The house was quiet, very quiet. The kids no longer played and giggled. No sound came from their little feet like it used to when they ran around the house. No one dared make a sound especially around the heartbroken Omega.

He'd glare even at his own children and scold them to either go to bed or stop playing around the house. He'd avoid conversations with Mrs Kim and try as much as possible to keep everyone away from him.

It could be said that Jimin was locking up his heart. The Omega had taken time to reflect on his past and came to the conclusion that he'd been too nice and too easy for people. He'd been too good for everyone and after much deliberation, Jimin decided to be a little tougher, a little bad, a little strict, just a little hard to get through.

Most of all, he had to be strong in other to take care of his kids alone, since their father decided to be a coward. There was no need to stay indoors and cry all day over an Alpha that wasn't ready to build a family with him.

"That...that fool. Leaving this pups for me to raise alone... fucking bastard". The Omega grunted as he hung dry cleaned clothes in the closet.

Jimin was extremely tired that evening after returning from work. He also had to cook dinner, arrange the kids room and do laundry, then he'd bath the kids and put them to sleep. Quite a lot for the Omega to do alone so he took out his frustration by cursing at Taehyung while doing the work.

In the middle of hanging the clothes, Taemin ran into Jimin's bedroom giggling. He held his Mama tightly and hid behind his legs. Jimin was confused until he saw Maya run into the room giggling just like her brother.

They were playing hide and seek but that unnecessary laughter and playing got Jimin angry and he growled at them.

"Stop this nonsense this minute!" The omega's voice came out scary causing the kids to flinch.

Maya bent her head and bit her lips trying to stop herself from crying. Taemin stepped away from Jimin and walked slowly to Maya. The pup was going to burst into tears any second as his eyes stung.

The Omega would have softened on seeing his kids hug each other so tightly as if they were all alone in this world but Jimin thought he had to be strict to stop the kids from misbehaving.

It was enough that he worked his ass off for them, so they better be disciplined and well behaved because he was not ready to raise troublesome children.

"You did your homework right Maya?" The Omega asked in a stern voice.

"Yes Mama". Maya answered shakily, not attempting to look at the angry omega.

"You had dinner, you watched TV, you had a bath, you had every damn thing. Then why can't I have some peace and quiet? Why are you two running around the house and barging into my room with your silly giggles? What's funny?... I'm asking you, what's funny?" The Omega raised his voice.

"Nothing Mama. We're sorry Mama". Maya sniffed.

"Sorry Mama". Taemin hugged his sister tighter. The pup never liked seeing Jimin get angry, it was a painful sight.

"I have to put you two sleep all the time huh? You can't reduce my workload huh?" Jimin continued scolding his kids until Mrs Kim entered the room and gently took them away.

Jimin slammed the door behind them and in that moment he realized that he had gone too far. He never scolded his kids that way before especially his little soft Taemin who wasn't as strong as his sister. The boy would probably present as an Omega and clearly, getting scolded was one of the biggest emotional triggers for Omegas.

Jimin slid down the door and pulled his hair, sobbing and feeling bad about his actions. Was this the kind of person Taehyung had turned him into?

Was this the real Jimin or did the Omega get lost at some point?

Jimin surely lost himself while looking for love and he had to live with it. He had to get used to this stranger who was controlling his life. A version of himself that shouldn't have ever existed.

The Omega didn't bother to continue arranging his closet anymore. He just went straight to bed and hid himself under the duvet.

While all these happened, there was a pair of eyes watching sorrowfully from the window. Those eyes had always been there to see the Omega wake up and go to sleep, to watch the Omega cry secretly, to watch the Omega bite his lips when he was overwhelmed.

The wolf ran up to Jimin's window and swiftly jumped into the room. He walked to the sleeping Omega and gently pulled down the duvet. Jimin's eyelashes were wet, meaning that the Omega had cried himself to sleep.

The Alpha stared at Jimin then he gradually put his nose in the Omega's neck to breathe in his scent. Jimin stirred in his sleep when he felt the Alpha's cold nose and the furs brushing his skin.

Jimin felt like he was in a dream but this dream seemed almost real. He leaned into the familiar warmth and the Alpha had no choice but to lay beside him.

"Alpha". Jimin mumbled as he sank his face into the Alpha's body.

The wolf's ears perked up immediately and he was ready to jump off the bed and run away if Jimin was going to wake up.

"Alpha... don't leave me". The Omega said out loud and started turning uncomfortably on the bed.

The Alpha quickly got off the bed and ran back into the forest leaving the troubled Omega. Jimin woke up immediately, sweating and panting like he just had a nightmare. His nose flared up and he started sniffing around to make sure his senses were not playing pranks on him.

He just had a dream about Taehyung returning home and cuddling him but why did it feel so real and why did the room smell like Taehyung. Jimin took fast steps to the window and looked as far as his sight could go.

The Alpha was standing at the entrance of the forest and his eyes were fixed on Jimin's eyes when the Omega looked outside the window. Jimin saw him and it felt like his heart was going to burst. They stared at each other for a few seconds. Words couldn't leave the Omega's mouth as he watched his Alpha run off again.

No matter what happened, Jimin couldn't deny that he was still helplessly in love with Taehyung. He was stuck in love like a fool. It wasn't a feeling he could simply let go of and he felt stupid for being too weak to let go. The Alpha may have been an asshole but Jimin wasn't that kind of person to hate or bear grudges. No, he was just too good for the world. Literally, he was.

But after crying and hoping and praying that the Alpha would return, that his family would be happy and complete again, Jimin would wipe his tears and wear his big omega pants to start the day and no one could tell how much hurt he was going through.

Since Taehyung left, he had been attending therapy sessions for Alphas who lost their mates. He had to deal with the root cause of his behavior towards Jimin and that was to control the way he felt about his dead wife and open his heart to his new mate.

Even when his sessions ended and he was declared mentally stable enough to go home, the therapist had encouraged him to go and start his family as a better Alpha but Taehyung didn't feel confident that he was enough for Jimin.

The Omega was already thriving without him. He already got a good job and was raising the kids well. Jimin had the freedom and opportunity he always wanted. Taehyung didn't want to ruin all that because Jimin seemed to be doing fine without him. If he stayed away forever, then Jimin would completely forget about him and live a happy life.

Taehyung was willing to do anything to ensure that Jimin lived happily and he thought that could only be achieved if he didn't show the Omega his face again. He thought Jimin hated him and would prefer if he never returned.

Still, everyday Taehyung's wolf would follow Jimin to work and back to the house just to protect the Omega. He even fought anyone who tried to harass Jimin but the omega had no idea. Sometimes Taehyung would get beaten up badly while fighting off Alpha's that tried attacking Jimin on his way home from work. He'd return to the forest with bruises but it didn't stop him from following the Omega the next day just to protect him.
