"Hey dad?"
Roman looked up at the sound of his daughter's voice. "Yes, sweetheart? What do you need?" he asked, smiling fondly at her. He couldn't help but noticed how much she'd grown in the past couple years.
"I... I need your help..." she said quietly, moving to sit on the couch across from him. Alarm bells rang in her father's head at the sound of her voice. "I'm in love.""
Roman sighed a little in relief that it wasn't anything bad. "What's so bad about that?"
She bit her lip, looking down as she fidgeted with her hands and bracelets. "I'minlovewithtwodifferentpeopleatthesametime," Rose rushed out hurriedly, scrunching her eyes shut. It took her father a moment to realize what she said, but when she looked up it was clear he'd figured it out. "A-And I don't know how I can chose!"
"Well, who do you feel more connected to?" Roman asked, leaning forward to rest his arms onto his legs. "Are you certain of your feelings for both of them, or is something influencing it, like a comment someone made, or an interaction with them?"
Rose ran her fingers through her hair as she thought about it. "I'm certain. I love both of them, and I can't chose. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure both of them like me like that too" she explained. Her father frowned, thinking.
"I think you should talk to both of them about this," he suggested. "Go somewhere with the two of them, sit down, and just talk to them. I think you'll be able to find a solution better."
The younger girl thought about it before nodding and pulling out her phone to send a text as she said something along the lines of, 'I'll be back later' and left the house. Two phones lit up a text from Rose saying, 'Meet @ park, our spot'. Both of their hearts fluttered a little and they rushed to get their shoes on.

"Sapphire! Where are you going?"
She skidded to a stop in front of the door, turning to face her father. "I have to meet up with Rose, i-it's about something important otherwise she would've told me beforehand," she explained, fidgeting nervously as her cheeks warmed. Patton looked her up and down, realizing why she was so eager and anxious to go.
"Sapphire, do you like Rose?" he asked with a smile. Her brown eyes widened and her cheeks grew red at the question.
Sighing, she nodded nervously. Patton was about to say something else, but she cut him off. "Y-Yes, but I also have feelings for someone else," she said quickly, fidgeting with the ends of her curly hair. "I don't know, but I think she wants to talk about it..."
Patton offered a comforting smile. "Then go, I love you my lil gem," he said, pulling her into a hug. Sapphire returned it and then pulled away with a smile.
"Thanks dad," she said as she left the house to head to the park.
Matt was already on his way, his parents being at work and hardly around anyway. His red dyed hair blew in the wind as he ran. His heart was racing as he made it to the park, knowing Rose had something important to talk to him about. She would would've have gone into detail if it wasn't important enough to talk in person. He slowed down as he saw Rose waiting under the big tree they usually talked under. She turned as she heard him coming, smiling a little upon seeing him. He returned it, but saw her glance behind him. He turned, seeing none other than Sapphire. His heart jumped a little, but confusion muffled his thoughts. Had she texted both of them to meet up here?
The three of them were standing under the tree staring at each other. Rose finally smiled warmly at the two of them. "You guys, uh, you might want to sit down for this."

The two of them felt nervous as they followed her lead, sitting crisscrossed in the soft grass. She sighed and started to speak. "So, I've been thinking for while, about my feelings," she said steadily, looking between Matt and Sapphire. "I'm kinda in love, with both of you."
Matt's cheeks were bright pink and Sapphire's eyes widened. "W-What?" they both said at the same time, making them look at each other in surprise.
"I have romantic feelings for both of you, both equally strong," Rose repeated, calm from having come to terms with it. "I'd like to know if you two return my feelings."
Matt blushed more, rubbing the back of his neck as he smiled nervously. "I return your feelings Rose," he said softly, meeting her eyes. She felt her heart swell a little, smiling a little. They both looked at Sapphire, who looked like she was going to panic.
"R-Rose, t-that's a c-complicated q-question-"
"It's alright, Sapphire," she cut her off with a smile. "I just want to know if you like me back."
She looked down with sigh, nodding nervously. Matt looked at her but quickly looked away when she meet his gaze. Everyone's hearts seemed to be racing and each of their faces felt warm. Rose looked between them, tilting her head a little in curiosity.
"Do you two have something you need to confess to each other?" she asked, smiling a little.
The two of them looked at each other in shock. Matt laughed nervously as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I-I kinda have feelings for you too, Sapphire," he explained, smiling at her. She looked up in shock before a small smile slipped onto her face.
"I-I r-return your feelings too," she said shyly.
Rose smiled as they looked back at her. "So, we all have feelings for each other," she said, smiling as she ran her fingers through her hair. They nodded, smiling a little. "Well, I'd hate to have to choose between my two favorite people. Maybe... maybe we could be in a poly relationship."
Sapphire's eyes widened and Matt's face lit up. "Yes! That sounds perfect!" he said excitedly, reaching out to take Rose's hand. They shared a smile, and turned to the other girl. The both offered their other hand for her each to take. "What do ya' say, Sapphire?"
She looked between the two of them before she smiled and put her hands in there. "Y-Yes," she said. "I want to be with you two."
Rose smiled wide, pulling them into a hug suddenly. They were all giggling happily as they held each other tightly. Matt then took a leap of faith, pressing a sweet kiss to Rose's lips. When he pulled away, she was breathless and smiling wide. He then turned to Sapphire, kissing her gently as well. She touched her lips, smiling a tiny bit.
"Hey, I want one too," Rose said, giggling she pressed her lips to Sapphire's, earning a shocked gasp. They pulled away, the three of them sharing smiled and hugging each other. "You guys wanna come home to my place and sleep over tonight? We can make popcorn and make a pillow fort and cuddle?"
Sapphire finally spoke first, a smile gracing her lips. "That sounds perfect Rose." Matt smiled and nodded in agreement as they stood up. They held each other's hands, fingers laced as they started walking home toward Rose's house. She giggled happily in between the two of them.
"I love you two so much!"

For the moment when they can cloak the world in moon shadows once again. But even horrors have children. Even nightmares must feed. The flesh of his body was his only coin, strips cut to pay debts that never ended. Everyone has scars, stories in a life led, lessons learned, and licks taken. Luminous bodies touched by darkness. There are a cursed few that are the opposite, black shadows consumed by scars, twisted minds devoured by diseased hungers, bodies tortured misshapen works of gouged flesh, silver lines of blade thin cuts, ragged tears of teeth and glass. For them, the scars are marks of homecoming, the mangled wasteland the only place they feel at peace. Hell is a place. It's made of concrete, steel and glass. It's the sounds of starving kids crying themselves to sleep, huddling into small balls as creepers come and take their due of innocence and tender meat. It's eating rotten food and carrying ticks in your hair. It’s having no one and nothing while surrounded by everything. It's the life of a street kid. What abomination was birthed in the corrupt womb of man’s cast-off shit? Pretty people don't know the power of ugly. They can't see the strength in a broken soul or the power in a calloused heart. Those secrets are for the discarded alone. Only the broken understand the grace of darkness. The blessed folds that hide scars and tears, the protection of its concealing umbra.
