"How'd you make it into the common room?" I ask Luna as we approach the great hall.

"Sheer luck," she responds with a grin.

I laugh as I imagine Luna sneaking into the Slytherin common room.

Once we arrive at the great hall Cedric waves us down to join him.

Cedric greets me with a kiss on the cheek and says hello to Luna as she takes a seat on the other side of me. "Excited?" I ask him noticing his jittery leg.

"Not really, I'm more nervous than excited to hear what Dumbledore has to say."

I look around the room and notice how much emptier it was. There were no lower-class-men just some fifth years and all the sixth and seventh years. Before I could share this new information with Cedric Dumbledore rises to his feet and walks to the podium.

"Hello students," Dumbledore starts. "I won't prolong this more than necessary as I know you all must be eager to start breakfast, so I'll just get on with it. This year we have the extraordinary honor of hosing the Triwizard Tournament! An event that has not been held for over a century. This tournament started as a friendly rivalry between Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang. Out of the three schools one student was selected from each to represent their schools throughout the entirety of the tournament."

"This tournament started as a way for young wizards and witches to bond with one another, but as time went on, the tournament became deemed unsafe and dangerous and the number of deaths were adding up and it simply could not keep going in good conscience. Until now of course! It has been deemed safe by the Department of International Magical Cooperation and Magical Games and Sports."

"Alright enough history," Dumbledore announces clapping his hands. "Here's the one thing you have to know: you must be 17 years of age or older to enter the tournament. The winner of the Triwizard Tournament wins the Triwizard cup, glory from each and everyone, and a thousand galleons!"

I look over at Cedric who has the biggest grin on his face. Shit, he's definitely going to enter.

"Everyone who is of age will get a chance to 'sign up', but before that can happen, we have to wait for the arrival of our fellow schools: Beauxbatons and Drumstrang. I believe that's all there is to say," Dumbledore announces. "You may proceed with your breakfast!"

The whole hall erupts with shouting, cheering and excitement as Dumbledore takes his seat among the rest of the teachers.

"Are you entering?" Both Cedric and I ask each other at the same time.

I let out a nervous laugh, "I'm 98% sure that I wont be," I respond.

I almost wanted to just say no, but something could possible sway me, though it would take a lot to convincing for me to enter. I'm a very logical thinker and once Dumbledore had spoken of a death count there was no way I was thinking of entering such a dangerous tournament.

"And you?" I ask.

"Most definitely," Cedric grins. "Why aren't you going to enter?"

I scoff, "The question is why are you going to."

"I'd gain glory, money and be known as the Triwiazrd champion, why wouldn't I?"

"Since when do you ever care about glory Ced?" I ask gently moving his hair away from his face.

"I don't! That isn't me."

"I know. So, why then?"

"Because it'd be fun, it'd be like a Quidditch tournament," Cedric muses. "I love a good competition, you out of all people should know that."

I couldn't deny that what he was saying was true, "Alright, I suppose if you look at it that way, but what about the death toll?"

"Y/n, they wouldn't have reinstated the tournament if it wasn't safe," Cedric replies.

"I don't know Ced, it just all seems so—risky."

Cedric gently cups my face in his hands and kisses the tip of my nose, "It'll be fine. Enter with me if you're so worried."

I shake his hands off my face, "You're crazy." Cedric laughs in response.

Just because I don't want to enter, doesn't mean Cedric doesn't have to enter as well. I'm sure I'll come around to the idea of him entering, its just hard to grasp right now.

I give Cedric a quick kiss on the lips before excusing myself.

I saunter over to the Slytherin table and take a seat next to Blaise slightly bumping shoulders with whoever was next to him. "Sorry," I mumble over at them without looking.

"Blaise are-"

"Ahem."

I turn around to my other side and see Draco smirking down at me, "Watch. It. Y/l/n."

"Oh fuck off Malfoy," I say rolling my eyes before turning my attention back to Blaise.

"Glad to see you two are back to normal," Blaise announces.

I shrug off the comment, "Are you entering?"

"Hell no, I'm not trying to cut my life short," Blaise affirms looking at me like I was crazy for even asking him.

"Thank Merlin, at least someone has some sense. I was trying to tell Cedric that, but he just doesn't see it that way."

Blaise shrugs, "I'm not surprised."

"What's that suppose to mean?" I press.

"Y/n, every guy wants a chance to prove himself. I'm sure a lot of people are going to try and compete, there's nothing wrong with him wanting to compete. Some guys just love a good rivalry."

I hum letting Blaises words wash over me.

"Trust me I know I'm right, I'm a guy. But, if you still don't believe me then just talk to Diggory. I'm sure he'll tell you why," Blaise advises.

"I already did, and that's basically what he said," I respond.

"Then he isn't lying and he's doing it for him, and the reasons he's stated," Blaise affirms. "Satisfied?"

"Partially," I reply.

"Just go talk to him then! Holding your doubts back from him isn't going to solve anything it's just going to peck away at you Y/n."

I sigh, knowing he's right, "I gotta go." But before I stand to leave I poke Draco on the shoulder knowing it would annoy the hell out of him to be poked.

Draco immediately turns to face me, "Oh, it's you."

"Yes it's me Draco," I sigh.

I notice his eyes soften at the sound of his name.

Draco drops the bully act exhaling sharply, "What's up Y/n?" He says as dreadfully as possible.

"Are you entering?"

I know I was out of line to ask that and he didn't have to answer me, but I'll always care about Draco and his well-being.

"Not my style," Draco responds.

I wave of relief washes over me. "Good," I say before standing.

But before I turn to go I feel Dracos hand wrap around my wrist, "Worried about me?"

"I'll always be worried about you, you thickhead," I playfully tease.

Draco avoids the sentiment, "Are you entering?" he asks tightening his grip on my wrist.

I gently pull his hand off my wrist and give him my definite answer before whisking away to the commons.

As I climb up the stairs that lead to the girls dormitories I spot a familiar face in a not so familiar uniform.

Could it be? No, it couldn't.

"Pansy?" I call out to the girl ahead of me, unsure of myself.

The girl with long jet black hair hesitantly turns to my direction. "Y/n?"

"Pansy!"

We both run up to each other meeting halfway embracing one another.

"Shit, Pansy it's been years since I last saw you! How're you tell me everything—wait why are you here? I thought Beauxbatons wasn't going to arrive till later."

"No, we're here now, surprise," Pansy says adding fake jazz hand. "And you weren't suppose to see me. We aren't technically staying at Hogwarts, well we are but we'll be staying in our carriages. I just had to use the restroom and I wanted an excuse to see the inside of home again."

"So you don't have time to talk then?" I ask sadly.

Pansy thinks about it for a moment before answering, "Fuck it, for you I'll always have time."

I smile and reach for her hand dragging her into my room, sitting her at the edge of my bed beside me.

"Whole room to yourself?" Pansy questions.

"Dumbledore owes me," I shrug.

"SPILL!"

"Don't worry, I'll get to it."

I knew damn well we wouldn't get to that story, not today at least. I didn't realize how much of Pansys energy I missed. I wasn't friends with any other Slytherin girls throughout my whole time at Hogwarts and sure she'd get under my skin, but that was three years ago, we're older now.

I could definitely tell that Pansy underwent some changes, she wasn't nearly as bitchy as she used to be and she wasn't as rude, or selfish. Her childishness had worn off, but she was still Pansy of course, sassy as ever and still short tempered. I liked her that way though.

I told Pansy as much as I could about my life since the moment she had left. I tried to tell her as much as I could in 15 minutes. I didn't want to keep her longer than 20, and I needed 5 minutes to discuss my current problem at hand. I'm hoping she stays around and we're able to catch up with ease and time.

I told her ever-so-briefly about my relationship with Draco and Cedric, my new friends: Luna, Hermione, Ron and Harry. And as much as I wanted to tell her every single detail about everything I couldn't, not now.

"So now you know," I say.

"Wow—um that was a shit ton of shit that happened. I can't believe I missed all of that, damn."

"Trust me, I haven't even told you the most important things, but they'll be time for that—later," I say.

"I'm holding you to that."

I knew I was on a time limit, but I just needed to know about her love life because let's face it, romance is the most interesting thing to discuss.

"Before I approach you about a serious issue I'm having as we speak, I need to know...are you dating anybody?"

"I see I've taught you well, you've learned to ask the important questions when we're low on time," Pansy announces with a sly smile.

"Sorry, I don't meant to rush us, but I don't want you getting into trouble, plus I still have class—"

"It's cool babe, relax," she says with an easy smile. "Yes, I am dating someone."

"Who?! It's not like I'll know who anyway, but still!" I grin.

Pansy laughs at my eagerness, "Fleur Delacour," she says proudly.

I blink, "Yup, I have absolutely no idea who that is, fill in the gaps please."

Pansy smiles, "I met Fleur at Beauxbatons. We sort-of had a whole rivalry thing going on last year, but that anger and annoyance towards each other quickly turned into—love. It's your typical enemies to lovers arc."

"Yup, I could definitely see that happening," Pansy laughs. "You're basically living a whole romance novel aren't you?"

"I suppose one could say that," she says batting her eyes jokingly.

"Well, I'm happy for you. I can't wait to meet her."

"And I can't wait to introduce her," Pansy says. "Time's running out, is there something you needed to tell me? You said something about a 'serious issue'?"

"Yes! I do have a problem."

"SPILL!"

I gave Pansy the run down of the whole situation and I even told her what Blaise said about the whole thing to which she agreed with. I also gave her a bit more information about Cedric so that she could give her best opinion as to what she believed was happening.

"Boy, Malfoy really did a number on you, didn't he?" Pansy announces.

"No, he didn't," I affirm seriously. "I always trusted Draco, until of course he broke it. And as for Cedric, I trust him."

"So if you trust Cedric what's the issue?" Pansy asks. "You don't believe his reasoning for wanting to join the Triwizard Tournament, but you trust him?"

"No, that's not it!"

"Then what?"

"I just dont want him t—to d—die," I admit, swallowing the lump in my throat.

"Y/n, death is all around us," Pansy says placing her hands on top of mine. "I honestly don't believe that Cedric would die during the tournament. I mean you heard Dumbledore, he said it was safe now. But I understand your doubts, you love him, so of course you'll worry. As much as I hate to agree with Blaise, he's right. Talk to Cedric, tell him this, he'll know just what to say and it'll make you feel better when you hear the words coming from his mouth."

"You're right," I say looking up at her. "I'm so glad to have you back," I mutter giving her hand a squeeze. "Please don't ever leave."

Pansy lets out a pained laugh, "I'll come back for graduation, I promise."

I smile fighting the tears as I lean in to hug her. Of course her coming back for graduation wasn't enough, I wanted her here with me. But we both knew that wasn't going to happen. Things are so different now and she couldn't change a major aspect of her life for me, I wouldn't want her to either.

Pansy gently pulls away placing her hands back onto her lap, "I think we're well over our time limit, don't you?"

I nod.

Pansy stands to her feet before blowing me a dramatic kiss as she walks out the door.

Once Pansy leaves I take a minute to clean myself up before walking over to Cedrics room. I'm ready to tell Cedric my doubts and regardless of what he says or what happens, I'm going to give him my full support because I love him.

Once I arrive in the Hufflepuff commons I walk up to Cedrics room and only knock once before the door opens.

"Y/n!" Cedric exclaims pulling me into a tight embrace lifting me off the ground. I wrap my legs around his abdomen and allow him to engulf me and hold me close.

Cedric rests his forehead against mine walking into his room closing the behind him before leaning me against the wall as he still held me.

"Where'd you go? I went looking for you everywhere," Cedric says his voice filled with worry as he kisses my shoulders.

"I ran into Pansy," I say dropping my head back against the wall.

"Pansy?" Cedric says meeting my eyes. I nod.

Cedric gives me a look before returning to kissing my shoulders working his way up to my neck. "Y/n I've thought about, and it's ok. If you don't want me to compete I won't, I just want you to be happy."

I bite my lower lip as he kept working on my neck, but after a moment I gently pull away and unbuckle myself from his abdomen and onto my feet.

"What's wrong?"

"Cedric I want you to compete," I announce looking up at him.

"I thought you didn't want me to?"

"Well I don't," I say with a tight smile. "Because I don't want you to die."

Cedric laughs quietly before kissing my temple, "Y/n, I don't intend on dying anytime soon, plus Dumbledore said it was safe and so did the Ministry. I don't see how much safer it could get."

"I know I sound irrational, but I just got you and I don't want to loose you," I say kissing his rosy cheek.

"You won't, you'll be with me every step of the way Y/n. With your help, there's no way I'd be in danger," he laughs to himself.

"Goof," I chuckle.

"Your goof."

"Always."

"So are we doing this thing?" Cedric asks, looking down at me with a grin.

"Yes, we are," I smile.

Cedric leans down to kiss me and pulls me up just above his waist as I wrap my legs around him.

"I love you," he whispers.

"I love you too."

Cedric didn't want to be a Triwizard champion if he didn't have me by his side. He wanted us to be in it together, he wanted me to be with him every step of the way, and I would be. I'd always be with him. And I knew that even if he did, or didn't, have me by his side, Cedric was going to be the best Triwizard champion.
