logan sighed, runninghis hand through his hair for the hundredth time today. he heard his door open but didn't glance back, already knowing that it was his boyfriend, virgil. he virgil start rubbing his shoulders. "how is everything going?"
logan shrugged, leaning slightly into virgil's touch. "it's going. i mean. i'm just not happy with it. or anything i do for that matter."
"what do you mean?" virgil asked, continuing his actions.
"it's just. i feel all these expectations lay heavy on my shoulders, and i never meet them. and when i finally meet them i'm never happy with my work. it's so frustrating." logan took a deep breath, not wanting to get too emotional. "i don't know what to do."
virgil nodded. "well, how about you take a break?" he suggested, "i know that it might sound hard but it's what is best for you. you might just be working yourself too much."
"i... i guess you're right." logan said, standing up and stretching. "i think i need a nap." he said, smiling down at virgil.
"sounds good. so you're more comfortable, i can give you a massage?" virgil suggested.
logan nodded, "sounds amazing."
-------
it was a week since logan's break and he felt ready to go back to work. boy was that a mistake.
virgil had a business trip the week when logan went back to working so he had no idea that logan was stressing himself out. virgil texted him every chance he got and logan always texted back so he suspected nothing.
once virgil got home from the trip, logan was passed out on his desk. virgil sighed sadly as he shook logan awake. "hey. what happened to your break?" he asked, frowning at his boyfriend.
"i thought i was ready." he explained. "i didn't mean to." he laughed. he looked up at virgil, still laughing but slowly began crying .
"hun. you really need a break."

Gods How I Hate Nature
While there are always choices in life, lately they’ve all tended to skew between bad, terrible, and suicidal. Tome finds himself typically choosing the latter. As if people and plants consistently trying to kill him wasn’t bad enough, he finds himself sent off to a Mage Spire along with a self-righteous other worlder (as though there were any other kind). Add to this some powerful figures in black, a sadistic instructor, an uptight law keeper, and Tome just wants to go back to his room, down a pint, and forget about everything… But, when someone starts a fight, especially someone bigger and stronger, you bide your time and strength. Before you can get revenge, you have to settle for surviving and slowly gaining power. That means accepting the most suicidal choices, doing the jobs no one else will do, always smiling, and not slitting that other worlder’s throat… (The story will incorporate comedy, but it will be a dark story. This won't be a happy, uplifting tale, but it also won't be too morose or depressing. Though if you're rooting for the other worlders, then I suppose it will be...)
