Mkay,
Bye bye, lovelies~
____________
Training was all you did almost when you weren't doing missions. Onawhile, you liked training with Neji. Though he could be a little ignorant at times, he was your closest friend.
The only problem? The Hyuga and L/n clan both hated each other. Literally! Any eye contact, verbal conversation, being in another clan's presence...meant total uproar. It was mostly because the two of your clans had similar kekkei genkais.
Your family had Kōmoribijon. It gave you the ability to see everything in the dark, even heat sensory. It gave you the ability to see five miles away in the dark, too(thanks to the heat sensory).
Despite the clash of clans, or the harsh responsibilities given to you from your father, you enjoyed being with the Hyuga. Neji wasn't like his family. He wasn't afraid to interact with someone like you. Ever since you two were seven, both of you enjoyed hanging out together, sneaking away from homes and meeting up.
The only reason of why people never found out in the clan was due to the fact you and him were smart and hid your tracks. Clever for two little kids, huh?
Back into present time, it was sunset, and both of you were sweaty and awfully filthy from training to hard. Standing next to him and watching the sunset go down, you pulled out a water bottle.
"Nice job training today, Hyuga." you said, smiling at him. Neji glanced over at you, rolling his eyes. "You could use some training L/n." he said. Laughing, you felt comfortable with your enemy's cousin. And one thing you were comfortable about specifically...being with him.
It's been almost two weeks you've been hiding this...feeling. Emotion. You father described the feeling you read in romance novel "A tricky thing that took one very beautiful girl and one strong man to discover how to figure it out." Well, you already failed that...you were average beautiful, in your opinion.
Why would Neji like you, being only a small, petite/thick person, and let alone a L/n. And almost everyone was a jerk in your clan except from you.
Especially that future fiance you were going to be forced to marry. Who even did forced marriages anymore?
"I heard Naruto came back, have you seen him?" you asked, noticing him glare at you. "What do you care about him?" he asked, making your roll your eyes. "Um, Neji, come on. He's everyone's friend." you said, patting his shoulder gently. "R-Right...." he mumbled.
"Anyways, I have to go before Dad finds me. Night!" you said, your usual cheerful self walking away. You left the Hyuga alone, who waited until he couldn't see you to begin walking.
You were greeted home by your fiance, one of the greatest shinobi in your clan. Edano L/n. What grossed you out more was the he was your second cousin(your cousin's son). He was one of the many people who fought with the Hyugas, claiming to be even himself "the greatest L/n shinobi at the age of fifteen." What a show off.

"Hey, cutie-" you heard him say as you entered. He had bright blue eyes and h/c hair, that was half short and the other part styled in a man bun. Greeting with a tiny smile, you waved at him. "Hi, Edano." you said, walking farther from him.
"Oh come on, don't you want to spend time with your fiance?" he called out to you. Turning your head, you shook it vigorously. "Nope...not really." smacking your lips quietly before continuing to look straight ahead.
Besides, you could never love someone who was a jerk like him. Hearing silence after that, you smiled widely in relief. Thank goodness.

"DAMN HYUGAS, ALWAYS THINKING SO FULL OF THEMSELVES! WE PROBABLY ARE MORE HUMAN LIKED, COMPARED TO YOU COCKY ANIMALS."
Shouts of you familiar cousins could be heard right outside of your clan's gates. Staying inside while drinking your cup of tea/coffee, you let your mind drift away. This was how your day usually went before going of with your shinobi group. Chaos. Rages. Anything that included being loud and troublesome.
"YOU ALL ACT HEAD OVER HEELS TOO! THE KōMORIBIJON SUCKS!!!"
"OH YEAH, WHY DON'T YOU JUST SHUT UP!!!"
A rock hitting glass was heard from the large window to your left. Turning your head, your eyes widened. "Neji, how come you're here!" you exclaimed, pursing your lips. Opening the window, you looked down to see Neji. Just like you guessed.
"Mind coming down?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as you giggled. Jumping from the building's level, you trusted Neji stupidly that he would catch you. Luckily he did. Staring into each other's eyes, blush began to show on both of your faces. "S-Sorry, Neji." you said, getting out from his arms. There was silence before he began to walk towards the forest; a usual place you and him went to. Following after him, you looked back at the window. Pulling out a kunai, you threw it to the window at an angle where it wouldn't break the glass. Instead, the close the window.
And there was success.

Time was going by as you and him were training once again. Sweat was falling down your face, grime staining Neji's plain shirt. You two had no idea that your father was looking for you, along with several close cousins. Including your damned fiance.
"Y/N!" you heard your father's voice, both of you freezing.
You two were just finishing up a spar. "Neji, I have to go. Please, be safe." you whispered. Beginning to walk away, you felt someone trying to pull you back. Then....a warm pair of lips kissing your temple from behind.
"Be safe."
Your body was gently pushed as you began running once again.

"THIS HYUGA WAS IN OUR TERRITORY!!!" Edano yelled loudly outside of the large town place the L/n's lived. You had just gotten groceries, and therefore you were able to hear him.
"Edano, stop being so-" you were about to scold him with a cranky tone, only to freeze.
Neji was the Hyuga in the territory. He looked over at your with wide eyes, gulping before looking up at Edano. "I'll go home peacefully, just let me go." Neji said, making the L/n laugh.

"It's either you die in our spar, or you win! That's how every Hyuga gets free here. Most of them go home barely alive-" he said, a sick laugh coming from his mouth.
"Stop it, Edano." you spoke up, walking closer to him. Clearly, most of the L/ns nearby were shocked, staring at you with daggers.
"You're walking on thin ice...for trying to challenge me." Neji spoke up, making you glare at him.
Henceforth, a crowd began to circle around as they back up from each other. Obviously they were going to spar. The crowd began to chant, both men staring at each other.
You had to stop it before your father found him.
"Neji that's enough!!!" you exclaimed, only to be ignored as they began to duel. Clings of kunais and dust were all over the place, your anxiety for Neji rising each second passing.
After a minute, the dust was gone. The only thing left was Neji over the body of Edano, who was bleeding dangerously.
"N-Neji..." you whispered, looking down in shame as your close friend walked away. The h/c man was sent to the medics of the territory.
Glancing back at Neji, he was smiling, mouthing three words: "Meet me soon."
Eyes widening, you looked around in hopes no one had saw him communicating to you. Was it worth the risk? Waiting a couple of seconds, you rushed into the forest he and you always met together(the groceries you were holding given to one of the maids).
"What was it you wanted to talk about?" you asked Neji, spotting him leaning on a trunk of a pine tree, the leaves shading where he was nicely.
His expression looked serious as he walked up to you, slowly and controlled. When he stood in front of you, he placed his hand on your shoulder, staring into your e/c eyes.
"I like you."
You stood in shock, staring into those lavender eyes of his as he stared at down at you.
"I like you even if you are a L/n. I like you for who you truly are."
The feeling of his hand on your shoulder went towards your face, and once to your face he caressed your cheek.
"Neji, it would be hard for the both of us to actually be a couple. And why tell me now?" you mumbled, looking to the side. Indeed, your cheeks were already changing and your heart was beating fast. But you didn't want to put both of you in danger. Imagine, all the trouble.
Eyes looking back to Neji, he was leaning towards your face, the feeling of his gaze on your lips arousing you. Closing your own eyes, the two of you interlocking in a kiss.
It was easy to tell you were risking your relationship with him.

Two months later

Running across the beach, you were laughing loudly. Neji was behind you, his long soft hair flowing in the wind. It was nearly sunset, people were heading home. But you and Neji? not at all. The two of you were enjoying each other's company.
You were so oblivious to the act Edano was watching, his eyes and body standing still from shock. The heiress and heir of opposite clans meddling? Immediately, he ran towards the place your father was with a couple of his guy friends. A couple of minutes later, while you and Neji were sitting next to each other, your father screamed your name.
"Y/N!"
"Sh-" you said, standing up quickly as Neji followed. His hands glided in to yours, your worse nightmare becoming reality.
The reality where he would find out.
"You shouldn't be messing with a Hyuga like him." the leader of the L/n clan said, pushing Neji away from you. "Father, stop!" you yelled, standing in front of Neji.
"I love him!" you added, glaring at your father. "Even if he is a Hyuga! Let him be, please!" you yelled, pulling out a kunai.
Though he wasn't buying it, only thinking about names or titles. "I demand you to NEVER see him again. No more of this kunoichi stuff, and no more crap like that!"
Tears once again were filling your eyes, your heart clenching as you looked back at Neji. He looked down at you, smiling. "It's okay, Y/n." the Hyuga cooed to you as you began to silently cry over true heartbreak. Nodding slowly, you hugged him, scoffs being heard from in front of you.
"Meet me in the forest we always go to." he whispered into your s/t ear, his pale lips tickling your ear lobe ever so gently. Slowly releasing the hug as if something was making it hard for you to leave, you watched him walk away.
You were going to see him. Even if it meant risking his own life and yours all over again
o(o)o
Dropping the guard's passed out body with ease, you kept your silence while stalking outside. Because of the fact that your father was paranoid about Neji, he had nearly the whole area of skilled chunins and jonins. You didn't have to go to the overground...why not go underground?
Doing a bunch of hands signs, you placed your palm into the soft brown dirt. "Earth style: Tunneling Technique."
The ground practically sunk into itself, you body entering a dirt path underground. Your tracks began to cover their own selves, darkness overflowing where you could see. Activating your kekkei genkai, you were able to "see."
You did say you would do anything...didn't you?
Who knows how long, but finally you figured out you were inside the forest. Getting out of your tunnel, you looked around. Neji usually brought a lantern he lit up. Not surprisingly, Neji was standing not to far. "Neji!" you called out, running to him and jumping in his arms.
"Careful I have a lit candle!" Neji said, chuckling anyways as he placed it down, catching your in a firm grip.
"Why did you want me here?" you asked, frowning. "You and I could be killed after this."
"Not if we run away." Neji said, smirking at you.
Run...away?
Your smile became wide, smirking back.
"You're insane."
