I remember it like it was yesterday. Meeting the love of my life , Gunnar.

*flashback*

My brother Olaf had dragged me along to his hockey practice since our parents were on a business trip. I sat in the empty stand by myself with my book in my hand and a blanket over my arms. I looked up occasionally to watch what was happening on the ice.

I was honestly dreading going to practice today. I just wanted to go sleep. I got my gear on and walked out to the ice, I saw my best friend Olaf and skated to the bench to sit with him and talk. As I skated to the bench I had looked up in the stands to see a girl sitting there, She was beautiful. "Hey Olaf, do you know who that girl is up in the stands ?" "Oh that's my sister y/n, why do you ask?" says Olaf. I respond "Oh no reason, just haven't seen her around." Olaf responds saying "yeah she doesn't come to the hockey stuff much , she's here today because our parents are out of town." I nod my head in return and look back up at her in the stands.

I looked down at the bench where my brother was and see an attractive boy beside him. We make eye contact and I give him a light smile and see the boy smile back at me.

We have been inseparable ever since.

The Iceland team has been invited to the goodwill games. I travelled with my brother and my boyfriend to attend all of the games. On the off days Gunnar and I hangout all day. We went shopping and my brother Olaf came along with us. Gunnar tells us he needs to go to the bathroom, Olaf and I nod at him while we continue to look at the clothes trying to find something we could take back to our parents. He had been gone for a couple minutes and when i turned the corner of the store I see a girl from team USA talking to him, I recognized her from the first game they played against them , I believe her name is Julie. I slowly walk up to Gunnar as he is talking to the girl and put my arms around his waist. Julie looked at me confused and asked me who I was. Gunnar had spoken up and said "this is my girlfriend, her name is y/n. We gotta go good luck in the competition." We grab Olaf and walk out of the store. I walked with my head down upset at what had just happened. I know he had told her who I was but she was just so beautiful and she plays hockey so they have so much more in common. I felt so beyond insecure. We made it to the dorms and Olaf said "hey I'm gonna go to my room, have a good rest of the day you two , see you tonight." We waved by to Olaf while I still sat on a bench outside the dorms in silence. Gunnar sat beside me and put his hand on mine and said "I know something's bothering you, what is it?" I didn't know if I should just push my feelings away or if I should tell him. He squeezed my hand and spoke again "Please tell me what's wrong , I want to fix it." I looked up at him slowly and said "it's okay you didn't do anything. I'm just in my head right now." "Please Y/N tell me about it so I can help you." I sighed and said "fine. I felt so insecure seeing you talk to that Julie girl, she's so pretty and you two have so much in common. I don't know its dumb I'm sorry, I'm just gonna go to my room and sleep." Before I could get up he grabbed my hand and looked me in the eyes and said "Y/N , YOU are the most beautiful woman in the world. YOU are the woman I fell in love with. YOU are all I want. Don't say you are sorry, I am the one that's sorry for talking to her, I should've been more respectful to you and I am so sorry for that." I begin to tear up and fall into his warm embrace. He holds me tightly and kisses my head and tells me he loves me.
