After allotting enough time clean myself up and splash some fresh water on my face I decide to go visit Ced. I need to see how he's doing. After all, what happened to him is my fault.

I arrive in front of his dorm room and knock. The door opens with a click.

"Y/n, hey," Cedric says holding the door open for me. "Come in."

I saunter over to the center of the room and see Anthony, his friend and roommate peeking at us through his covers.

"Hello Anthony," I chuckle crossing my arms.

"Don't mind me," he responds still furrowing his head under the cover.

I turn my attention back to Cedric and give him a small smile. "I just wanted to see how you were doing. I'm so sorry for what Draco did to you."

Cedric meets me in the center looking down at his injured arm.

"Don't stress. The sling will be off soon, hopefully and the bruises will fade." He says lifting his hurt arm a bit with a wince. "It's not like I was helpless you know. I got him too. Though, I imagine he healed himself up so you wouldn't ask questions."

I scoff nodding my head.

"Well um, let me know if you need anything," I announce. "I imagine you'll want me to carry your books to class, little things like that."

Cedric smiles, "Kind of you to offer. But that's what Anthony is for."

Anthony let out a groan.

We both laugh.

"Right. I'll see you tomorrow then Ced," I say, excusing myself from his room.

---

I walked with the golden trio to our next class and we took our normal seats at our table.

"Alright everyone, today we have a group in class project." Professor Lupin announce to everyone. "So, choose your partners wisely. It's due at the end of class. Time starts now!"

Ron and Harry leave the table to gather the supplies off of Lupins desk leaving me and Hermione.

"Is is true what people are saying y/n?" Hermione asks in low voice. "Did Malfoy really fight Cedric?"

I nod.

"Merlin, I'm so sorry y/n," she says resting her hand on my arm. "I don't mean to pry, but may I ask why?"

"Some rumor about me and Cedric got around to him." I sigh. "I imagine you've heard it, the one that started after the night we played Hide and Seek around the castle."

She nodded her head. "Sorry for bailing on you guys that night. Its just McGonagall, found us and—" Hermione huffs. "I imagine Luna has told you the rest," she says retracting her hand.

Harry and Ron came back to our table with their hands full of supplies for our project, spreading them all over the table.

"Alright Hermione, get cracking," Ron announces, leaning back in his chair.

Hermione scowls at him.

We spent the entire hour of class working through our project Hermione and I constantly having to fix Rons mistakes. Harry lent a helping hand every now and then, but made sure to not overstep over fear of facing Hermiones wrath.

---

After lunch I said goodbye to my friends and went to my last class of the day, Potions. Potions with Draco.

As I walk through the sea of students to get to class I contemplate on whether I should ask Snape to move me, or whether that would be too drastic.

I arrived to class before I could decide and just settled for my seat next to Draco.

As I take my seat and place my bag on the floor next to me I feel Dracos eyes carefully studying me. I reluctantly meet his eyes for a second as I turn in my chair. Quickly focusing my eyes up to the front of the class for a minute before doodling on my parchment. Making sure to half listening to Snape as he starts his lecture.

"I'm sorry," Draco mutters under his breath.

I stop my doodle for a second without looking at him before resuming it.

After several minutes go by Draco grabs a hold of my quill his hand grazing over mine.

Surely, I could ignore him this time.

I jerk my hand from under his hand and meet his glance. "What?"

He scoffs, "I said I was sorry y/l/n, what more can I do?"

Draco reaches for my hand under the desk holding it in his. "Forgive me?"

As angry as I was I would've gladly said no. But once I've said it there is no going back. I had to make sure its what I really wanted.

"I don't know Draco," I say pulling my had away.

He grabs my hand, stopping me. "Please?" he says furrowing his brows.

"It is not that easy. I cant just forgive you after you've just assaulted my friend." I scoff. "I said I needed time Draco, you can't push me on this."

---

After days of mulling over Draco and I relationship and constantly turning down my friends on their invitations to go out, I finally give in. I'm not sure as to what they have in mind though, all I know is that it's being hosted in Luna and I's room. They met me halfway, I said I wasn't up to going out, so they compromised for my room.

Once nightfall hits everyone comes up to my dorm cramming up the stairs in the Hufflepuff commons eager for the night to start. Luna opens the door to our room and they all flood in.

Once everyone's in they take seats on the floor piling cushions under them as they all start chatting eagerly waiting for the game to start. I join them on the floor with a yellow cushion.

"How's the arm Ced?" I ask with a remorseful expression.

"It gets better with time" he replies.

"Ok ok enough talk," Ron says hushing everyone in the circle. "Tonight we'll be playing Truth or Dare."

"Truth or Dare?" I ask, arching a brow.

"Yeah. It was Anthonys idea," Ron replies digging his elbow into Anthonys side.

"All dares will be saved for the end of each round," Harry announces. "Just so we can maximize our time."

Hermione nods her head in agreement.

"But before we start," Luna chimes, holding out her hand to the center of the circle. "Everyone should take one of these. It gives you a bit of an adrenaline rush and a spike in confidence."

Everyone grabs a yellow chewable from Lunas hand popping it into their mouths.

"Ok, I think we are good to go now," Luna chirps with a smile as she takes one herself.

"I'll start us off," Ron announces, eyeing everyone in the circle looking for his victim. "Hmm...Luna!"

Luna visibly jumps at the sound of her name.

"Truth or Dare?"

"Dare," she replies with an eager smile.

Ron quirks an eyebrow. "I dare you...to steal a rose from Professor Spouts garden and write a love letter to Neville. I think we all know how the two of you feel about each other. It's time something was done about it."

Lunas cheeks flush red from embarrassment. She looks at him hesitantly but nods her head.

"Good!" he beams. "Who's next?"

Within the first round Cedric chooses Harry and asks him to choose. Harry does with a dare, amounting to him going into Snapes class and rummaging the place. Harry didn't try to get Cedric to change his mind about his dare. Harry hates Snape and vice versa, he'd gladly do it and deal with the consequences later.

Hermione chooses Ron who chooses dare as well. Hermione dares him to TP the great hall, Ron happily obliges. Next Luna asks Hermione who was very set on choosing truth, but after much persuasion Hermione finally gave in and chose dare to appease us all.

"Hmm," Luna hums tapping her chin. "I dare you to join Ron in Tping the great hall," she announces. "Sorry Mione," she says whispering into her ear, it was clear that Luna was genuinely sorry. Luna wouldn't have ever thought of that idea herself rather she piggybacked off of Hermiones own idea. A taste of her own medicine if you will.

"Y/n!" Anthony shouts rubbing his hands together.

"Er-um, truth I suppose."

"Alright" he says with a smirk. "Think back to fourth year for me." I nod. "Why did you flake out on Cedrics quidditch match at the start of last year?"

My stomach turns as I feel my cheeks grow red.

"Anthony!" Cedric exclaims. "Y/n, you don't have to answer that," he says turning to me.

I'm too stunned by the question to even respond or look at Cedric.

As I start thinking back on the day Anthony was referencing I feel Cedrics hand on my shoulder. I sharply look up.

"We're doing the dares now, coming?" Cedric says extending his arm out to help me. I accept his hand and join the group as we walk to the great hall so that Hermione and Ron can TP it. Though I doubt Hermione will actually go through with it.

Once we get to the great hall Anthony and Harry provide them with enough toilet paper to do some damage, but not completely cover the whole hall. As we all go into the great hall I stand with my back against the wall with everyone as Ron eagerly starts tossing the toilet paper about while Hermione reluctantly approaches a roll, too scared to even put her hands on it.

I allow my thought to consume me once more and start thinking back to the day Anthony was referencing. I would always remember that day, that was the first time Draco and I kissed. It was the day that changed everything for us. I had left Cedrics Quidditch match early because Draco said he needed me.

...

The game starts and the players are off. Gryffindor vs. Hufflepuff, Harry is notoriously known for being the best seeker, but something tells me Cedric stands a chance today. Hufflepuff manages to stay in the lead for the first part of the game and keeps from fouling too often. At about the second half I look down at my watch and see that it's 7. Shit. The snitch hasn't even been spotted yet. But I should be back soon. I'm just going to tell Draco that right now isn't a good time and then come right back to the game.

Now that I think back on it, I don't think I ever actually gave Cedric a valid reason for why I had left his game.

I pull Cedric aside as the other watch Ron in amusement. Hermione stopped after barely having touched the toilet paper.

"What's up?" Cedric asks prying his eyes away from Ron.

"Well I figured I'd answer Anthonys question and tell you my truth," I reply looking down at my shoes.

"Y/n, you don't have to tell me. It's ok, he was out of line for asking you that." Cedric says lifting up my chin to meet his eyes.

"No, but I should. I won't chicken out just because I get called out on my past mistakes" I reply with a quiet chuckle. "I had left because Draco asked for me to meet him and I knew that it might result in me missing a part of your game, but I never intended to miss the majority of it. I thought he just needed something really quick, a small question, help with Charms..." I gulp. "But—"

"You chose me over Malfoy, it's fine." Cedric says in a low voice drawing his attention away from me.

"I may be out of line for asking you this, but I just have to know. Do you think things would be different right now if you hadn't left my game early?" he says focusing back on me.

I stop to think for a minute. "I never knew how defining that moment would be, how things would drastically change from there." I sigh. "If I would've stayed at your game I— I— think things could be different right now."

"Right," he replies, with a tight smile trying to hide his hurt.

Both our eyes drift over to Ron who is manically still going with the help of Anthony.

"Do you know what your next move is with Malfoy?" Cedric asks still focusing on the display ahead.

"I'm not sure," I respond. "But I do feel like I should see him tonight. It has been a week, he deserves some news whether it be good or bad. Will you cover for me?"

"Of course, I'll see you later," Cedric says flashing me a small smile.

I start towards the Slytherin common room leaving the great hall. My head instantly starts flooding with so many memories from third year. How I met Cedric, how I chose Draco. How I chose Draco— it never really felt like I was making a choice then. Cedric had never explicitly stated that he liked me beyond our friendship, but I don't think it would've mattered. I'd known Draco for years, he was—familiar and Cedric was new at the time. I didn't really know him all that well. My thoughts drop back to Draco as I start thinking about all our late meetings in the astronomy tower. I can't believe Draco and I are almost to our 2 year mark. But it doesn't take away from the fact he hurt Cedric out of pure jealousy. He can be so impulsive, possessive, jealous, overprotective...

I had to break up with Draco.

Some things just aren't redeemable.

As I get closer to the common room I absentmindedly start fiddling with the pendent Narcissa bought me. Out of sheer guilt I drop it and slide it under my shirt. It no longer represented something true on my behalf. I made her son happy, but sadly, the feeling wasn't mutual anymore. It no longer held the same significance, now it would just be a reminder of a time when me and Draco were at our highest.

I try calming myself down as I inch closer.

Take a deep breath—in and out, in and out.

I walk into the Slytherin common room and as I start for the stairs I instantly stop turning my attention back to the pair who're on the couch. Two people snogging on the couch, how classy. Wait—I notice a familiar white-blonde Slytherin with a pair of hands deeply around either side of his head.

What the fuck.

Well he just made things easier.

I close the common room door making a loud click as I do so, getting Dracos attention.

Draco immediately adjust himself backing away from the girl as he runs a hand through his messy hair.

"Y/n" he announces shockingly, out of breath.

He quickly stands and grabs hold of my elbow leading me to the corridor just outside the common room, leaving the brunette Slytherin stunned on the couch.

"Y/n I can explain. Fuck, I'm so fucking sorry it's just—"

I let out a loud sigh. "I took too long."

I know full well that he wouldn't ever admit to that, but its fine because I knew he knew it too.

"I said a break Draco, not a break up." I say emphasizing the last syllable. "Unless you knowingly did this and planned to break up with me after."

Draco reaches for my hand guilt all over his face, "No. It was a mistake I was just—hurting— and she was there."

I should've pushed his hand away from me. I should've. But I wouldn't. I couldn't. Because despite what I witnessed it was already over between us.

"It's just more fuel to the fire anyway," I snort looking down. "I came here to, to...it's over Draco. I'm sorry." I force out, tiredly.

"What do you mean?" he asks in a clipped tone.

"It's over Draco. I'm sorry." I respond, my voice cracking towards the end. "And it isn't because of what I just saw, though that would have done it if I weren't certain. Draco you can't do that, it hurts you git."

"I know, I know. I'm sorry." He says pulling me into his chest. "Is there any way I can get you to stay y/n, please."

I pull away from him. "No. What you did to Cedric is just irredeemable and then I catch you snogging with some brunette in the commons" I laugh hysterically. "I think it was over for us the minute you betrayed my trust by hurting my friend. I was just too afraid to let you go so soon."

I refrain from the urge to stoke his pale cheek. Draco was clearly no longer mine.

"Goodbye Draco."

I feel his hand brush my arm. "Don't please." He says in a broken voice.

"You can't undo what you've already done and even if you could, you just cheated on me. You're lucky that's not the main cause of this break up. What's done is done."

I turn away from Draco and start towards the Hufflepuff commons burying my face in my hands.

"Don't do this y/n." I hear Draco shout through the hall, his voice echoing off the walls.

I fight through the tears as I refrain to turn back and run into his arms. Just keep walking.

Just get past the corner, just get past the corner. Then you can let yourself unfold.

Once I turn the corner I slump down against the wall and let all my tears out, with quiet sobs. I place my head atop my knees and let out my muffled cries. I was in utter shock that I had just broken up with Draco Malfoy, someone I truly cared for. It was done.

Draco and I were over.
