in my room. I sighed in relief. I washed up and went downstairs.

"Ah! Looks like the sleeping beauty is finally up, huh?" Dad said as he saw me coming down. Liam snickered, not removing his eyes from the TV where Chase and he are playing. Guys and their games, I won't understand a thing. It's good to see that Liam got a company. Not the company I was expecting, but a company, nevertheless.

"Mom?" I called.

"Yes? I'm in the kitchen." I followed the smell of my favorite cookie and reached to her. I saw Mom making cookie. My stomach grumbled. I smiled sheepishly at her and took one piece of cookie. I moaned as the favor invaded my mouth.

"This is so good," I replied in between my eating. She smiled, proudly.

I took some cookie in the plate and jumped from the stool and went out. I sat on the couch next to Dad, who is currently on his laptop. "What are you doing?"

"Work. I missed a day and took a day off," he said, not removing his eyes from the screen.

"Did you take a day off today?" I questioned while munching my cookie. He nodded.

I turned towards the aliens. "I'm bored." All I got was an hmm from them. "I'm serious."

"So are we," they said in unison.

"Oh man! This is so unfair," Liam whined and threw the controller.

"Yes!" Chase shouted and pumped his hands in air. I rolled my eyes and ignoring them. Liam took a cookie from my plate and stuffed the whole thing in his mouth.

"Hey! You can't do that," I swatted his hands as he tried to take another one.

"I'll take that." Chase took the last piece of cookie.

"This is not done," I shouted and ran in the kitchen with Liam and Chase trailing behind me. "Mom, they ate my cookie." I went towards her as she turned around. I went behind her and hugged her from behind and kept my head on her shoulder while glaring at the boys. They came and sat on the stool.

"Boys?" Mom scolded.

"Men." Both of them replied.

"Act like one," I said and poked my tongue at them.

They raised their eyebrow at me. "Real mature."

I rolled my eyes, again. "I'm bored. I want to go out."

"You're not well." Came from Liam.

I scoffed at him. "You're allowing me to go to school, but I can't go out?"

"That's different." Came from Chase.

"How's that different?" I came from behind mom and placed a hand on my hips.

"You act mature in school. For your reputation." Chase shrugged.

"What do you mean?"

"She's so dense," Chase said to Liam.

"Tell me about it," Liam answered back.

"Hello? I'm here. In the same room," I sarcastically said, waving my hand. They shrugged and ate the cookie mom gave them.

"Where do you want to go?" Liam asked, resting his head in his palm while leaning on the kitchen counter.

"Club," I said, excitedly.

Chase scoffed at me. "Yeah, right."

"Don't even think about it." Liam joined him.

"What? Why?"

"You're still a kid," Liam said.

"Are you kidding me?" I threw my hands in the air. They shrugged, yet again. "Then what?"

"How about we go for a movie?" Liam suggested. "I haven't seen a movie in theatre since forever."

"Yeah, we could do that," I grinned. They nodded in agreement.

I ran upstairs to change. "Slow down," Liam shouted. I dismissed him and went to my closet. Since it's just a movie, I think something casual will do. I rambled through my closet and removed a pair of shorts and an off shoulder t-shirt. I brushed my hair and applied my lip gloss. No makeup needed. I wore a flip flop and went downstairs.

"I'm ready," I yelled. I headed towards the front door and called Liam.

"I'm coming. I'm coming," I heard him shout. He came running down the stairs. "We're taking my car. Chase might be waiting outside. Let's go."

We met Chase outsides and drove to the nearby theatre. We decided to watch Avengers, since I knew they won't watch any chick flick. Actually, neither would I.

I went to get the popcorn while Liam and Chase waited for me near the entrance. "One large popcorn and three cokes."

I gave him cash and took all the content with my two hands. When I neared them I saw something unusual.

"I want you to watch the movie with us." A familiar high pitched voice said.

"No, we already are three. Thank you." Liam tried to be polite, but unfortunately couldn't. I don't blame him. Like sister, like brother.

"Who might that be?" She said, irritated.

"Me," I said, sweetly.

"Chloe," she forced out.

"Megan."
