roman gasped and turned to his two friends. "i have an idea! let's play truth or dare!"
"what are we? third graders?" virgil asked and at the same time patton exclaimed "yeah! let's do that!"
"but let's have a twist! if you don't answer a truth or do a dare you have to.. uh.. let someone prank someone else in your contacts! or someone gets to look through your phone."
virgil sighed, knowing he wouldn't get away with this. "i guess we are third graders."
"oh come on, jack smellington! have fun for once!"
virgil rolled his eyes and looked over at roman. "whatever. let's just get this over with."
roman clapped excitedly. "okay! virgil, truth or dare?"
"truth."
"who is your crush?"
"you make me sad." virgil sighed, not wanting to say anything. "logan sanders." he mumbled quickly, hoping neither of them heard him.
"oh my gosh!" patton exclaimed, hitting virgil's arm repetitively. "that's adorable! oh! what if he likes you back!"
virgil rolled his eyes. "come on, there is no way!" virgil sighed, laying down on roman's bed. "roman, truth or dare?"
"dare!"
"i dare you to take a bad selfie and post it on your instagram for 24 hours."
"i regret this already!" roman sighed. "here, no way i'm taking an ugly photo. just go through my phone."
virgil giggled as he took roman's phone and searched through it. he went and posted a 'bad' selfie on instagram. he handed his phone back and held back his laughter. "patton! truth or dare?"
"truth."
roman dramatically groaned. "you guys are losers! new rule, no choosing truth twice in a row!" roman thought for a little. "what is your biggest secret that no one knows?"

"i once got drunk with my friends and we set his parents house on fire." virgil and roman starred at their friend. "what?! at least we had fun!" virgil rolled his eyes at his seemingly innocent friend. "virgil, truth or dare?"
"dare." he sighed, he wanted to pick truth but he had to follow the rules.
"i dare you to prank logan with a song of our choice!" virgil's eyes widened.
"what? why logan?!" virgil glared at the two. "anyone but him, come on!"
"nope! and the song we choose is would you be so kind by dodie!"
"i hate you both." he muttered, clicking on logan's contact. "pull up the lyrics, i don't know them."
me: i have a question.
logan: yes?
me: it might seem strange.
logan: just because a question is strange, it does not mean that it isn't worth asking.
me: how are your lungs?
logan: well, that is quite strange but they are fine, i suppose.
me: are they in pain?
logan: i do not feel any pain in my lungs, why?
me: cause, mine are aching.
logan: *because. that doesn't sound ideal. you should definitely get that checked out as soon as possible.
me: think i know why.
logan: oh?
patton and roman laughed at logan's responses. "shut up!" virgil defended, blushing.
me: i kinda like it though
logan:*kind of. what is up with your grammar today?
me: you wanna try?
logan:*want to. and try what? i wouldn't mind trying anything with you as long as i am aware of what it is.
"aw! that's adorable! he so likes you!" patton exclaimed.
"shut up!" virgil whined. "do i have to finish?"
"yes!"
me:oh would you be so kind as to fall in love with me?

logan: what?
me: you see, im trying. i know you know that i like you but that's not enough.
logan: you like me? as in a relationship sense?
logan starred down at the screen, he felt something bubble up in his chest. this was new and exciting but he liked it a lot.
me: so if you will please fall in love.
me: i think it's only fair there's gotta be some butterflies somewhere
me: wanna share? cause i like you but that's not enough so if you will please fall in love with me.
"guys can i please stop? i'm scared. i ruined everything- shoot!" virgil dropped his phone in his lap.
"v, calm down. everything is okay, you can stop. we're sorry." patton picked up the phone to tell logan it was a prank when he saw some of logan's messages.
logan: well. i'm not sure what love feels like but i think that i have what you call 'butterflies'
logan: virgil?
logan: i apologize if i made you uncomfortable.
logan: please don't ignore me.
"virgil! looked, he feels the same way!" patton showed virgil the screen causing him to gasp.
me: no! im sorry i didnt mean to ignore you
me: you have nothing to be sorry about.
me: i was kind of freaking out because of the lyrics i sent. it was a dare.
logan locked his phone and put it on his bedside table. he didn't want to be disappointed if virgil really showed no affection towards him. he heard his phone go off.
virgil: kind of?
virgil: i like you but i would have never went about telling you like that.
virgil: i wouldn't have even said anything.
virgil: i would love to.
you're welcome

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.
