《Carmen Sandiego 2019 One-Shot Book》The Gang Reacts to the Fandom Part 2

Le Chèvre and El Topo stared at the heartfelt moment between Carmen and the siblings. They felt this feeling before, but they also didn't know how to describe it.
This feeling only started after all of them got trapped in this place. And after that picture was shown. Then, it finally clicked.
Their place wasn't at V.I.L.E. . They shouldn't be trusting an organization that only uses its operatives until they aren't very useful anymore and throws them away like broken toys. Besides, that's what they always were to the faculty.
Toys.
They were just these stupid young adults who got played right into V.I.L.E's hands. But Carmen Sandiego—Black Sheep— was no fool like all of them were.
She would've rendezvoused and started a new life. Maybe even go back to Argentina. But, she chose to continue the life of a thief. And dedicated her life to V.I.L.E . Not working for them like everyone else in her so-called "friend group" did. She knew what she was getting into, so did Shadowsan, but all of them didn't.
Le Chèvre felt guilty now. He and El Topo saw Black Sheep as a little sister. Kind of like Gray did. Black Sheep was everyone's little sister, and they got mad at her for being smart and leaving when she did.
The only reason why he joined V.I.L.E Academy to become a thief is because he was just an orphan who had no purpose in the world. So, when he was confronted one day by an Indian woman with spiky white hair on the streets, who gave him a purpose, he automatically accepted her offer to become a V.I.L.E operative. He didn't care about his end of the bargain at that time, all he wanted was a life off the streets and having a purpose in the world while he was still living.
Over the years of working for V.I.L.E, Le Chèvre learned something.
Once you choose a path, there's no turning back.
But not even the faculty said that he couldn't change the direction.

El Topo was always alone.
No matter where he went, or who he came across, there would always be nothing left in the end.
He was once a very happy child, living in Madrid, Spain, with both parents and two little sisters who were only eight-years-old. He was twelve at that time. He had his friends—Jason, John, Matt, etc.— by his side, he was one of the most popular boys in school, and he was the captain of the school's basketball team. He was also a ladies man.
Or so, he thought.
Later in the year, he started seeing cute and hot girls in his school as nothing more than peers or classmates. And he suddenly started taking interest in boys.
Sure, his friends supported him, but not his parents. And his little sisters were too young to know what was going on. His parents started treating him differently after he came out to them as gay.
First, they would always yell at him all the time or blame him for something that they did. Then, it went from that to treating him like he was complete and utter
They made him clean the house all the time, look after his little sisters instead of going to school or hanging out with his friends, but the last straw was when one day his mother walked up to him.

Antonio was cleaning the living room. Like he did almost every day since a few weeks ago. His little sisters were at school, and his father was at work, so it was just him and his mother. He missed his friends, his team, the old parents he had before this school year started. But he knew he would never live the life he once lived ever again.

He was almost finished cleaning the cushions of their sofa when he heard his mother's voice booming from down the hall.
"ANTONIO!"
The young man looked over to see his mother stomping towards him. Oh no. He sighed.
"Yes, mother?" He asked, trying not to sound like he was mocking her. But he failed.
His mother glared at him, reaching forward.

She dragged him by the ear to the kitchen..

She grabbed his ear, dragging him towards the doorway. Antonio screamed in pain, raising his hand up to pull his mother's hand away from his ear, but her grip was too tight.
She continued dragging him by his ear to her destination. Antonio didn't really get what his mother was mad at him about. Did he miss a spot while cleaning? He looked closer to see a piece of paper on the counter near the stove. Oh no...
His report card.
She found it.
He was so dead now.
The woman snatched it from where it sat, holding it up to his face.
"Why do you have A's?! I told you to get an A+ on EVERY subject! I've raised you well, I gave you a bed to sleep in at night, I fed you, took care of you while you were sick, and THIS is how you repay me?! UNGRATEFUL CHILD!" She shouted, raising her hand.

And slapped him on the face..

Antonio was shocked.
He held the red spot on his cheek. Where his mother slapped him. The worst part, was that she didn't feel the slimmest bit of remorse for what she just did to her own son. Her only son.
But then again, she and her stupid husband have been doing this to him for a long time without his little sisters knowing. And they should continue to not know.
"GET OUT OF MY HOUSE YOU FILTHY ANIMAL!" His mother shrieked, picking up a kitchen knife and charging towards him. Antonio screamed, raising his arms to protect himself. Bracing for impact. But it never came. Antonio looked up in horror. In between him and his mother, he saw....his little sister...
Ella.
The knife impaled her through her chest. Blood was pouring out of the wound. Antonio saw an opening, and ran. But not out the door, to the telephone they had. He had to save his little sister. One of the only lights in his life. He quickly picked up the phone and dialed 911. He had no other choice...but to tell them the truth.

Ella died that fateful night...

Antonio and Jean-Paul looked at each other. They now knew what they had to do.
Quit wasting their time working for V.I.L.E....
And work with their old friend to finally take it down. And relieve them of their fears of being taken away from each other.
Sheena was looking at them from a distance. Having the same thoughtful look on her face. She had no reason to be at V.I.L.E. if they just kept using her. But she also remembered who can give them all a purpose and be grateful for what they do.
Carmen Sandiego.
Black Sheep.
Sheena walked up to Antonio and Jean-Paul. Taking a deep breath while doing so.
"You guys too, huh?" She asked, getting nothing but nods as a reply from both of them.
Sheena chuckled. "Y'know, I actually liked Black Sheep. The only reason why I was so mean to her was because...I tried to hide my feelings for her." Jean-Paul and Antonio were shocked at Sheena's confession.

"Yes, I had a crush on Carmen when she was still with us. When she was still Black Sheep...which is why I think we should work with her instead of V.I.L.E. . She's always been there for us, even if we didn't exactly need her, she was still there." Sheena said, smiling at the memories they all had together with Black Sheep. Jean-Paul and Antonio smiled back at her.
"..then what are we waiting for? Let's go get our little sister back." Antonio said, motioning to where Carmen and her crew were. Sheena and Jean-Paul smiled at him, following him to where the gang was.
Carmen seemed to have known they were coming, because she motioned Ivy and Zack to leave them. But to also stay nearby in case they try to attack her.
"What do you three want now?" Carmen asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
"We're sorry, Black Sheep. We should have known that VILE really wasn't where we belonged." Jean-Paul said, basically being the voice for all of them.
Carmen glared at them. "And why should I trust you? After everything you've done?" She asked, referring to everything that the semi-former V. I. L. E. Operatives had done to not only achieving V.I.L.E.'s goals, but for also doing things to Carmen (like erasing Gray's memories) to get her to a breaking point where she's most vulnerable.
Tigress was about to answer before she was interrupted by the screen lighting up. Huh...guess that means that it's time to sit down again. Carmen called Ivy and Zack back and glared at the former V.I.L.E operatives a cold glare. She mouthed "later" over her shoulder and walked off with Zack and Ivy (aka her kids). Leaving the three lonely young adults behind.
Tigress shrugged at Jean-Paul and Antonio, and walked back to the theater. Where everyone else was.
The screen lit up with bright, white words.
Trey Stirling and his father suddenly popped up and saw everyone there. Zack growled at the sight of his old rival. Even if they only saw each other recently in Dubai.
Carmen and Ivy had to hold him back from attacking Trey. Who was standing there shocked. How the hell did he get here?!
Carmen was really trying to restrain Zack. Even if she was physically stronger than him, he could still be able to break through her hold if he tried hard enough. Zack growled.
"Let me at him, Carm! He's done enough damage to our family already!" Zack yelled, fighting harder to break from Carmen's hold on him.
"Zack, he's your OLD enemy! You and Ivy don't have the same life as you did before, remember?" Carmen replied, tightening her hold on Zack. Zack paused.
She was right. They weren't racers anymore, they were thieves. And they chose to be thieves. To work for Carmen because she was the only person left who would take them under her wing at the time they met. She was true family.
Zack relaxed against Carmen and Ivy's hold on him. Finally calming down.
Trey and Daddy Stirling stared at Carmen for a brief second. Before Trey walked up to her with a dopey smile on his face.
"Well, hello, lady!" Trey said, taking Carmen's hand and kissing the back of it. She pulled it away from him, much to his dismay.
Daddy Stirling walked beside his son. Pushing him back.
"I'm sorry about my son, he likes to flirt with girls a lot because he doesn't have a girlfriend yet. And you are?" Daddy Stirling said, shaking Carmen's hand.
"Carmen. Carmen Sandiego." Carmen replied, shaking Stirling's hand. Stirling's eyes widened in shock and recognition.
"The thief?!" Stirling exclaimed, looking over at Zack and Ivy. They nodded in confirmation.
"You two left Boston, threw your dream away, and decided to work for a thief?!" Stirling screeched, almost making himself sound like some sort of banshee. Oof.
"Uhhh you mean Super Thief? Yeah, we did." Ivy said nervously, glancing at Zack and Carmen.
"What does she mean by "Super Thief"?" Stirling asked Carmen, taking his hand out of her grip. Carmen sighed.
"I'm not just some petty thief who steals things for fun. I'm only a thief, who steals from other thieves." She replied, hearing Ivy and Zack cheering behind her. She mentally rolled her eyes at them. Teenagers.
Stirling frowned. "So, you're an antihero?"
Carmen smiled at him. "Precisely."
"Annnd she's the best!" Zack said, pulling Carmen into a side hug. The woman rolled her eyes good natured-ly at Zack's antics and pulled back from his touch. Turning her attention to Trey. She raised an eyebrow.
"So, you're the rival Zack and Ivy mentioned a lot. How inappropriately underwhelming. Though I was surprised to learn that you're the reason why these two failed their task to steal the supercar during that posh party only a long week ago. Considering that you're really not as tough as you think you are, it shouldn't have been a problem for Zack here to drive it out without almost getting shot down by security. But I'm past that now." Zack and Ivy looked down in shame, remembering the events of that evening in Dubai. But they silently cracked up at Carmen insulting Trey in front of his father's face.
Trey pouted at that. When did these two losers meet this hot woman?
Everyone was interrupted when the screen lit up again...
"Wait..THEY STALKED US!?" Ivy screamed in panic. That means...they caught EVERYTHING.
Everyone paled at that. They all had embarrassing moments on screen (excluding Carmen because she's cool as a cucumber). The screen lit up again with the first scene.
El Topo and Le Chevre laughed at the cat joke. Zack and Ivy were cackling, and Carmen and Shadowsan slightly smiled at that moment. When they first started working together to stop VILE. And the Stirlings were confused, not really getting the joke because, well, they're only side characters.
"Haha! Good one Carm! That's gonna be stuck in my head forever!" Ivy said, almost falling to the floor in pure laughter.
Okay, now Zack and Ivy were wheezing on the ground. Did it really make them laugh that hard?
"Y'know, Shadowsan, that isn't how you carry a lady." Carmen said smoothly, smirking when she saw Shadowsan look embarrassed. He got what she meant.
"Y'know, Carm. I didn't realize how hot you were till now." Zack said, raising his eyebrows at her. Only to result in her slapping him on the shoulder.
"Ow!" Zack yelped, holding his shoulder where it hurt.
"You're lucky I didn't hit you somewhere worse." Carmen said, turning her head back to the screen. While she heard Trey silently laughing.
"And Trey, shut the hell up. Or else I'll make you. " Trey nodded in panic and craned his head back to where it was gazing at. The screen.
"Haha! Lambkins, you may be our enemy, but that was damn good!" Coach Brunt said, not realizing what mistake she made.
Carmen growled. Catching the attention of Shadowsan. As well as Zack and Ivy.
"Uh oh.." They said in sync.
"Uhhhh what's happening?" Trey asked, scared of what was gonna happen with his rival's boss. Who also happened to be a THIEF.
"Dude..NEVER make Carmen Sandiego mad at you. Trust me and Ivy on this, we had to learn the hard way."
"DAMN RIGHT YOU DID!!" Carmen screeched, followed by a loud crash.
Everyone turned towards the sound. Apparently Carmen flipped a fucking table over. In ANGER.
Ivy and Zack hesitantly stepped forward. "Now, now, Carm. Take it easy. It's just one comment!" Zack said, attempting to save everyone's lives from the storm that is Carmen Sandiego. Well, when she's pissed off at you.
Carmen glared at him. Zack gulped. He braced for any kind of impact, but it never came.
Carmen sighed, calming herself down. Everyone in the room exhaled. That was close.
"Sorry, I just don't like it when VILE Faculty talks to me." Carmen said, crossing her arms over her chest. Shadowsan surprisingly patted her on the shoulder in understanding.
"Nah its fine, Carm! Shall we continue, m'lady?" Ivy said, using an inside joke at the end of her sentence. Carmen chuckled, nodding her head.

Polly and Drake
Drake has been searching for a job as a personal guard, but wherever he turns, he is kicked out without fail. It's not that he's terrible with weapons, or inattentive. It could be because of his obvious racial heritage. Or because of Polly. With his funds dwindling, the only remaining option is to become one of the Cursed: poor souls that work for the Dragoneye Guild. In other lands, they may be called adventurers, saviors or even heroes, but not in the White Desert. Here, they are shunned and ignored. Depraved people who forsook their humanity for money and fame. With this choice, Drake may not only fall from grace, but also become one of only a few thousands capable of unearthing the secrets of ancient times. If he could get this guardsman notion out of his head. May contain gore, violence, profanity and traumatising content. Taking another shoot at this writing business. I write for fun and when I have time. There is no plan. The story may change drastically from what it starts out - or not. We'll see what happens. Currently, I'm aiming for a Slice of Life with LitRPG elements at a later time.

MAZE - The Endless Quest
As all kids do, Hera wanted to be an explorer. Sadly when she turned 18, she discovered that her stats and lack of skills made her fail the requirements to become one, and she went to work on a bookstore. That should have been the end of her story. But when she wins a lottery to have her level up, she discovers a hidden skill and a rare one at that. The system gave her dream back, and this time she is not letting it go. ############################## The story is about a world where game-like systems are the norm. Everyone has a level, status, and even skills are a common thing. If your stats are good, you can also become an explorer, someone that ventures inside a place called MAZE, a dungeon of sorts filled with monsters, creatures, and things that the natural world is missing, such as magic and demi-humans. The story follows Hera, a woman who wanted to be an explorer, but her status were too low to become one. One day she wins a raffle that allows her to level up for the first time giving her the chance to achieve her childhood dream. It's more about how things work and what you can do with them than about power or revenge. The rhythm might be a bit slow for some, but that is the idea. I want to give sort of a slice of life feeling to most of it.
