《Malfoy v. Diggory (reader x draco malfoy x cedric diggory x reader love story)》chapter 43

I hear something crack in the distance and immediately lift my head up from my knees. I wipe the tears from my cheek and struggle to my feet. I peer into the hall to check for the noise once more. Nothing. I sniffle and hold back my sobs as I walk back to my dorm.
I gather myself under my covers and let out quiet sobs, my body shivering. Draco and I were over, our years of friendship and our relationship wouldn't be the same anymore. Being friends with him would be hard, something I couldn't even think about right now.
I hear the door click open.
I hesitantly lift the duvet back from my face, partially showing my face. Blaise.
He walks over to me on the bed and sits by my head. Blaise studies me for a second before pulling my head onto his lap. He gently pushes my hair away from my face, soothing me as he focuses ahead. I allow the tears to stream down my face as I nuzzle against him and allow my eyes to close.
"I'm sorry," Blaise sighs under his breath.
I wake up the next morning and have zero motivation to go to class, or to do anything for that matter. I nuzzle against my pillow and conclude that I'd miss school today. Just today.
I hear Lunas light footsteps saunter over to me.
"Are you coming to class today y/n?" She says in a soft tone gently stroking my hair.
"No, not today Luna." I say in a raspy voice.
She hums. "I'll come check on you later for lunch then. I'll leave my stuffed Pygmy Puff with you."
Luna retracts her hand placing the Pygmy Puff on my night stand and leaves the room.
For the better part of the morning I stayed in bed listening to Draco and I's favorite songs on the walkman my mum bought me two Christmases ago. As I listen to our songs I put my left hand out in front of me and study the serpent ring Draco bought me. It's still on the same finger he put it on the first time he gave it to me. I've never taken it off since.
Maybe I should take it off. I don't want things around me that remind me of Draco it'll just make everything that much harder. Or maybe I'll just leave it. A warm tear ripples down. I think I'll leave it.
Around lunchtime Luna brings me lunch and says she would've stayed to eat with me, but she had class immediately after lunch. I told her it was ok and that I was very thankful for the lunch she brought me.
"Anything else you need before I head off?" Luna asks sitting at the edge of my bed.
I gulped knowing that I shouldn't ask, but I couldn't resist.
"Did you s-see Draco? How is he?"
Luna shifts her blue eyes away from gaze. "I saw him in the Great Hall. Didn't pay much attention to him though. But from the looks of it, he seemed off, tired...sort of like you."
I hum. It was comforting to know that this break up wasn't one sided and that Draco was hurting just as much as I was.
"Do you want to go your last class today?" Luna asks in a hopeful tone. "I'll walk you and carry your bag if you'd like."
I shake my head reaching for Lunas blue Pygmy Puff. "I think I'll stay here with this little guy."

"Alright." Luna sighs. "I'll be back soon then."
I stay in bed gently stroking the Pygmy Puff as my eyelids slowly become heavier and I drift off into a slumber.
I hear the door click and slightly sit up on my elbows squinting my eyes as I wake from my nap to see who it is. I soon realize that it's night and the room is completely dark.
"Its just me," Cedric says in soft tone.
I immediately fall back onto my bed. Cedric flickers the lights on and approaches me.
"How are you? I missed you today in class." He says looking down at me.
"I've had better days," I respond.
Cedric hums and notches the blue fluffy orb laying my stomach. "What's this?" he chuckles lifting up Lunas Pygmy Puff.
"It's Lunas," I respond. "She told me to care of him while she went to classes today.
Cedric smiles down at me and places the blue orb on his shoulder.
"Can you do me a favor please?" He asks.
I quirk an eyebrow. "Ced I don't know if you can tell, but I'm not feeling all that well right now." I respond.
"I wouldn't be asking if weren't important y/n. And if I remember correctly, you did say you would do what you could to help me. Since you're kind of the reason my arm is in a sling." Cedric says with a grin.
"That's a low blow Ced."
He stands. "Come on, it won't be all that bad, I promise."
Cedric wouldn't asking if it weren't important and I did feel bad about his arm since I am the reason it's in a sling.
I take a deep breath in, "Alright, fine. I'll go."
I leave the comfort and warmth of my bed and feel the cold air around me as soon as I shove off the duvet. I walk over to my dresser and search for a sweater. I instinctively grab Dracos Quidditch jumper and stop before I can take it out of the drawer. I swallow the lump in my throat and gently place it down in the drawer and reach beside it for my black sweatshirt.
"Ready?" Cedric asks with the Pygmy Puff still on his shoulder.
"Ready as I'll ever be," I respond hugging myself.
Cedric extends his hand out to me waiting for me to join him. I hesitant for a moment before deciding to take his hand. The human contact felt nice, soothing.
"Where are we going anyway?" I ask as we walk down the common room stairs.
"You'll see."
Our journey was short, very short.
"The kitchen?" I ask as he reaches to open the door.
He nods holding the kitchen door open for me.
Cedric walks in after me and proceeds over to one of the large stainless steel fridges opening the freezer side. "I think you said vanilla last time, have you changed your preference since then?"
"I'll just have what your having Ced." I respond.
He nods and reaches for the strawberry ice cream placing it on the large island. He then goes and grabs two bowls from the cupboard as I grab two spoons from a drawer, one for us each and an ice-cream scooper. We meet back at the island with everything.
Cedric sends me a shy smile, "Could you do the honors? Since you know.." he says looking down at his injured arm.

I playfully roll my eyes, "Again with the guilt tripping," I say in a sweet tone reaching over him for the container of ice-cream. I scoop out three full scoops into each bowl and place the spoons in.
This is the first time I've left me room all day and it actually to my surprise felt nice. Being here with Ced having ice-cream. I take a scoop of ice-cream from my bowl and look over at Cedric who has a big grin on his face clearly pleased with himself that he was able to get me out of bed.
"You're lucky Pygmy Puff let you touch him. He doesn't just go with anyone." I say gesturing at the fuzzy thing on his shoulder.
"Oh yeah?" Cedric chuckles taking it off his shoulder and bringing it down to the counter. "Well in that case I think he better go back to his pet sitter then." Cedric places the blue orb on my head balancing it just right so that it wouldn't fall down.
I chuckle as I reach for it and bring it back to down to his shoulder. "It's fine. It looks better on you anyway." I say with a warm smile.
We both return back to our strawberry ice-creams and finish them off.
"So why was it so important that I come with you here?" I ask.
Cedric takes my bowl and stacks it on top of his before he fixes his gaze on me.
"Because I needed to see you smile today."
We both laugh at the cheesy remark.
Cedric walks me back to my dorm and makes me promise that I'll be in class tomorrow. I agreed, it was starting to get miserable spending the whole day by myself in my room just reliving my relationship with Draco.
"I'll meet you here for class tomorrow." He says as we stand outside my room. "Also accompany me to the Madam Pomfreys tomorrow, yeah? If the checkup goes as expected I'll get this sling off."
"Of course Ced. I'll see you tomorrow."
The next day I was rather tired and desperately wanting to stay in bed again. But i did promise Ced that I'd go to class today. I groan and drag myself out of bed.
"Oh great! You're moving again!" Luna chimes.
"Most unfortunately, yes." I respond rummaging through my closet for my robes.
Luna creeps behind me and gives me a quick friendly hug. "Glad to see it. See you in class y/n!" She says walking out the door.
Once I'm done getting ready I head down to the commons and meet Ced as we head off to our first class.
Professor Burbage starts her lecture on chapter 10 of our textbooks. It was clear she was frantic to teach us as much as she could since this year was coming to an end. She instructs us all to take notes on everything since she will be giving us a test soon.
Throughout the lecture my mind starts to bore off and I start doodling on the side of my notes. Flowers. Small flowers with no stems just beautiful petals and their buds. As I start on a new flower I feel Cedric lean into my side.
"Wow are those flowers?" Cedric whispers enthusiastically. "They look awesome."
I give him a small smile. "Thanks."
He places his hand atop the table near me and forms it into a loose fist. "Draw me one."
"On your hand?" I ask a bit surprised.
"Duh," he says playfully. "Hurry before Burbage notices."
"Ced they're not that great."
"Yes they are. And I want one." He says looking down at me. "Please?"
"Alright," I sigh.
I grab his wrist bringing his hand closer to me. I take my purple pen and started working on the back of his hand holding his wrist as I did so to ensure he wouldn't move.
"There," I mutter looking at the flower once more before taking my hand of his wrist.
Cedric lifts his hand up to his face and smiles at it before glancing at me, "Thanks y/n, it's beautiful."
After class I go to the bathroom and tell Cedric that I'll meet him at the hospital wing shortly.
As I saunter down the suspiciously empty, quiet hall I feel my stomach slowly knot. It's so eerie in this hall. As I approach the door the girls bathroom I feel a warmth on my arm and a strong pull. I gasp and find myself in an empty small closet standing incredibly close to Draco.
"Where were you yesterday?" Draco asks placing his hands on the wall above my head. "Blaise said you weren't in Charms."
My breath hitches in my throat. "I-I just didn't go cause I didn't want to that's all."
Draco leans closer. "Why."
I knew he would let it go if I didn't tell him, mind as well get it over with.
"Cause I didn't want to see you," I respond in a shaky tone.
Draco sighs and presses his forehead against mine. "But I wanted to see you." He brings his hand down off the wall to my throat and slides it through my hair. "I miss you."
"I mi—" I stop myself knowing full well what would happen if I said that. I grab his hand and slide it off of me. "Draco we broke up for a reason. I meant what I said, we're done." I say sliding out from underneath him.
I rush out of the closet away from Draco and rush over to the hospital ward to meet Cedric. I didn't want Draco, not anymore. He's hurt me too much. I'm sure of my decision. Once I arrive at the hospital ward I see Cedric seated at a bed and saunter over to stand beside him making sure to not get in Pomfreys way.
"Let me see how the bruises on your abdomen are healing" she says gesturing for Cedric to lift his shirt. Pomfrey examines it and slightly adds pressure to his wounds asking if it still hurt as she did so. He winced a bit. They're still raw.
"Alright those injures are still healing I suppose. I'll get you something for that, you can put your shirt down now." Madam Pomfrey announces. "How's the arm? Think you can function without a sling now?"
"I think so, it feels better," he responds.
Madam Pomfrey had him do a couple exercises with his arm to see how well he could manage without a sling. She casted some diagnostics on his arm and concluded that his arm was well enough to be without a sling. "Alright, I'll go get a couple healing potions for those bruises, I'll be back."
Cedric was finally getting his sling off, thank Merlin.
"I'm sorry you had to be away from Quidditch for two weeks because of me." I say looking at him with guilt. "You only have one more game before the season ends, I'm terribly sorry you had to miss out on all the other ones."
"There's always next year," Cedric says with a tight smile. "And who knows maybe I'll be captain next year."
"With your skills there's not a doubt in my mind." I smile.

Noli Me Tank in a Mall
Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo are important cultural works that ignited the Philippine Revolution against Spain. They are novels that exposed to the populace the abuses and the injustices of their Spanish colonial rulers, the hypocrisy of their priests, and inherent cruelty of their class structure over the powerless masses. Unfortunately, they rose up in the middle of the Spanish-American War, one which saw Spain lose most of their overseas colonies and decisively end as a World Power. The war ended in the 1898 Treaty of Paris, in which Spain also sold the Philippines to the USA for the sum of twenty million dollars. The revolutionary government was then crushed by the overwhelming military might of the United States and the Philippines turned into a territory. While the Philippines stands as the USA's greatest successes in nation-building, their early occupation left almost one-fifth of the population dead from combat and disease. Jose Rizal was executed by the Spanish long before knowing what might happen to his country. The world presented within The Noli and the El Fili is therefore stuck frozen in time, forever caught in that moment before a Revolution. Now let's see what happens to this nation if we give it the Light Novel treatment and jam the entirety of the Internet into their protagonist's skull and watch him try to fix things with his unfortunate tendency to sound like a supervillain. Updates Mondays and Fridays. Note: The Noli and El Fili have been public domain since 1946. This is completely fair game.
