《Malfoy v. Diggory (reader x draco malfoy x cedric diggory x reader love story)》chapter 30

"Good morning all," Professor Burbage announces, "please open your text books up to chapter 5". I sigh and drop my eyes down to my desk reaching for my textbook to flip to the right page, but before I turn any of the pages I realize I'm already on the right page. Immediately, my eyes shift over to Cedric.
"What?" he laughs. "looked like you could use a hand" he shrugs, with his charming smile.
"Thanks" I say sending him a smile. "So, how's Cho?" I mumble, pretending to focus on the reading, for Burbages sake.
"Why do you always ask about Cho?" he states, turning to me with a brow raised.
"She's your girlfriend and I'm your friend, am I not allowed to be curious?" I respond with a slight chuckle.
"Right" he clears his throat, "I suppose she's well."
"Suppose? Why wouldn't-"
"Ms. y/l/n!"
I shoot a glance in front of me and see Burbage standing right by my desk.
"No talking" she hums, whisking back to the front of the class. "Now where were we?"
"Sorry" Cedric whispers under his breath.
For the reminder of class I stayed silent. Cedric didn't bother to strike up a conversation again either, damn Burbage.
After class Cedric and I walk over to Transfiguration, this year Cedric and I have each other in more than just one class.
"What was our last topic of discussion before Burbage so rudely interrupted us?" I question as we walk down the cobbled pavement.
"Well, we were in class so-" Cedric begins.
I turn to him, rolling my eyes with a smile as he laughs.
"Don't stall" I say elbowing him playfully. "How are things with you and Cho?"
"Ms. y/l/n"
Not again. Who's it this time. I turn back to the direction from which the voice came from and spot Dumbledore. Wait, Dumbledore? I stop in my tracks, Cedric does the same.
"You can go ahead, I'll meet you in class" I announce to Cedric.
"Are you sure?" he questions with concern in his eyes, "because I can wait."
"No, really it's fine" I assure with a smile.
With that Cedric leaves hesitantly, turning back every now and then to check on me.
"Ms. y/l/n" Dumbledore announces, approaching me.
I meet him halfway. "Yes?" I question as I observe the old, grey wizard standing before me.
"May I snag you for a moment?" he asks with a cheery smile.
"Er- um, sure" I respond joining his side.
We walk down the corridor in silence, with only the sound of our shoes clicking against the ground.
"Sir, if you don't mind me asking, why exactly have you pulled me aside?"
"Nothing must be spoken of until we reach my office Ms. y/l/n" he hums.
We finally arrive into his office, I've never been in here before, thankfully. We walk into his office and I allow my eyes dance around the room and observe the many portraits of old people he has on his wall, probably previous headmasters.
"Please, have a seat" he announces, gesturing to the seat in front of his desk as he takes his own behind the desk.
I look at him puzzled, I have no clue why I'm here, it's not like I've broken any of the rules, or caused any disturbances, certainly haven't done anything worth praising either.
"Lemon drop?" he offers, extending a small pouch of yellow bites covered in sugar.
"Er- sure" I say reaching into the pouch to grab a few, "thanks."
He himself pops a few into his mouth before beginning. "So, you must be wondering why you're here" he announces with a smile.

I nod my head eagerly.
"Well wonder no more!" he shouts ecstatically. "You'll be joining the house of Hufflepuff effective immediately!" he clamors with a wide smile.
As soon as I hear those words come out of his mouth I feel my heart drop into my stomach. Maybe I heard wrong I reassure, yeah I think I did.
"I'm sorry sir, could you repeat yourself once more?"
"Why you'll be joining the Hufflepuffs this year!"
Nope, I heard correctly the first time, I sigh. "I don't understand, why is this happening headmaster, did I do something wrong?" I question furrowing my brows.
"Wrong? Of course not, you're an excellent student Ms. y/l/n" he beams, tucking the pouch of drops into his robe.
"Then why is this happening?" I ask swallowing a large lump down my throat.
"I'm sorry, I would've thought you to be ecstatic by the news dear" he consoles in a soft voice.
"Ecstatic? Sir, my best friend is in Slytherin and not to mention my boy-"
"Ah uh uh" he hums. "I have it on good authority that you and Mr. Diggory are friends, no?"
"Well, yes but-"
"And Ms. Lovegood?" he continues, raising a brow.
"Sir, that's not the point, I've been in Slytherin for 3 years, no one has ever moved houses" I announce, "I mean, it's not even a thing!" I shout, growing more annoyed by the second with this absurd situation.
"Well I'm afraid it's out of my hands Ms, y/l/n, I truly am sorry" he consoles with knitted brows.
"No offense, but aren't you the headmaster? How is this out of your hands?" I announce, easing up on my tone.
"I'm sorry, it just is." he says looking at me with a pitiful expression. "Your friend Ms. Lovegood, has already been informed of the news and will show you to your new room" he announces as he stands up from his chair.
"Move in? as in move into the hufflepuff dorms?"
"Of course, every Hufflepuff resides in the house of Hufflepuff, dear", he assures as he places himself behind his chair.
"Well, can I at least get a week to move out?" I question with pleading eyes.
"No worries, your things have already been taken care of."
"But- sir"
"Ms. y/l/n, I'm afraid I've disclosed everything there is to share about this situation, and as mentioned before I do greatly apologize" he announces with a small frown growing. "So, unless you have another issue to speak about you should get going back to class."
I reach for my bag and throw it over my shoulder before I exit the room in a huff. How is this out of his hands, it doesn't make sense, he's the headmaster! 'I thought you'd be pleased by the news', pleased by the news my ass. He's placing me in a whole other house with a bunch of new people who've I've never encountered. He's taking me away from Slytherin. Soon the anger dwindles down into sorrow and I feel hot streaks of water rushing down my face. Screw class, I'm too upset to even pay attention to whatever McGonagall has to say today.
I rush down the hall wiping my tears away, Melin do they ever stop! As I approach the staircase that leads down to the dungeons I spot a familiar hufflepuff out of the corner of my eye, but decide to keep walking. I'm in no state to speak to him right now, I'm a mess of snot and tears.

"Y/n!" I hear Cedric shout, his footsteps growing louder, due to proximity.
"Ced, I told you to go to class" I announce as I walk straight on, not turning back.
He finally catches up to me and turns me by the waist so that I'm now facing him in the empty hall.
"Please talk to me y/n, what happened?" he asks knitting his eyebrows together as he gently cups my tear streaked cheek. I can't help but to nuzzle into his touch, in doing this I see a small smile start to grow on his face. He lightly places his other warm hand on my bare cheek, before lifting my face up so that our eyes can meet.
I quickly, but kindly take his hands off of my face, without a word before whisking down into the dungeons. Upon opening the doors of the Slytherin commons I see Draco pacing back and forth impatiently. I close the door to the common room and immediately his eyes dart to me.
"Y/n" he announces with a sigh of relief. Draco assertively approaches me, slithering his hands around my waist. By this point all my tears are gone and wiped away, except for the occasional sniff.
I nestle my head into his chest as I wrap my arms around him. "You know, don't you?" I question still holding him close.
"Lovegood was just here" he responds, soothingly stroking my hair.
I gently pull away and take a seat on the leather sofa, burying my hands into face. "I just don't understand, none of this makes sense. Switching houses, that's not even a thing!" I cry hysterically.
Draco joins me on the couch, "You're right it's not a thing, and I swear I'll fix this, you're a Slytherin, not a Hufflepuff" he scoffs. "I couldn't bear not having you here with me, you'll be on the other half of the castle" he states with an irritated expression.
I gently move his hair to the side, meeting his beautiful grey eyes before kissing him delicately. I pull away and sigh, lowering myself down onto his lap, so that my head rests on his lap and my feet are up against the end of the couch. Draco starts playing and twisting my hair in a very calming way, with ease, until I doze off.
---
When I awake I hear the birds chirping and the sun shining. I find myself in Dracos bed, alone. I sit up and rub my face before I let out a monstrous yawn. I hear the door open and see my favorite platinum blonde Slytherin walk in.
"Did I fall asleep on the couch?" I mutter, throwing myself back onto the bed.
"Like always" he responds with a grin, "and as much as I would like you to stay here with me, I'm afraid you have a visitor downstairs".
"Who?" I question not bothering to sit up.
"Lovegood, so I suggest you hurry before she breaks through those doors" he states, pecking my lips before he leaves.
---
After I showered I realized that I had no clean clothes to change into, given that all my stuff is in my new room. Shit. I definitely dont want to change back into my dirty clothes. I start rummaging through Draco's clothes and find some grey sweatpants that look like they won't be too big on me and a black sweater of his. I would have taken his other Quidditch sweater, but I already have one along with my stuff, in my new room, from when I went to his Quidditch game for the first time as his girlfriend.
I descend down the stairs and run into Blaise, who's sitting in the very full common room, its usually never this full, but then again it is the weekend.
"Y/n!" he shouts, waving me over.
"Hey Blaise" I greet him with a hug.
"So it's true then?" he questions pulling away.
"I'm afraid so" I reply looking down as I twiddle with my thumbs.
"Wow and no explanation either?"
I shake my head.
Blaise lifts my chin up before he continues. "It'll all work out you'll see, till then we still have the weekends, yeah?" he consoles searching for my eyes.
"Yeah" I smile weakly, "and the Quidditch matches,
I'll be at all your games Zabini" I announce in a soft tone with a smile as I walk towards the door.
"I'll see you around bestie" he teases with a small smile.
I wave once more before exiting the common room, the Slytherin common room.
I'm quickly met with Lunas calming aura and link my arm with hers as we make our way to the Hufflepuff common room. I've never been in there, or hell even know where it's at. I love being a Slytherin and being put into Hufflepuff by some random twist of fate isn't going to change that. It's just something that I have to deal with, I'll try my best to make the most out of this situation, that is of course, until I get to the bottom of this and figure out why I was switched in the first place .
"I'm really glad you're joining me and Cedric over on our half of the castle" she speaks softly with a smile. "I know you'll fit right in with the rest of us"
"I hope so, is anybody wary of me joining their house?"
"Not at all, in fact everyone is very excited" she beams.
---
"Here we are" she announces, unlinking our arms as we arrive into the Hufflepuff common room.
As I walk in I'm hit with the color yellow, to the shining sun that beams in through the windows, to the yellow plants and greenery that surround me. Their common room is so much more different than our. So much light and brightness as opposed to our dark green light, common room that resides under the black lake. The Hufflepuff commons are very inviting and cozy they have one main, but cozy level that has several study rooms off to the side with big wooden circle doors for privacy and silence, the doors kind of remind me of a barrel. Strange.
Luna leads me down to the lower level that's filled with more bookshelves, desks, soft yellow cushions and greenery. Finally she takes me up to the third level where my dorm is supposedly located. She leads me down the short hall and opens the barrel like door to a room. The room is just as cozy and yellow as the common room.
"So what do you think?" Luna asks as we walk into my new dorm.
"You Hufflepuffs sure like you're light and greenery" I chuckle.
I wander around my new room and immediately notice someone else's stuff in their as well.
"Say, do I have a roomie?" I ask, gesturing towards the side of the room that's filled with stuff that I don't recognize to be mine.
"Yes" she hums. "That would be me."
"I get you as a roommate" I squeal with excitement.
She nods.
"Wow, that's amazing!"
"I'll catch up with you later, Y/n" Luna announces with a small smile, allowing Cedric in.
"How're you liking it here? Better than the Slytherin commons I bet" he teases with a smile, closing the door behind him.
I laugh. "A little too upbeat for me, but it's cozy" I announce with a grin, plopping onto one of the fluffy yellow cushions that lay in the corner on the wooden floor. Cedric follows suit.
"I see you've already put Oat in his rightful space" I observe, glancing up at my bed to see the big golden teddy bear that Ced gave me when he asked me to winter ball.
"Still sticking with Oat?" he chuckles.
"Of course, you know it's a good name."
He rolls his eyes playfully.
I scratch the back of my neck, "Hey, about what happened in the hall-" I begin.
"What hall?" he questions with a confused face.
"Ced" I giggle.
"What hall? What'd I miss?" he questions once more, pretending not to remember what happened.
"Goof" I laugh with him, nudging him playfully.
"Ok, ok" he straightens up, "but serious question, where were you last night? Luna and I stayed up waiting for you, I stayed up till about midnight, but Luna called it quits at curfew"
"Ced, you really shouldn't have done that" I shake my head, "I stayed back in the Slytherin commons" I respond.
"Where? he smiles "your room there was vacant, everything got moved here."
I hesitate. "I stayed with Draco."
Cedrics smile falters and his eyes shift down from my face to my baggy clothes.
Silence.
"Right" he states, forcing out a fake chuckle.
I clear my throat. "Breakfast?" I question with a wide grin, trying to ease the tension.
"Of course" he replies with his usual smile. "I'll let you get changed first."
"I wasn- never mind, I'll change", I reply with a weak smile.
