DRACO POV
I sighed and banged my head against the desk in front of me, the small tower of papers beside me falling over in the process.
"Fuck." I groaned as I picked up the stack and started to organize my desk a bit. I was working from home today and I would much rather be spending this time with my husband or one of my children, but I haven't the time to visit them recently. I sighed once more as I pinched the bridge of my nose "I need a break."
I heard the doorbell go off downstairs and listened closer as a house elf answered. Soon the elf in question was standing in my doorway, with a small grin.
"Dinky apologizes for the interruption, sir, but Master Wally has returned home to see Master Draco, he has! And he brings the young Madame Jamie with him, yes!"
"Thank you, Dinky. Send them in." She nodded and within a few moments my eldest son was standing in the room with my granddaughter on his hip.
"Hello Father. Are you busy?"
"A bit, but I need a break anyways."
"I'm glad you said that. That's why I am here." I raised an eyebrow at his response before he handed Jamie to me. "Dad and the twins have class all day, Grandpa Sirius and Grandpa Remus are working, Grandfather Lucius and Grandmother Narcissa are on holiday, and Jeffrey is looking after his Grandma Molly for a few hours. I have a few errands to run in town and I can't really bring Jamie with me, so I thought you might want to bond with your granddaughter."
"Wally, I appreciate the thought of using me as a last resort babysitter, but I am busy as well."
"You just said you needed a break! And besides, you never spend time with Jamie. Dad always helps me take care of her. And I hate to say it Father but..."
"But what, Wallace?" I knew where he was going with this and my eyes narrowed.
"Well... You aren't quite as young as you once were and Jamie is gonna want to have some memories with her grandfather. Imagine how upset you would be with yourself if you, Merlin forbid, were to up and die on us and she never got to know you."

I knew he was going to say that.
I sighed and looked at the child in my lap who had been staring at me. She smiled behind her dummy and tried grabbing my hair. I held her hand instead and she began to play with my finger, as my father did to me when I was Jamie's size.
"Fine. But never use that 'you're getting old' excuse again. I am hardly older than your dad and I am in peak health."
"Yeah but can you touch your toes without something making noise?"
"Go run your damn errands, Wallace!" I threw a pen at him as he ran from my office, dropping a bag of Jamie's things beside the door as he fled. I let out one final sigh before smiling at my granddaughter. "Now then, why don't we get you out of your coat and we can read a story?"
She smiled at me and tried grabbing my hair again, this time succeeding, before she gave it a pull.
"Ow."
BLAIRE POV
"Ugh! Why do we have so much homework!" I slammed my fist on the library table before hearing a loud shushing noise from that old crow Madame Pince. I rolled my eyes before looking at the rest of my friends, specifically the twins. "Even your dad gave us too much to do."
"Well we are taking our O.W.L.s this term, Blaire," Rick said as he placed a loose piece of hair behind my ear. I sighed and leaned my head on his shoulder before hearing giggles erupt from Ronnie.
"What?" I asked with a small glare.
"I don't know why you two don't just date. You act like you are already." Everyone else nodded or made noises of agreement before I stood up and started to grab my things. "Where are you going?"
"To the Gryffindor common room where I don't have to listen to you lot and your wild thoughts!" I snapped in a whisper before leaving quickly.
I'm still upset over Albus. I love that he and Zach have made a way to make this work with Scorp also, but it is hard watching the boy you loved for three years be with another person. Although, I suppose I wasn't always only stuck on Al.

~~FLASHBACK TO BLAIRE'S SECOND YEAR~~
I had just finished eating with everyone else, as we had a giant family dinner tonight, and was walking back to the common room with Jeffrey, Roy, and Rick. We had entered through the portrait and the two seventh year boys went up to bed while Rick and I stayed downstairs in the empty room, to start on a charms essay.
"What was the name of the dancing-feet spell, again?" I asked Rick as I continued to write.
"Tarantallegra." He replied absent mindedly as he just stared at the paper.
"You alright there, Rick?" I asked as I noticed his lack of essay on the parchment.
"Yeah, I just... Do you like anyone?"
"What is this all of a sudden?" I felt my face get hot as he smiled sadly.
"Thought so. Me too."
"And what does that have to do with anything?"
"Well... I want to tell this girl how I feel but... I want to do it in a bold way."
"What would that be?"
"I want to kiss her." I stared at him in shock before he looked away blushing. "But that is where things go wrong. I've never kissed anyone before so I have nothing to say if I am bad or not. And I don't want to embarrass myself in front of her."
"I can understand that. I wish I could kiss the boy I like, but I've never had my first kiss either." I sighed as I played with the end of my quill. We sat in silence for a few moments before he slapped the table and smiled.
"I've got it!"
"What do you get?"
"What if we were each other's first kiss?"
"Wh- what? You're mental."
"Think about it. We can use each other as practice so we can tell our crushes later. It would just be two friends helping each other out!"
"When there is a chance one if not both of our brothers could walk downstairs? As well as any other Gryffindor?"
"We can sit on the couch and if we hear someone coming, we can drop to the ground and pretend to be doing our homework. It's brilliant!"
"I don't know, Rick."
"Blaire, think about it! We both want to be the best we can be at confessing to our crushes and we want to be able to kiss them as a confession. Besides, we have known each other long enough that it won't be weird. Hell, your dad and Zach and Sarah's mum dated before and they are fine now."
"Oh... Fine if you will shut up." We moved over to the couch and placed our books and other materials on the carpet before sitting next to each other.
We stared at each other for a moment before he smiled nervously at me, myself doing the same. He placed a bit of my hair behind my ear and leaned closer. I leaned forward as well until our lips made contact. We had both closed our eyes and stayed like that for only a few moments before pulling away.
"How was it?" He asked nervously. I smiled and shrugged.
"I don't have anything to compare it to remember?" We both laughed and continued to practice for around another half hour, stopping only when we heard someone coming and started doing our homework, quickly.
~~FLASHBACK END~~
I snapped out of my thoughts and noticed I had absentmindedly placed a hand on my lips before shaking my head and stepping through the portrait hole, going to my room to work on my assignments.

Ode to Fallen Angels
Jericho, the land of humanity, squirms in pain. Magic has been forbidden for so long in this so called "Age of Silence", that all Arcane knowledge has been presumed lost and irrecoverable, and the echoes of God's Will grow fainter with every passing year. The sight of Demihuman caravans is less frequent every day, as the likes of orcs and elves have learned to no longer beg for help from those who despise them. Clearly, they can expect more from the voracious wild lands than from humankind. Many have succumbed to despair, some driven mad by their fruitless efforts to bring back a Golden Age that they only ever read about in books. And in the middle of it all, in an old chapel lost in the Eastern lands, young Gabrielle lives in complete ignorance. She is another orphan living under the mercy of the Church of the Saints; one bearing the mark of evil in her red hair, the telltale sign of a Witch. In an Age of the Silent, the Prejudiced, and the Hateful, she clings to a single hope: that one day, be it in life or maybe after it all ends, she may find herself forgiven of her sin. The sin of being born.
