Vol. 3 CH. 20 – Epilogue; A brand new start.....

The days after the attack in Travestin Kingdom was harsh. Three days after the attack, the citizens who bore hate in the governance of the Royal family of Travestin returned to enact their rebellion. The people that were hurt because of what Taiga and the nobles did came to the ruined city asking for reparations and forgiveness. As well as a new head ruler for the kingdom.

Because of this, the lives of the Royal family of Travestin we're busy. Queen Isabelle had to address the common folks' wishes and took care of the rebuilding of the city along with King Verdik. The rebelling commoners decided to wait until the Royal family were able to reinstate public order in the kingdom until they resume their protests. As a result, the outside of the city was filled with temporary houses of the people who wished for a change.

It went without saying that Gaius was busy mediating between the angry mob and maintaining the public order.

The Black army was more or less received in the city. It was thanks to their efforts that most of the citizens made it to safety. The ones trapped in the castle were able to get out safe sound while the prisoners in the prison camp within the city we're given a decrease in their time behind bars. That was because, even when the whole city was being destroyed by the horde of undead, they helped other citizens evacuate inside their prison.

Not only that, the kingdom promised to given position in the Knight Order so long as they reform themselves.

Now then, a few more days after the incident had passed. The Travestin royal castlewas back to how it was before and even more so, improved to withstand attacks from both physical and magic attacks.

Kuro had this made so that if ever Lucinda decided to stay in Travestin, she would be safe no matter what. Niya would be her exclusive maid while Rea and Leah would bee bodyguards.

Nero wasn't really pleased leaving her sister in a place that doesn't like their color but he immediately accepted it after Niya told him to just come and visit as much he wanted to.

Queen Isabelle promised to make sure that Demon Spawns wouldn't discriminated in Travestin anymore and King Verdik decided to formally step down as king and merely stay as a general in the kingdom.

King Verdik's decision about stepping down was unprecedented that even Queen Isabelle was shock. However King Verdik said that "There's no longer need for me to be king since someone else is more better than me". It was obvious who he was talking about. After all, what help the kingdom this time was from that person.

And so, the few days that passed by were peaceful. All lives returned to how it was before and not a single problem can be found in the city.

Except for the entrance of a certain person......

Kyoushiro was riding at full speed inside one of a single driver airship. It resembles that a jet plane but with smaller wings and smaller body. It was a one-seater complete with blasters and laser guns. It was something out of a sci-fi movie that many would want to have.

Such aircraft was flying bolstering speed, zipping through the clouds like a bullet.

Kyoushiro heard that Lucinda gave birth. Arianne had explained that Travestin was recently attacked by a Demon Lord and caused much destruction through out the city. She also told Kyoushiro that it took a whole month just to finish rebuilding it. The [Gate] artifact was yet to be installed as there was a slight problem with man power.

The incident at Travestin had took some people from the Black army as well as Mordred, Kyoushiro's battleship.

Kyoushiro heard everything from Arianne however, Kyoushiro barely listened to most of it. Would he care about the place where he was treated like a criminal? No, even if Lucinda became Queen, he wouldn't like living there.

But he was still worried. This was Lucinda after all. The only person that Kyoushiro sees as the only real person in his life.

That's why, he was in a hurry. Kyoushiro wasn't excited to see his child but rather, he was worried. After all, there wasn't enough time for the child to be born yet.

"Damn it.....!! There!!"

Kyoushiro's hand was shaking. He didn't know what to feel right now but he was very anxious. Was Lucinda alright? Is the child still alive? Are Lucinda and the child receiving medical attention? Kyoushiro's mind was filled with such thing even until he saw the city he was kicked out off.

There was a single battleship outside. It seems that the rest already came back after helping out in the kingdom.

But that was not important. Kyoushiro put more power into the engine and blasted through the sky like a rocket down at the castle gates.

Obviously, the guards that saw immediately scrambled to safety.

*Boom!!!*

The main door was crushed underneath after Kyoushiro's hard landing.

"Get out of my way!"

When the aircraft landed soldiers immediately ran to secure the intruder. But the moment they saw Kyoushiro's face, they stepped back. No, it was better to say they immediately gave way and stood to the side with their heads lowered.

It was like welcoming the real owner the castle.

"Tsk. That old goat. If I even see a single hair out place of my wife's head I'll pull off his head like a freaking toy"

Moreover, Kyoushiro's angry face was enough to make everyone look away in fear. Walking through the corridors with an raging heartbeat, Kyoushiro finally reached the throne room. It was the place where the King Kyoushiro knows always sits all high and mighty.

"Please wait! What are you going to do?!"

"Step aside! I'm gonna kick this door open and wring in that bastard's neck!!"

"A-Ah!! P-Please wait!! E-Everyone!! Step away from the door! Quickly!!"

The guard who saw Kyoushiro raise his feet, attempting to kick down a tall 5 meter tall, 10 inch thick steel door, with only just a foot, freaked out and knocked on the door like a wild man whole calling out to the people inside.

Naturally, Kyoushiro didn't care about pleasantries.

*Doo–Gaggh!!*

As soon as Kyoushiro kicked the door, one side flew all the way to the other side, stabbed through the wall.

"You bastard old man.... I though I told I'll kill you if you let something bad happened to my girl?"

It was like a thug meeting an old gang member that was told to look after his girlfriend only to have the girl get hurt by some woman that hated the girlfriend. It was complicated.....

King Verdik, who wasn't sitting on the throne but rather, standing next to the other nobles, had his eyes wide open in shock after seeing a large metal door sent flying.

Kyoushiro walked towards him, with a face that looks like he was about to chop someone's head off with a butcher knife.

".........."

King Verdik remained speechless. As soon as Kyoushiro was in front of King Verdik, Kyoushiro smiled menacingly.

"As soon as I came back from that elf place, I heard Lucinda gave birth, this place got attacked by a Demon Lord and you let her get hurt. As much as I want to see the other guy and pull his insides out, you're the first one I haaaad~ to see no matter what"

Kyoushiro held King Verdik by the collar and raised him with one arm. The smile Kyoushiro was showing was giving everyone chills...

"It was.... inevitable. We were powerless against the attack in the first place"

"I don't care about excuses. Where's my girl and my kid? If they aren't here in 3 seconds I'll pull your head off"

It was a very unreasonably order that made even the nobles cry "That's impossible!!!" while shaking in their boots.

"L-Look Kagami-dono, why not.... calm down and have some tea first?"

"Tea? Do I look like English to you?"

"Engli– what?"

"Tsk. Whatever, I'm just gonna look for them myself"

"Uwwoohh?!"

Kyoushiro tossed King Verdik like laundry bag to the floor. The nobles immediately ran to his side and help the old man stand up. The guards weren't doing anything to Kyoushiro, they were just attending to the ones who got caught up in his storm of rage.

It was then soon after that Kuro and Nero appeared.

"Your Majesty!!?"

"Boss!!"

"Ah?"

Kyoushiro turned his head like normal thug would. However the glare in his eyes was enough to make Kuro and Nero halt their steps.

"You two...."

"Y-Your Majesty! I apologize for not greeting you immediately! Welcome back!!"

"I-Is this really the time?!"

Nero scolded Kuro for greeting Kuro instead of stopping Kyoushiro from making more problems for everyone.

"Boss! Everything's fine! Lucinda-sama and the princess are alright! Please calm down!!"

"Calm down? Nero.... don't tell me to calm down. I just flew here the moment I came back from Ambrosia but what I heard was that Lucinda gave birth. Not only that you guys let a Demon Lord near her"

"We're sorry boss!!! We couldn't stop it! It was really impossible to keep the princess safe in that kind of situation!!"

Being suddenly attacked, the soldiers mind controlled and undead suddenly inside the castle was just something hard to do something about. Expecting some two hundred soldiers deal with that was just impossible. Furthermore, everyone else was pretty much caught off guard because of it.

Nero continued to reason with Kyoushiro until he was slowly calming down.

"Look boss, we did out best. We lost some guys but it couldn't be helped. It was just that unexpected"

So much so that they didn't got to fully use of Mordred's capability. If Mordred to have been available at the time, the army of undead or even the Demon Lord for that matter would have been easy to deal with.

"So please.... take a deep breath and calm down. We already had someone fetch the princess for you"

"Tsk. If I see any injury on her I'll cut off your tail"

"Yes, boss....."

"Phew...." Nero sighed in relief after pacifying Kyoushiro's rage. On the side the nobles were looking at him like a saint that came to save them from the devil. Everyone's faces expect for King Verdik and Kuro were relieved the moment Kyoushiro calmed down.

It was then soon after, Lucinda came.

"Kyoushiro-sama!!"

"........"

Lucinda ran towards Kyoushiro but stopped as he slowly walked towards her. She didn't expect to see such scary look on his face the moment he came back but....

"Ah....."

The moment Kyoushiro held her tightly in his arms, Lucinda was able to understand why Kyoushiro was mad.

"Don't make me worried...... I thought I'd lose someone important again...."

"Again..." Hearing those words, Lucinda properly understood how Kyoushiro was feeling. He was worried that he would someone held close to his heart. Lucinda had heard bits of the story from Mikoto but Lucinda was still wasn't sure how Kyoushiro thought of her.

However, seeing how worried Kyoushiro got and how reacted after just realizing something bad happened to her was enough to fully understand how much he care about her.

A while later, Kyoushiro broke off the embrace.

"Sorry..... I got too much hotheaded there"

Hearing Kyoushiro make and excuse and avert his face bashfully, Lucinda couldn't help but smile.

"Mmm... No, it's fine. I'm sorry I worried you"

"Me too. I couldn't get hold of you back on the other side. I should have sensed something bad happened here and came back"

As the two had their share of smiles, Mikoto, Niya, Gaius, Rea and Lea, as well as Princess Aria came to the throne room. While Gaius and Princess Aria were surprised to see the door of the throne room stuck on the wall, behind the throne itself, Mikoto, Niya, Rea and Lea all rant towards Kyoushiro. Niya chased after Lucinda of course.

"Kyoushiro-kun!!"

"Aizawa....."

Kyoushiro welcomed Mikoto to his chest and wrapped his arms around her back. Feeling the warm embrace of her dearly beloved, Mikoto was full of smiles.

"Welcome back"

"Yeah. Though it looks like you got yourselves into something troublesome yourselves"

"Ahahaha.... well"

Mikoto averts her eyes away from Kyoushiro. Though she did helped out saving others, she couldn't protect Lucinda from getting hurt. It was good that she was able to get immediate help from Ambrosia but she and Inomiri-sensei was a bit too late in coming back. As expected, gathering the battleships and the soldiers took time. Even the using the skill «Grand Teleportation» took too long to charge up.

Kyoushiro showed a relived smile once more and patted Mikoto's head.

"?"

"Good work. At least you guys are safe and sound"

It was an unexpected response from Kyoushiro. After all, aside from Lucinda, there was this certain wall that Kyoushiro made to treat Lucinda and the other two differently. Mikoto thought Kyoushiro would be angry at Mikoto for not protecting Lucinda very well but it seems that Kyoushiro was genuinely worried about Mikoto's well-being as well.

"Your Majesty, welcome back"

"Yeah! Welcome back~!!"

"Welcome back Onii-chan..."

"Yeah, I'm back. You guys did great. I'll give you guys some gifts once we get back at Ambrosia"

"No, it is alright your Majesty"

Niya bowed curtly as she refused receiving a reward from Kyoushiro. The reason? It was obvious that she would just get paid quite handsomely and wouldn't even get to use it in the first place. As for the other two....

"Yay~!! Candy!!"

"Choco cake...!!"

It obvious that their minds were full of sweets. Kyoushiro had finally settled his nerves down and turned to face King Verdik.

"Hey old man, I'm taking Lucinda with me. She isn't safe here"

"Though I would love to agree to that but as it stands....."

"She can't" hearing those two words, Kyoushiro narrowed his gaze into a glare.

"Are you saying you won't let her leave?"

"No, she can however she wishes but staying away for good cannot be done. After all–"

"After all, she's decided to succeed the throne now that I officially stepped down as Queen"

A woman that looked like an older version of Lucinda appeared behind the girls. Following from her back was Leticia and Princess Aria who had already arrived a few seconds early. Seeing Queen Isabelle for the first time, Kyoushiro looked back and forth between Lucinda and Queen Isabelle.

"So that's how'd you look like once you grow older huh?"

"Eh?"

Lucinda's face turned red as she noticed Kyoushiro's eyes looking all-over her body. Shyly, Lucinda covered her face while mumbling "Uuuu.... I forgot that Kyoushiro-sama only saw me as mother's double before...." and remembered how she magnanimously failed to act like her mother back then.

Anyways, Kyoushiro turned his head back to Queen Isabelle.

"Lucinda will be a real Queen this time?"

"Yes, as she was already set to replace me from the very beginning. But after the whole incident a few days ago, changes had to be implemented quickly"

"........"

"We have yet to be formally introduced, I am Princess Lucinda's mother Queen Isabelle Quintus Aluferd Travestin. I am pleased to finally the esteemed hero and King Kuro-dono had been praising about"

Kyoushiro glared at Kuro for saying calling him embarrassing nicknames again to other people. Kuro scratched the back of his head while laughing proudly. It seems that he didn't get what Kyoushiro was saying with his glare.

With a sigh, giving up on telling everyone to call him by his name instead, Kyoushiro shook hands with Queen Isabelle.

"Kyoushiro Kagami. Sorry but I got your daughter pregnant before marrying her"

"That's the first time I've heard such introduction but a pleasure to meet you"

As mother and would be son-in-law got acquainted, Gaius and Leticia came in as well. They greeted Kyoushiro after a long while, especially Gaius. Kyoushiro told Gaius that he'll have an artificial arm ready immediately for Gaius's severed arm but Gaius politely declined.

"That would be troublesome....."

"Alright, I'll just see if I can make some more potions that can regrow limbs. I've ran out of stock after what happened on my side"

Gaius smiled awkwardly as he couldn't refuse insistence on giving Gaius back his severed arm. For the moment, everyone welcomed Kyoushiro. As for the door, Kyoushiro had to fix it back to the way it was and fixed the front door where his special aircraft was parked. There was no one injured during his grand entrance however, the brand new walls were needed to tended again after he broke the walls and the doors.

After a while, Kyoushiro got to meet his daughter Clara. While the little girl looked afraid when she saw Kyoushiro, the father who saw a bit of his mother's face on his daughter smiled nostalgically. Kyoushiro picked up his daughter, despite the girl looking quite afraid and just quietly hugged her tight.

Those who watched such seen saw for the first time Kyoushiro's eyes dripped a tear drop down his cheeks. It wasn't unpleasant but none of them saw such side from Kyoushiro as he always had an angry look on his face.

Though the their meeting was happy, it couldn't be said to the ones that died during the battle against the undead monsters and Demon Lord Vraheim. Kyoushiro visited the place where the bodies of the dead were buried and offered his prayers for the peace of their souls.

Of course, Kyoushiro had to pay his respects even to the brave souls of the Travestin soldiers for fighting to protect the citizens of the Kingdom alongside their hated Demon Spawn counterparts. He had to, of course, because he personally knows how deep rooted their hatred for Demon Spawns.

And so, before the day ends, Kyoushiro to tell everyone what happened on their side. However even they didn't expect Kyoushiro to fight against a Demon Lord while on a trip. Because of this, none of them could blame Kyoushiro for not being able to come back and help.

But when the story went to Taiga fusing with a Demon Lord and escaping, Kyoushiro's face turned sour.

"That bastard got away again huh...."

His two swords he wanted to take back so bad had returned to him. While it had been maintained well, Kyoushiro felt a little disgusted holding his two swords again. In the end, he took the swords and kept then safe in his magic storage necklace.

After having a feast during dinner, the whole castle celebrated Clara's birthday and the rebuilding of the city. While the party was ongoing, Kyoushiro had a visitor.

"It has been quite a while since I last saw you Kagami-kun"

"Sensei....."

It was Inomiri Shizuka-sensei. Aside from the training days, Kyoushiro never did got to see her again even after he was sent away to the wasteland. It was that's to her that Kyoushiro got away from being killed by Welmner's instigation as well as arranging his destination to the wasteland. Kyoushiro was thankful that he was saved more or less by her kindness but it would have been great if he was sent to a different place instead.

Nevertheless, Kyoushiro was thankful for his HR teacher for saving his life.

"I've heard you've got a bit of titles under your belt now. I didn't think one of my students would become a king in this world"

"I'm not. Those guys just decided on their own"
