《Malfoy v. Diggory (reader x draco malfoy x cedric diggory x reader love story)》chapter 49

I descend down the common room stairs and into hall, I didn't know where I wanted to go, but I just needed to be away, clear my head.
"Y/n wait."
I turn around towards the stairs and see Draco approaching me. He did not look the same as he did two seconds ago. His hair was disheveled, his eyes were swollen and his hand—his hand had been badly injured.
Draco places himself in front of me cupping my face in his hands.
"Y/n please, please don't leave."
He starts peppering kisses all over my face muttering I love you after each one.
"You're mine, you're mine, you're mine," he repeats kissing me. "You can't leave me, because you're mine."
Just as Draco leans in once more I pull away from him , but I moved nowhere, he wouldn't let me go. "Draco no! I said we're done—I'm tired of this," I confess dropping my hands back down to my side feeling tears prick at my eyes.
No more tears.
I shove away all my consuming thoughts and catch both of Dracos wrist in my hand, holding them tight, "Stop," I say tiredly. "Why do you always have to make this so much harder than it needs to be."
He steps away giving me room to breathe, "Because I love you," he says in the softest tone I've ever heard him speak in. "Don't you understand that, don't you love me?" he says reaching for my hand placing it on his chest.
"Draco, of course I love you," I chuckle quietly. "But I'm not in love with you anymore." Draco narrows his eyes at me letting go of my hand. I sigh, reaching back for his hand putting it in mine. "Draco you have hurt me more times than I should've let you and all this time apart really gave me time to think about where I want to be in the future."
"And I'm sorry to say that you aren't in it, not in the way you want at least. I've learned from our time apart and I thought you would've too."
Draco breathes sharply slowly trying to at grasp what I'm saying, "So who's in your future then?"
An influx of thoughts and daydreams consume me, and they were all about the same person. It had been the same person since the start of summer. I had chosen Draco over him once and I wasn't going to do it again, just so that Draco and I could end up right back here in 2 months.
I didn't feel bad that suddenly the future I thought of no longer consisted of Draco, he had hurt me numerous times in numerous ways, there wasn't a chance in hell we could be fixed. But I didn't want to anyway. I was tired.
"It doesn't matter who's in it, what matters is that I'm happy in it and that happiness stems from you no longer being in it Draco," I say as kindly as I can.
"You know I'll never be ok with this," Draco says in a warning voice with no trace of sadness in him anymore.
I didn't care how he felt towards me, he could be angry, he could blame everything on me, as long as he left me alone in the process.
"Goodbye Draco," I say giving him one last smile before walking away.
Me reiterating our break up wasn't so much for me as it was for him. He needed to understand how much we hurt each other and that I'd moved on. But I did gain some closure now that I had said everything I needed to.

I could go on knowing I did all I could to ease Draco into a new world without me and that I had done the best I could at that.
I can wholeheartedly move on.
As I walked saunter down the hallway of the castle I find myself walking towards the Hufflepuff commons. But my room wasn't there anymore I'm in Slytherin.
How embarrassing, I just told Draco goodbye I cant walk back in now!
Maybe I'll just go to the duck pond at Hogsmeade and take bread. Lots of it.
I saunter over to the duck pond that's secluded among many tress with some slices of bread in hand.
I enter through a small opening in the trees and study all the ducks who're waddling about.
"Y/n!"
I turn over to the only bench surrounding the pond and see Luna.
"Luna! What're you doing up so early?" I ask taking a seat beside her.
"I couldn't sleep. It's weird having a new roommate that isn't you," she says. "Why are you up so early? Don't you hate mornings?"
I chuckle, "Yeah I do." I usually don't tell Luna too much about my relationship with Draco because I know she'd rather talk about other things, but I wasn't going to lie to her either. "I was with Draco, we had to talk some things through."
"Oh? Is everything alright?"Luna asks taking a slice of bread from my neat stack.
I nod, "Everything's just as it should be."
"I'm glad to hear, Y/n."
I take a slice of bread as well and start pulling off small chunks to throw at the ducks and into he pond. I don't see how ducks could possibly like soggy bread.
Once we went through all bread the ducks seemed appeased, they wouldn't charge after me this time.
"So what's next?" Luna asks as we stand leaving the small pond.
Luna and I walk over to Hogsmeade to pick up some candy for our friends. I let Luna pick out whatever she wanted as a back-to-school present. I was up buying candies for everyone, I even got a small pouch of lemon drops for Dumbledore. They started carrying them once he suggested the idea.
Once we had all our candies the cashier rang us up for everything.
"Here," I say piling the candies I got for Harry, Hermione and Ron into Lunas arms. "I don't want to spend all day handing out sweets, you're going to see them anyway, right?"
She nods happily accepting the candies.
We make our way back to the castle and I wave goodbye to Luna before heading off to the commons.
I walk into the commons and spot Blaise on the couch with a couple of his mates. I don't want to interrupt his conversation just to give him some candy, I sent him a small smile and before making my way up to his room.
I swing open Blaises door and gasp.
"S-Sorry, I didn't think anyone would be in here...I thought everyone was down in he commons." I respond feeling my cheeks turn red.
Adrian smirks grabbing his shirt, "What's the matter Y/l/n never seen a guy shirtless?"
Adrain puts his shirt on with a grin, "Those for me?" he asks gesturing to the candies.
I roll my eyes, "Bug off Pucey, if you touch these I will hurt you."
"Fine," he mutters crossing his arms.
I place the sack of candies on Blaises nightstand and walk over to a desk searching for parchment.

"That's my desk y/l/n," Adrian says clearly amused.
I didn't indulge him, I just needed a small piece anyway. I find a sheet of paper and tear off the corner of it grabbing a pen from my pocket.
I bought an extra bag so you can give one to Draco,
don't you dare tell him it was from me.
And be nice to him, he'll tell you
what's going on when he can.
-y/n
I fold the small paper in half twice and set it under the pouches of candies on Blaises night stand.
"Why are you just standing there," I say annoyed, heading towards the door.
"What? You're hot," he shrugs.
Men.
I walk out the door and start towards the commons heading out the door into the halls. I stuff the two remaining bags of candies into my robe pockets and make my way to Dumbledores office. I was going to give him the scolding he deserves, I could care less if he's the headmaster or not.
I knock on his door and wait for a response before before entering.
"Come in!" Dumbledore shouts through the other side.
I turn the handle and walk into his office.
"Ah, Ms. y/l/n. How can I help you?" He says inviting me to sit in a chair adjacent of him.
"I'll stand," I respond. "I'm back in Slytherin now, any idea as to how that happened?"
"W-W Well, yes of course! I placed you back in. I could keep you in Hufflepuff if your prefer." Dumbledore says.
"You know who switched my house and you didn't tell me!" He blinks taken aback at my new knowledge. "Lucius Malfoy. Apparently he threatened the safety of the school and you gave in just like that," I say snapping my fingers. "Are you not the strongest wizard Headmaster?"
Strongest wizard my ass.
I force myself to calm down and exhale sharply, "This impacted me greatly, so forgive me if I'm a bit upset. But don't you see? Lucius wanted to toy with my life and keep me away from his son. Why else would he single me out? Didn't that ever strike you as odd?"
I can see him start to scramble for words, but I stop him.
"Don't respond, just let it soak in," I announce.
I reach into my robes and pull out the small pouch of lemon drops placing them on his desk. "This should make up for my insubordination."
I walk out of his office and reflect. Dumbledore couldn't expel and he couldn't even be mad at me if he wanted to, because he knew I was right. Perhaps Lucius threatened him with something else, but that didn't matter. Dumbledore could've done more to stop him and he didn't.
That absolutely infuriated me.
But I'm done with chapter of my life. I said what I needed to to Draco and Dumbledore and I sure as hell wasn't going out of my way to speak to Lucius. It would juts make things worse for Draco, not me.
Merlin this day has been exhausting.
I push all my straining thoughts away and replace them with happy ones, ones of him. I smile to myself as I think of the one person that could make this day better.
I jog over to the Cedrics room eager to see him, I hadn't seen him yesterday or today.
I walk into the bright familiar yellow Hufflepuff common room, I forgot how bright it was in here. I walk up the first set of stairs that lead onto the hall where the girl sleep, then go up the next set of stairs that lead up to the boys dormitories.
I search the for Cedrics name on each of the doors and finally find it at the end of the hall. There was no other name next to his, was he rooming alone this year?
I knock on his door.
"It's open!"
I turn the doorknob and push the door.
Cedric slightly lifts his head off the bed meeting my eyes with a smile.
I walk over to his desk and sit in the chair, "Did I wake you?"
"No, just thinking," he responds. "What's up?" Cedric asks rising to his feet as he ruffles his hair back into place, walking over to sit in front of me on his bed.
"Just wanted to see you," I shrug.
"Miss me already?" he teases.
I roll my eyes playfully, "I'm just tired and wanted to stop by before I went to bed. Oh! I also go you these," I say taking out a couple boxed chocolate frogs and placing them on the desk.
"That's sweet of you y/n," Cedric smiles. "Do you want to stay? You seem stressed and tired, which might add up to you staying up all night."
I chuckle, remembering the night we bumped into each other.
"No, I don't think I should," I sigh. "I don't-"
"Not even if we watch a movie?" Cedric asks nodding to the left of him towards the wall.
I turn into the motioned direction and see a tv resting atop his dresser.
I jump to my feet, "Ced! How'd you get one of these?"
"Burbage owed me," he says with a cheeky smile. "So what do you say?"
"Alright, but I'm picking the movie," I say approaching the tv. "Do you have any movies?"
Cedric laughs, "I can't not have movies if I have tv y/n."
He walks over to his dresser and pulls out the top drawer that's filled with an assortment of movies. Cedric pulls out a couple stacks.
"Take your pick, I haven't seen any of them yet. The lady at the muggle store recommended them all."
My eyes trail through the assortment and one immediately strikes my eyes. Coraline.
I pick up the dvd box and show it to Ced to see if he was in agreement with my choice. He nods taking the box and pulling out the disc placing it in the dvd player.
Cedric observes the dvd box once more, "Have you seen this? It looks—peculiar."
I laugh, "That's what makes it so great Ced."
I walk back towards his bed and rest on my stomach facing the tv resting my face in my palms. Cedric does the same.
"Ready?" he asks.
I smile nodding at him.
He was the person I saw in my future. Whether it be as friends or more. I couldn't ever bear to lose him. He was all I could think about over the summer, I missed him more than I would ever let on when I wrote to him. I wonder if he felt the same.

8 136Beatrice Santello
An adult imagining of Beatrice Santello's life prior to the events of Night in the Woods. There are no explicit depictions of sex here, though there are obviously adult themes and situations involving it. I wasn't going to post it to Royalroad as I didn't think Fanfiction was okay here - but now I see it is and I am quite convinced it is the best work I've ever done yet, I've got to see what any fans of NitW think about it! The first chapter was originally written as a short vignette and wasn't intended to be continued into a full blown story. It was just intended to be moody and evocative. Even though anyone that has played Night in the Woods has a good idea how this must end, I hope it will still be worth the read. Also, since I've finished writing it, I'm going to post it as one big chapter dump all at once. Cover drawing by GreasyMojo and colored by me (with permission!). I don't think it should be too risque on it's own but I suppose I'll soon find out.
