Virgil was hiding. He had been doing his best to avoid the prince-like actor for the past two days, constantly finding some tech job to do. At the moment however, he was straightening up Roman's dressing room and he walked in.

The techie immediately tried to come up with some excuse to leave as he spoke. "Ah, greetings Virge," the actor said with a smile though he was watching him closely.

"Afternoon, I was just straightening up a few things before going up into the catwalk to make sure the lights are-"

"Virgil, we both know you don't need to go up there," Roman said, raising an eyebrow. The techie froze, fear prickling along his skin. "And we both know you've been avoiding me."

Virgil tried to brush it off, claiming that wasn't the case as he headed for the door. The only problem was that Roman was standing in front of it. The actor looked down at him, as he was slightly shorter than him. The techie met his eyes nervously, fidgeting under his gaze.

"Virgil, why are you so nervous?" he asked, looking confused and concerned. He reached up to place a gentle hand on his cheek, but Virgil flinched a little. Roman drew back immediately, fearful he'd crossed a line. The techie didn't say anything, making him even more worried. "When we first met, you answered my questions even though you were anxious. Why aren't you talking to me now?"

He bit his lip, feeling himself start to lose control of his bottles emotions. His eyes felt hot as he looked up to meet Roman's. He blinked them back and tried to walk around him. Tried to, because the actor kept him from going anywhere but backwards. Virgil found himself against the wall as Roman stepped close. His breathing hitched as he met his gaze again.

"I'm not leaving until you explain why you've been avoiding me," he said, looking at him. "Was it because of the kiss?"

A startled gasp escaped Virgil's lips as he brought it up. The actor raised his eyebrow, catching his reaction. "So it is because of that," he murmured. "Why?"

"Because I literally kissed you when we'd just met ten minutes ago," Virgil said. "You're probably so uncomfortable around me, and rightfully so; I'm worthless compared to you..."

Roman watched the way his lip quivered before he bit it. His eyes were lowered and his figure seemed so much smaller. "Virgil, you don't have to worry about that," he said, trying to comfort him. "You're not worthless to me."

"How do I know you're not just pitying me?" Virgil asked, looking up with glossy eyes. "I'm just some random tech guy, you're freaking Roman Prince. The only reason we're even in this room together is because my best friend is the stage manager and wanted to prank me because he saw me staring at you."

The actor hummed thoughtfully, smiling a little. "I'll be sure to thank him then," he said, looking at him.

"What-mmf?!"

Roman's lips were on his, softly and gently. The techie was almost certain he could pull away if he wanted to, but rather than resisting, he melted. Virgil held onto him for support as he pulled him closer. When they pulled away, their eyes met.

"Still think I'm just pitying you?" Roman murmured with a smile. Virgil looked down, knowing he wasn't. The actor stole a glance at the clock on the wall, smiling wider. "You know, lunch break just started. Would accompany me to eat?"

Virgil's eyes widened as he shyly nodded. He pulled away as the prince-like man moved to grab his things. He didn't need to get anything himself, as he already had what he needed. "Oh, and Virgil?"

Roman got his attention from in front of the mirror. "If you ever say you're worthless again, I'll be forced to kiss you to shut you up."

Virgil blushed dark red as he smirked. The actor headed for the door that he'd opened for him. They exited and Roman offered him his hand. The techie stared at it with wide eyes for a moment before hesitantly placing his own in it. They went to a pizza restaurant named 'Grimaldi's' that served coal brick oven pizzas that tasted like they were sent from heaven to the hungry theatre guys. As Roman lifted up a slice, he asked Virgil a question.

"So, you never told me why you're wearing tech blacks instead of a costume. Why is it that someone with your talent for performing is backstage practically serving me instead of onstage with me?" he asked, taking a bite out of his pizza.

Virgil shifted uncomfortably. "I've always wanted to act, but I'm terrible at auditions," he said, looking down. "Even if I had auditioned for the role, I wouldn't have gotten it."

"I beg to differ," Roman replied as he finished his pizza. "You're better than anyone I've worked with."

"Okay, stop lying," Virgil said with a small laugh.

The actor raised his eyebrow. "I wasn't lying!" he exclaimed. "Truly! You're incredible!"

"Sure Princey," the techie said sarcastically as he smirked. He froze, backtracking his words and realizing what he'd said. He looked up to Roman staring at him with wide eyes. "S-Sorry! I-It just slipped o-out-"

"Virgil, I love it," the actor said with a laugh. "Don't worry about it, and in fact, feel free to call me that if you wish to."

The techie shyly smiled with a nod. His heart was pounding in his chest and his cheeks felt permanently pink from blushing. He recognized these feelings as the ones he always fought to avoid. What had started as a simple celebrity crush had now become a real problem.

Virgil was falling in love with Roman Prince.
