《Sanders Sides One Shots: Volume 1 [COMPLETED]》Anxiety Pills (Prinxiety)

When most people think about what would happen to Anxiety if Thomas started taking pills for it, they think it would harm him, make him sick, or even destroy him entirely. Yet the reality of what happens is much more amusing. Thomas doesn't typically take anxiety pills, but on special occasions when it becomes too much to he and Virgil to handle, he'd take one reluctantly.
Anxiety, by name and definition, makes you anxious, worried, and nervous, even about things that don't matter, or can't happen. So anxiety pills allow you to calm down, and stop thinking so much.
When Thomas takes an anxiety pill, the other Sides now know immediately what happened.
"Heeeey Patton!"
The fatherly Side looked up in surprise as Virgil bounced into the kitchen without a care in the world. "Uh, hey kiddo! You feelin' alright?" he asked as he hugged him tightly. Patton naturally hugged back, but hurriedly pressed a hand to his forehead to check for a fever. "You don't seem to have a fever... what's got you in such a good mood?"
"I was just thinking about how I love love love love loooooove somebody," Virgil replied, eyes half closed and voice loopy. "And he's super sweet even though he appears to be an asshole!"
"Virgil! Language!" Patton scolded, though he was trying not to laugh. It wasn't everyday he got to see his dark, strange son grinning like the Cheshire Cat. "But you wanna tell me who it is?"
The emo nightmare looked confused for a minute. "I thought I just did?" he slurred. "It's Roman, duh!"
Patton had to keep himself from squealing as Virgil smiled absentmindedly. This was one of the cutest things he'd ever seen. He gave the cardigan-wearing character another tight hug as he bounced off to talk to someone else, leaving Patton to wonder what had come over him.
The typically anxious Side made his way to the common room, finding his Princey on the couch, writing. "Hey Princey!" he exclaimed, hopping onto the couch next to him. Roman jumped in surprise, looking at Virgil in astonishment.

"Um, greetings?" he replied, looked very confused, but returning to his writing nonetheless. Virgil just continued to watch him over his shoulder for a little while until he got bored. He started to play with Roman's hair, making the prince blush. "Uh- what are you doing?"
Virgil just giggled, scooting closer and leaning into his shoulder as he continued to run his fingers through his hair. Roman looked down at him in pure shock as his face flushed completely red. The emo nightmare then cuddled into his chest, and started to purr.
"V-Virgil- what are you-"
"You're really warm," he said, curling into him. "And you smell nice! And you're soft!"
Virgil sighed as he relaxed into him. The prince was starting to be not only flustered, but concerned. Wrapping an arm around his shoulders, he guided them both to stand up so that he could make his way to Logan's room.
The intellectual Side had been working at his computer when a knock on the door sounded. He opened it, finding a blushing Roman with a giggling Virgil clinging to him like a koala.
"Explain please."
Logan looked between them, not sure how to respond at first. He then beckoned them into his room, closing the door behind him. He watched as Roman sat down, and Virgil immediately curled into his chest, emitting a soft rumbling noise he recognized as a purr.
"What caused him to do this?" Logan asked, straightening his glasses.
Roman shrugged, looking down at the emo nightmare with wide eyes. "I've literally no idea! He just sat down next to me on the couch, and the next thing I knew, he was clinging to me and purring like a kitten!"
The two of them shrugged, watching Virgil for a moment. "I think we can both agree that he's undeniably adorable though," Logan said, amusement in his voice as he smiled a little. Roman nodded in agreement, hesitantly reaching out to run his fingers through his hair, earning more purrs and a smile from the loopy Side. "Have you ever considered that he might see you as more than a friend?"

"I-" Roman started, stuttering with embarrassment. "I know I've thought about it, I can't say the same for him, I've no idea if he sees me that way. This could be a side affect of a spell, or poison, or something."
Logan nodded, mentally making a note of that information. He scanned his behavior again, determining all the possibilities at hand. "Were you in the Imagination earlier?" he asked, earning a nod from Roman. "Did you see or sense him in there as well?"
The prince shook his head. "Then we can eliminate that he's been cursed, or bitten by a venomous creature," he said, straightening his tie. "There has to be another causation."
"Causation?" Roman questioned, raising his eyebrow. The intellectual Side rolled his eyes and explained it was another word for 'cause'. "You could've just said cause then."
Logan sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Back to the issue at hand, Virgil seems to be experiencing something directly related to his filter, train of thought, and caution," he said. "Normally, all of those things would be in overdrive, seeing as he is Anxiety, but at the moment, none of them seem to be taking part of his decision making."
"So you're saying, whatever might be causing this," Roman gestured to the purring emo nightmare clinging to his waist, "is affecting his natural anxiety?"
The intellectual Side nodded, and his eyes widened as a lightbulb literally appeared above his head. Roman almost pointed this amusing occurrence out, but decided against it as he began speaking. "I think I might know what the issue might be."
With a snap of his fingers, the three of them were in Thomas' living room. "Hey guys! What's with Virgil?" Thomas asked with a laugh.
"I was thinking you would know, Thomas," Logan stated straightening his glasses.
"Oooooooh, right, I took an anxiety pill," he explained bashfully. "It must be throwing him off. Don't worry, it'll wear off in a little while."
The logical Side nodded as his theory was confirmed. "There you go, Roman," he said as they went back into the mind. "That would explain Virgil's curious behavior. I'd recommend just rolling with it until it wears off."
The prince thanked him and left the room, looking down at the not-so-anxious emo still clinging to his side. "Princey! Can we go to your room?" he asked with wide begging eyes. Roman wasn't sure he could've said no if he wanted to.
"Yeah, alright," he said with a sigh, blushing as Virgil stood up to wrap his arms around his neck, silently asking if he'd carry him. With another sigh, he picked him up bridal style. He hid an affectionate smile as the emo nightmare giggled.
"Hey Roman! Guess what!" he said as they entered his room.
Rolling his eyes, the prince played along as they laid down on the bed and put on a movie. "What is it Virgil- mmf!"
Before he could finish, the darkest of the Sides pressed a quick kiss to his lips, leaving him stunned as he pulled away. "I love you!" he giggled, burying his face into the crook of Roman's neck.
His face was completely red as he looked down at the emo nightmare cuddled into his side. Smiling a little at the tingly feeling in his lips, he wrapped his arms around him. "I love you too, Virgil," he replied, hoping that he'd remember all of this when the pills wore off.
Fortunately for Roman, he did, giving the prince something to hold over his head forever, as well as the ability to kiss him whenever he felt like it.
