《Sanders Sides One Shots: Volume 2 [COMPLETED]》Warming a Cold Heart (Analogical)

Logan didn't understand the point of camping. You were intentionally traveling to the middle of nowhere and limiting your supplies and living accommodations to a tent and greasy junk food. That being said, he couldn't deny that some fresh air would do Thomas some good. Their host was getting cabin fever, and it was hindering Roman's creative process; however, the logical Side had to admit that they'd decided on going to a library or a museum as opposed to this.

Despite his internal protests, he stood, looking around at the seemingly endless amount of trees around them. Patton and Thomas were setting up the tents while Roman set up the tables and chairs. He didn't exactly know what to do to help, not wanting to get dirty. Virgil seemed to have the same thoughts, as he was still sitting in the car on his phone, grumbling about no reception.

"Hey Microsoft Nerd! You gonna help with something or what?" the prince called, making him scowl in his direction.

"What exactly would you like me to do? You seem to be handling your individual projects just fine," he countered, straightening his glasses.

Thomas took a pause from the tent and glanced between the logical Side and the anxious one in the car. "Why don't you and Virgil go find some firewood? It's getting late, and it'll get chilly at night," he said, nodding toward the car. When Logan started to explain that it was Florida and that a fire would be unnecessary, he cut him off with an eye roll. "It's November, Logan. It's going to be chilly even in Florida. Please go get the firewood, and take Virgil with you. He's kinda defeating the purpose of getting out of the house."

He sighed and reluctantly walked over to the car. The knock on the window made Virgil jump and look at him as he opened the door. "Salutations, the others want us to go gather firewood," Logan explained.

"Ugh... fine, there's no reception anyway..." the anxious Side muttered, slipping his phone into his pocket as he followed him into the trees.

They were quiet as they picked up large sticks and small logs they saw fit enough to be used for firewood. After about fifteen minutes, they returned to camp with what they had. Roman had finished with the tables and started setting up the fire while they headed out for a second batch. As they headed back for the second time, Logan realized that it was indeed getting chillier. The sun was slipping into the horizon and the sudden drop in temperature was causing him to shiver a little. He was only wearing a short sleeved black polo, so it wasn't exactly warming.

"Uh, are you cold?" Virgil asked him suddenly, raising an eyebrow at him.

"I'm not as warm as I'd like to be, but I'll manage," he replied, rubbing his arms the little that he could while carrying firewood.

The anxious Side looked down, gnawing on his bottom lip out of nervous habit. He stopped, setting down his firewood to Logan's confusion. He then shrugged off his hoodie and handed it to the logical Side. He didn't take it, simply staring at him in shock. With an eye roll, Virgil moved forward to wrap the heavy jacket over his shoulders before picking up his firewood and continuing with a slight blush on his face.

Logan felt warm from the hoodie's owner radiating from it, making his own skin warm. A pink blush rose into the logical Side's cheeks as he followed him. "Thank you..." he said quietly as he avoided eye contact, feeling flustered.

"No problem," Virgil replied, voice equally soft.

Neither of them mentioned it for the entire way back. When the other's pointed it out, the anxious Side just shrugged and said he was cold and the only one here without a long sleeve something to cover himself. This was true; Virgil wore a long sleeve shirt under his hoodie, Patton had a cardigan, Roman's suit was long sleeved, and Thomas always had a jacket of some kind on hand. They shrugged it off, not questioning for the rest of the night.

It was only as the two of them were retiring to the tent they were sharing did Logan take the warm article of clothing off. "Here, this belongs to you," he said, feeling nervous for no apparent reason. "Thank you for letting me use it."

"No problem, let me know if you get cold again," he replied as he relaxed into his sleeping back on the air mattress they were also sharing. Logan nodded as he took off his glasses and did the same, finding himself shivering not even five minutes later. The Side next to him shuffled around and there was suddenly a warm body pressed against him. He tensed at first, but relaxed as his shivering subsided and a small smile crossed his face. Virgil's voice was tired and defensive as he mumbled. "It's only cause you're cold."

"Of course it is," Logan agreed despite both of them knowing that wasn't the only reason.
