Hyejin sat in the waiting room, legs crossed and hands shaking. She had been called into SM's office so they could speak to her. She kept checking the time and bitting her lips. She didn't know why she was getting called but she hoped it was good news.

Her manager called her into the room. She sighed before grasping the cold, metal handle. She opened the door and found Lee SooMan, SM's CEO, sitting in a chair. He had a blank expression on his face and his hands were crossed. She gulped. She had never talked to the CEO in person. She bowed and sat next to her manager, right across from him.

"Good Morning Hyejin. I hope you are doing well. I called you down here so that I could discuss you debuting." He said in Korean. The main reason why her manager was there was that she needed a translator. But for now, she understood what he was saying.

" You have proven to me that not all girls have to be in a girly girl group. You have shown a more mature side of you that many people at 14 years of age can not prove. So we decided to have your debut in a group called NCT." He said fast. She was a little confused, only understanding the words, debut, 14 years of age and girl. Her manager had translated for her. as soon as she realized what was going on she sat there, wide-eyed and mouth trying not to spring open.

"You will meet the rest of the members of your group tomorrow, where your manager will take you to the main practice room."

"I understand. I will work hard. Thank you for this opportunity." She said. She bowed before leaving the room. As soon as the door closed, she let out a small squeal.

She ran to the trainee practice room. She had to tell her friend Mark. They had met when she first became a trainee. He was her only friend. He had other friends but Hyejin was always to shy to be around them. Mark has always wanted her to debut. He was told a couple days ago that he would also debut.

She ran into the practice room and saw Mark in the corner of the room talking to the boy named Donghyuck. She stayed away for a while so they could finish their conversation. Mark noticed her and motioned for her to come over. Hesitantly, Hyejin walked over to them.

"Hey, Jinnie! How did your meeting go?" He said.

"It went really well, I have some big news to tell you!" She said in English. Poor Donghyuck was confused as to what was going on.

"I'm finally going to debut!" I said. Mark opened his eyes wide and smiled.

"Seriously? Congratulations!" He said before opening his hands and bringing her into a hug.

" Thanks. But I'm not going to let you know anything about the group until I meet the members." She said. She was now happy. Both she and her best friend were going to debut! She had received a text from her grandmother, telling her to come home right after her meeting.

"Well, I have to go now. My grandmother needs me. But I will tell you everything tomorrow when I meet my group members." She waved goodbye to both of them. And ran to the bus stop.

When she got home, she ran to the kitchen to find her grandmother cooking dinner.

"annyeong halmeoni!" (hello grandmother!)

"annyeong hyejin! hoeuineun eottaess-eo?" (Hello Hyejin! How was your meeting?)

" It was good! I have good news that I want to tell you and hal-abeoji (Grandpa) but it will have to wait until dinner time!" She said. Hyejin's parents and brother live in America, so she lived with her grandparents until she debuted, then she would move into a dorm. They all sat at the dinner table as Hyeji gave them the news.

"Hyeji we are so proud of you and so are your parents. Do you know if you will be moving into their dorm?" Her grandfather asked.

"I'm pretty sure I will. All the idols do when they debut." She said sadly.

"But I don't have to move in right away. I can stay with you guys for a couple of months. Or years." She said.

"Oh, Hyeji. You cant stay with us forever! You are growing up. Even if you don't want to leave, we will make you" Her grandmother said. After dinner, she went to bed excited for tomorrows events.

But little did she now that she would debut in a boy group as the only girl.

Hyeji made her way to the training room with her manager. She walked in the room excited to meet the female members she thought that would become her sisters.

She opened the door to find a group of boys inside. She was thinking that she got the room but her manager was introduced herself to the members. This must be a mistake she thought. But as she scanned the members faces a familiar one. The face shoots her a smile and she shoots one back.

"Hyeji, meet your new members." Their manager said to me. The managers left so we could get to know each other. When the door closed, everyone gre quiet. Well everyone but one. Mark ran up to me.

"You didn't tell me you were debuting with NCT! I thought you were going to be in a girl group!" He said, making the other watch us.

"I thought so too." She said quietly. She was looking around the room full of guys much taller than her.

"Come guys, this is my friend Heyji. She is very shy but once you get to know her, she is a very fun person." Mark said. The boys were very hesitant and didn't say anything.

"Where are you from?" One asked me. I was going to answer when another asked me a question.

"How old are you?" He asked. I turned to him but my thoughts were interrupted as another asked me a question.

"Do you know which units you'll be in?" One who was really tall asked. The room went quiet as the one question everyone was wondering was asked.

"How did they let a girl join an all boy group? There has to be some mistake right?" The boy named donghyuck asked. Hyejin was also wondering how she got here. She was confused and scared of all the questions.

A boy with a sharp jawline and who was really tall walked up to her and put a hand on her shoulder.

"Hey hey hey guys. Enough with all the questions. Let's start with this Hi. I'm Taeyong. It's nice to meet you. Welcome to NCT." He said. She showed a small smiled and a tint of blush hit her cheeks.
