Ever since Cedric got his sling off he has been so ecstatic to get back to Quidditch. There was only one more game left for the Hufflepuffs since we sadly didn't make it to the finals. Cedric invited to a couple of his practices every so often, so that he wouldn't have to worry about me mopping around in my room all day. He claimed I needed some fresh air and what better way to do it than to watch him practice. Being a Quidditch enthusiast I of course said yes, it was nice to see him worried about me when he didn't have to.

I was still a bit raw from the break up, but things were getting better. I think the major cause of that was that thankfully Draco was keep his distance, well 70% of the time he did. He would and still seeks me out every so often asking what he can do so that we could go back to how things were. It would have been easy to fall back into a familiar pattern of comfort and say yes, but I knew it wasn't right. We weren't right.

Slowly, but surely my new relationship with Draco was starting to become familiar. Not a relationship rather, but just how things were between us now ever since the break up. We certainly weren't close anymore, though on occasion he'd do his best to convince me otherwise.

After my last class of the day I head back to my dorm to get ready for Cedrics practice. The weather outside was gloomy with constant rain, but light rain, rain that didn't hurt when it hit you. Cedric was surprised that I would still go to his practice despite the rain, but I loved the rain, it would make his practice more enjoyable for me.

As I walk into my room I'm immediately hit with the sweet smell of Luna and I's favorite candle from Honeydukes.

"Luna, you're suppose to wait till we're in the room together to burn the candle. I want to savor it as much as I can too." I say with a tinge of sadness as I close the door.

"I did though y/n. I sensed you would be arriving soon so I figured why not have it ready when you walk in." She responds with an innocent smile.

I slightly shake my head and open my closet in search of a hoodie to keep me dry. "I'm going to Cedrics practice again this week. Would you like to join me?" I ask still shifting through my clothing options.

"Hmmm. Tempting," Luna says shifting off her bed. "But I still have to write that love letter to Neville. Rons been nice enough to extend the dare. I've just been too nervous to do it is all."

I turn back and see Luna at her desk sifting through her papers as she tries to clear off her desk. I grab my water-resistant hoodie and walk towards her. "Just write what you feel Luna, I'm sure he feels the same. I've seen you together and it's the sweetest thing, I'm sure he feels something."

Luna sighs. "Maybe you're right, I think I'm just nervous."

"You're allowed," I say popping my hoodie on. "You'll be more than fine." I reassure placing my hand atop of hers for a second before pulling away. "And if you get done early or need help just come to the Quidditch field."

Luna takes her seat at her desk gathering a quill and parchment. I slip out of the room and leave her alone with her thoughts.

As I walk out of the common room I prop my hood on and stuff my hand into the hoodie pocket. It's so refreshing to see a constant light drizzle around the castle, it makes everything feel more happier rather than gloomy. Though I know several people who'd disagree with me.

I walk down the cobbled halls occasionally stepping in a small puddles of water and leaving footprints behind me. As I reach the unroofed area of the school that leads down to the Quidditch field I feel someone take my hand making me spin towards them placing me right in their arms. In order to stabilize myself I tightly clutch onto the persons hand trying to refrain from falling onto the wet ground. I look up and see an all too familiar smirk.

"How are you love?" Draco asks still holding onto me. "I have to say, I didn't think you'd be so eager to see me."

I look at him in confusion before I realize that I was still clutching onto his hand tightly. I abruptly pull away from him and take a step back crossing my arms. "What do you want Malfoy."

"Not very friendly are we?" Draco says with a coy smile as he starts to walk around me. "Have you changed your mind yet?"

I scoff, "If you're referring to our relationship, no. And I suggest you stop bugging me." I announce in a huff as I start towards the field.

"I'll always be here if you change your mind y/n." Draco adds in a sing song voice making me stop in my tracks.

I turn back to him and make no effort to advance towards him. "I wouldn't hold my breath Draco."

I storm off in the direction of the field leaving Draco behind to mull things over, yet again. He hasn't completely accepted things yet and I don't know what it's going to take so that he does. I looked down at my hand and examine the serpent ring. I could always give him back his ring, he'd be sure to leave me alone if I did since he knows how symbolic it is. But I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing.

Maybe it was just time to put it away.

I walk onto the vacant stands and observe Cedric and his teammates getting ready for practice. I immediately feel a sense of calmness wash over me and forget about all my Draco problems. I lock eyes with Cedric from across the field and exchange a warm smile. Cedric getting excited over Quidditch is the sweetest thing.

I stayed for the entirety of Cedrics practice. He's honestly one of the best seekers I've seen play dare I say the best. The team is lucky to have such an accomplished player like him. The practice drawled on for two hours but I stayed nonetheless. Ced has fun playing the game, I have fun watching the game.

Once everyone starts to lower themselves onto the field and dismount their brooms I start to climb down the stands to wait for Cedric on the field. He looks back at me pausing his conversation with the teammates to hold one finger up to me. I nod.

A couple minutes later Cedric walks out of the locker room by himself being the first of the team to leave.

"Did you enjoy my practice today?" Cedric asks as he joins my side.

"Always, especially that one move you did in the last play. It was pretty clean," I say with a smile as we walk off the field and back to the commons.

"I'm glad you noticed, I just started practicing it, but I think it's perfect already," he says with a proud grin.

---

"What're your plans for the rest of the night?" Cedric asks me as we walk into the commons.

I shrug, "I'll probably just hang around down here and read."

"Mind if I come join you in a bit?"

"Not at all," I respond.

"Great, be back soon then." Cedric walks off to the start of the stairs and ascends them skipping a stair as he goes.

Once I go up to my dorms to take a quick shower and change into some comfier clothes I head down to the first floor of the common with my book. A book of my choosing though, not a school book.

I walk back into the empty commons taking a seat on the yellow couch and curl up into the corner of it resting against the arm of the couch. As I settle into reading New Moon I start to wonder where I had left Twilight. I couldn't recall that it was in my stuff or along with all any of my other books. And then it clicked, surely Draco had taken it from my room without asking. I sigh at the loss of my favorite book but continue on with the book in hand.

After having read about twenty pages I see Cedric out of the corner of my eye coming down the stairs. He shakes out his wet hair, combing a hand through it as he made his way towards me.

Cedric glides effortlessly onto the couch landing himself directly next to me. As soon as he took his seat it seemed like he was going to ask me something, but then thought better of it. He probably remembered my biggest pet peeve: people interrupting me when I read. Rather he just sent me a small smile causing me to peer up from my book for a second to return it.

He then twirls his book in his hand and pops it open. But before he starts reading he props my free arm up that's hanging at my side and leans against me placing my arm around him. Cedric looks up at me once more to see if this new position was alright. He took my silence as a token that it was ok for him to do so, and it was.

I focus back on my book as Cedric starts his book opening it to his book-marked page. We stayed there in each others company as we read for a few hours before deciding it was best to call it a night.

"What's this book that you're reading?" Cedric asks as he sits up and closes his own. "I wanted to ask you earlier, but I didn't want to interrupt you."

I chuckle at his considerateness. "It's called New Moon." Cedric looks at me a bit confused. "It's a muggle book, mum bought it for me a couple years back."

"Is it any good?" He asks as we stand to our feet and approach the steps leading up to our dorms.

"It's my favorite saga, but it's not for everyone." I respond clutching onto the railing as we walk up.

"Think I'd like it?" Cedric asks quirking an eyebrow.

"Highly doubt it," I laugh.

He stops at the front of my dorm. "I'll see you tomorrow y/n, rest well." Cedric says before turning on his heels to walk to his dorm.

As I walk into my dorm I'm met with the quiet snores of Luna fading in and out. I set my book back into my trunk with all the rest of my books and sit on it as I ponder.

I want to be done with Draco, I want him to know that there's nothing romantic between us any longer and that there likely wouldn't be ever again. Of course I still love him that's not something that goes away so easily, if at all. And I'm sure he loves me too but...in a very different way that wasn't acceptable.

I saunter over to my dresser and pull out the middle drawer. I sigh as I look down and pick up Dracos Quidditch jumper. I still remember the first time I wore it and how warm and fuzzy it made me feel to be wearing something that was his, that smelled like him.

I carefully folded it into my my arms and closed up the dresser before walking out of the room. I descended down the common room stairs and out of the Hufflepuff commons. Proceeding to walk out into the cold, dark night, it was no longer raining out, just muggy.

I mutter the Slytherin password to get in and walk into an empty common room. I walk up the stairs that lead up to the boys dormitories and stop in front of Dracos door. As I held his jumper in my hand I wasn't quite sure where I was going to put it. I could just place it on the ground in front of his door, Draco would surely have a heart attack and probably just end up burning the damn thing.

I observe the crack under his door and see that the lights are off, surely implying that he's asleep.

"Alohamora."

Dracos door opens quietly, without a sound. I walk in cautiously and close the door behind me.

"Lumos."

A small very small dim light came from the tip of my wand. I made sure to hold it down to the floor so that Draco wouldn't be disturbed by the light.

I saunter over to his dresser and place his green Quidditch jumper on his dresser leaving it neatly folded. I looked behind me and observed Draco peacefully sleeping in his bed with a calm expression locked onto his face.

I look over to his nightstand and after squinting hard enough to read the name of the book I soon read out: Twilight. He had stolen it. I smile to myself at the thought of him secretly slipping into my room to take it. I could take it back, it was mine, but there's really no point in doing so. If he wanted to keep it that would be fine, I've read it plenty of times, memorized it by heart in fact.

I walk across his room to the door and open it as discreetly as I can. I slip out of his room and out of the Slytherin commons to make my way back to my cozy sweet smelling dorm.
