《Malfoy v. Diggory (reader x draco malfoy x cedric diggory x reader love story)》chapter 51

Even though at the end of last year all fifth year scholars were told to only take classes that will help advance them towards their career I decided I would take one 'fun' class. A class where the work load wouldn't be too heavy and the lectures wouldn't be too bore-some.
I chose to take Divination this year alongside with Blaise. We planned it out so that we could at least have one class together and since there weren't many students taking Divination their sixth year it was very likely we would have the same class.
I walk into Divination immediately loving the classroom vibes. The room wasn't set up like a usual classroom, there were no uncomfortable chairs and big wooden desks, rather there were these small red cushions on the floor, two to a table. And there were small, circular tables with red table cloths hanging over them. Finally, atop each table rested a crystal ball.
I take a seat next to Blaise greeting him with a warm smile.
Once most of the students find a seat our teacher abruptly stands from her desk closing her big binder that's stuffed to the max with papers, some even sticking out.
"H-H Hello all! I'm Professor Trelawney, your Divination teacher for the year."
Our Divination Professor seemed a bit skittish and all over the place. Of course the only thing I could judge her from so far was her outfit and introduction. But she seemed like a nice teacher overall, very passionate about what she teaches.
"Today my dears, we will be learning about the stars and planets and what they have to say about our future."
I wasn't sure about Blaise and his reasoning for wanting to take this class, maybe just so we could see each other. But I genuinely found interest in this subject though many people found it silly.
At the end of class every student was given a chart to do as homework to figure out where each planet was aligned when they were born. Supposedly this would have something to say about our futures.
"So, what did you make of Trelawney and Divination?" I ask Blaise as we start to pack up our things before heading off to our next class.
"To be honest the subject seems looney to me," Blaise shrugs. "I mostly just joined because you asked, but the class doesn't seem like it'll be all that hard."
"Aww Blaise, you joined this class just for me?" I mock, batting my eyes.
Blaise rolls his eyes, "Oh, shove off."
I laugh playfully punching his arm.
"What class do you have next?" Blaise asks.
I hum as I pull out my schedule from the side pocket of my bag, it's still the first week back so I haven't completely memorized my schedule yet.
"Potions."
"Potions with Draco?" Blaise teases.
I sigh, "What do you mean Potions with Draco?"
"It's just a joke Y/n," he laughs. "You know since you two always had Potions together."
"Oh yeah, right."
"Don't worry though, he won't bother you," Blaise says meeting my eyes.
I nod.
"I'll catch up with you later Y/n. We don't all have Potions with Draco," Blaise says with a grin before parting ways with me.
I saunter down the halls to Snapes class arriving there just in time.

As I stand by the entrance of the class I scan the room for an empty seat and my options of who to sit by.
As my eyes dance around the room they lock with Dracos.
Unsure of what to do I send him a small smile to which he responds with by breaking the contact and looking back down at his desk.
"Ms. Y/l/n you're choosing a seat, not a husband," Professor Snape says as he approaches me with his cape flowing behind him.
Snape gently prods me by the shoulder nudging me into the closest empty seat before whisking back to the center of the classroom barking orders at us.
I hesitantly turn to my desk mate when I believe his attention to be on something other than me, it's Ron!
"Ron!" I whisper-shout from the excitement of getting placed by a friend rather than a stranger.
Ron widens his droopy eyes focusing them in on me.
"Oh! hey Y/n!" Ron announces loudly.
"Mr. Weasley!" Snape barks pausing his lecture, turning back to Ron.
"S-S Sorry," Ron says lowering his head.
I do my best to hide my laugh scared that Snape will see me and yell at me too.
"Bugger off Y/n, it wasn't that funny," Ron whispers resting his chin on the table.
I shift my attention to the front of the classroom and begin following along.
"...Today we will be learning about Amortentia," Snape says as he slowly approaches the black cauldron at the front of the class.
"Amortentia," Snape drawls. "Amortentia is the most powerful love potion to date. This potion will smell different to each one of you. It will smell of who attracts you the most."
"Would anyone be willing to give it a try?" Professor Snape asks his eyes slowly moving from student to student.
Silence.
"No one?" he asks raising a brow. "What a shame."
"Ms. Y/l/n, come on up," Snape says with a taunting smile.
As soon as my last name leaves his mouth I feel my cheeks and the tips of ears flush red. Of course, it would be me, I just had to draw attention to myself at the start of class. But so did Ron! Why me?!
I hesitantly climb off my stool and draw out the walk up to the front of the classroom as much as I can with everyones eyes following me, which only made me more uneasy. I hate being the center of attention.
I reach the cauldron that stands beside Snape, I take in a big whiff of the potion still keeping a good distance away from it just in case Snape was planning on poisoning me.
My nostrils fill with the scent of cedar-wood, papyrus, oakmoss and sunkiss all tied into a warm summers day.
Recognizing the familiar scent I open my eyes and take a step back.
Merlin! My Amortentia smells like Cedric!
I bite the inside of my cheek as I try to contain my smile. I wouldn't want Snape to think I'm actually enjoying his class.
I take one last big whiff from the cauldron before turning on my heels.
"Ms. Y/l/n," Snape calls.
I turn stopping mid way to my seat.
"Yes?"
"You not only have to smell your Amortentia, but you must share what your Amortentia smells like," he announces, clearly giddy about me having to spill who I find attractive.

Weird old man.
"I don't think my love life would interest you Professor Snape," I hedge, turning to face him.
Snape starts towards me slightly lowering his voice, "Its either you share, or a detention Ms, Y/l/n. The choice is yours."
He whisks back to the cauldron holding a powerful gaze with me.
I absolutely hate this man.
I walk back to the front of the classroom and smell my Amortentia once more before answering a loud, "I smell, cedar-wood, papyrus and—orange."
I wasn't going to completely expose myself in front of my peers, so I added a random scent, the first I could think of.
"See Ms. Y/l/n, that wasn't so hard," Snape says. "Now go sit."
I turn on my heels rolling my eyes as I head back to my chair.
"So, who smells like that?" Ron asks enthused.
"Your guess is as good as mine," I lie.
Ron starts, "Co-"
"Mr. Weasley, I see you're eager to offer yourself up as a volunteer, come on up," Snape announces.
Rons freckled cheeks flush scarlet before he stomps his way up to the cauldron.
---
At dinner I decide to sit with my Hufflepuff friends Cedric, Luna and a couple of their friends as well.
Everyone serves themselves dinner as they engage in cheery conversation.
Luna shares that today in Care of Magical Creatures Hagrid introduced the class to a new creature: the blast-ended-skrewt. Luna described the creature as a very large insect looking grey thing with several long legs and a long spiky tail that curled up.
Luna plans on being a magizoologist, hence why she kept Care of Magical Creatures as a class this year. Personally, I would've liked to keep the class as well. Care of Magical Creatures was always a laid back class, Hagrid didn't really have test or quizzes, he just taught us about new creatures and how to care for them. Which could end up being dangerous depending on the creature.
I admired Luna for knowing what direction she wanted to take in life after Hogwarts, I on the other hand was still split between being an editor or a legislator. Two very different paths.
Towards the end of dinner Harry stops by our table and asks Luna if she can meet him after dinner, to which she happily obliges to.
I quirk an eyebrow at Luna once Harry disappears back to his table.
"He likes to talk to me sometimes. Harrys got a lot going on inside his brain, he just needs someone to help him organize and make sense of it all," Luna says sweetly.
I hum.
After dinner I offer Cedric to come study with me back at my common room. Obviously I knew it wasn't ideal, but I wasn't going to invite myself to the Hufflepuff common room. And like the gentleman he is, Cedric offers the Hufflepuff room instead, to which I happily agree with.
We settle into the silent yellow common room and take a seat at a secluded nook, sitting at a small round table with two wooden chairs in front of it.
Since we both had just gotten out of our last class of the day before dinner we both had our bags with us.
"Do you want to work together on anything specific?" Cedric asks pulling out a textbook from his bag and resting atop the table.
"Not necessarily, I was just going to work on my Divination work. But if you want to work on something together I'm down," I respond.
"No no, it's fine I won't disturb you," Cedric says with a small smile before starting his work.
I focus in on my Divination assignment and realize that I'll need a textbook that I don't currently have on hand.
I quietly saunter over to a separate room within the commons thats filled floor to ceiling with two large bookcases. Every common room has one of these so that if you forget to checkout a textbook from the library you can borrow one in the meantime.
I scan the spines of each textbook and finally find the one I need: Unfogging the Future.
I take the textbook back to Cedrics and I's nook and resume my assignment.
After about a half hour Cedric sets down his quill and slides his work aside, his eyes studying me.
Without looking up from my Divination homework I chuckle, "Yes Ced?"
"How'd you know I was watching you?" he asks caught off guard.
I put my quill down meeting his eyes, "Can't you tell when someone's staring at you?" I ask.
"I wasn't staring, I was watching," Cedric corrects playfully.
I hum suspiciously.
"So what's up then?" I question crossing my arms.
"Well I'm just curious as to if you smelled your Amortentia in Potions class this week," Cedric asks.
Today's Friday meaning I've been to every class this week, so everyone has already been in Potions and smelled their Amortentia.
I try to steady my breathing and not allow my nerves to give me away, "I did."
"Nice," Cedric grins. "So, who'd your Amortentia smell like?"
My heart begins to thump loudly in my chest, so loud I can barely hear my own thoughts.
"Who did your Amortentia smell like?" I hedge.
Cedric laughs, "Nice try, but I asked you first Y/n."
I playfully huff.
Uncertain of whether I should tell the truth or not I begin to twiddle with my finger under the table.
What if I tell Cedric that my Amortentia smelled like him and his didn't smell like me? That would make me look like the biggest clown.
"Waiting," Cedric chimes, clearly pleased with himself for having put me in such a tuff position.
It's like the longer I took to answer the more confident and annoying Cedric got. Did he know my hesitation stemmed from him?
I suppose it wouldn't be such a crazy thought for him to have. We both know that there's always been some deep affection from each other and that it could stem from something bigger.
Oh hell.
"You."
Cedrics smile widens as his rosy cheeks grow even rosier.
I smile as well finally glad to have admitted it.
We both study each other for a moment before standing in unison meeting each other halfway. Cedric gazes into my eyes before shifting them down to my lips, his grey eyes lingering there.
Unable to wait a second longer I cup his rosy cheek in my hand before sliding it into his caramel hair and meeting my lips with his. He pulls me closer by the waist and glides his hand from my neck to my hair deepening the kiss.
A moment later we pull away and rest or foreheads against one anothers as we smile.
"You have no idea how long I've waited to do that," Cedric whispers, his sweet breath filling the space between us.
I chuckle before kissing him once more.
