《Malfoy v. Diggory (reader x draco malfoy x cedric diggory x reader love story)》chapter 29

I wake up still wrapped in Draco embrace and hear the birds chirping as the sun beams in through my window. We both fell asleep still in our school robes without having gone to change, to be fair I was pretty tired last night given that I've been working overtime in DADA. I turn over to my left and see Dracos eyes start to flutter open.
"Good morning" I smile leaning in to peck his cheek.
"Morning" he smiles back, still keeping his arms around me.
"So, what's on the agenda for today?" I beam still wrapped in his embrace.
"Blaise and I have our first Quidditch match to get ready for" he announces in a sleepy tone. "I'll be booked for most of the day" he continues, glancing down at me. "What about you, what're you doing today?"
"Not sure, I'll figure something out though" I respond sweetly pulling out of his embrace to get up.
As I stand up stretching myself out, my eyes bore over to the clock hanging on my wall: 10 AM. Seems like I've already missed breakfast at the hall which obviously sucks, but lunch wasn't that far along, I could wait till then. I'll just have to find something to occupy myself with.
I glance back over at my bed and see Draco still cozied under the sheets.
"Draco you have to go now" I say with a small chuckle as I walk over his side of the bed.
"I changed my mind" he announces, nuzzling his platinum blonde hair against the pillow. "We're staying in today."
"No" I laugh, "you even said it yourself, you have to practice for this years first Quidditch match" I respond crossing my arms. "Blaise needs all the help he can get" I announce, abruptly swiping the covers off of him.
"Clearly, you haven't seen Blaise play"
"Merlin!" I tug him out of my bed by his arms and begin to struggle as he tries to balance all his weight on me, intentionally.
"Draco I-!" I shout, feeling myself lose my balance as I try to support him and end up collapsing onto the bed with Draco on top of me.
"Geez y/n, if you wanted me back in bed so badly you could've just asked" he smirks as he studies my face.
"I'll just leave my own room then, it's fine" I say sarcastically, pushing him off of me as I make my way towards the door.
"Wait-" Draco mumbles as he approaches me. He proceeds to cup my face before giving me a tender kiss. "Ok, I'll go now" he grins as he turns the doorknob exiting my room.
Goof.
Once Draco finally leaves, I'm able to get ready in the privacy of my own room. I really don't have anything planned for today, so I guess I'll keep my options open and just chill out around the castle. I walk over to my trunk that sits in the corner of my room and pull out a clearly worn out book. It's a book that I've had for years, my favorite book that I constantly reread, 'Twilight'. Mum bought it for me ages ago when she was lurking around a muggle bookstore and came across it. Bless muggles.
With my book in hand I make my way out of the the common room and out to the Black Lake. After treading around the school I finally arrive at the lake and decide to shelter myself underneath a chunky oak tree that provides me with much shade from the sun. I lean against the tree and close my eyes as I breathe in the crisp summer air. After a deep exhale I take in the beauty of the lake and the greenery that surrounds it. The last time I was here I was with Draco. We had just snuck out of our rooms and snuck out to the lake as it was pouring outside. It was so perfect, and of course I could never forget the ring he gifted me. I look down at my hand and admire the serpent ring Draco bought me. 'Just like his' I think to myself. My thoughts however, are quickly interrupted by familiar voice.

I look up from my ring and see Luna walking towards me with her group of Gryffindor friends.
"Luna!" I shout joyfully as I stand up to give her a hug.
"Y/N" she exclaims returning the embrace.
I gently pull away, "what brings you down here?" I question glancing over at her friends who stand behind her with cheeky smiles.
"Nothing, we're just roaming about" she chuckles. Lunas focus shifts from me to the tree up ahead, the tree I was just at, and notices the book laying underneath it. "Oh, I've interrupted you I see" she says softly.
"Just reminiscing and reading that's all" I smile in response.
"Well, I'll let you get back to it then" she announces scurrying back to her friends.
"See you" I shout, as she waves.
As I walk back towards the tree I hear another shout.
"Y/n! Hold on a minute". I turn back and to my surprise see Hermione rushing towards me.
"Hermione?" I ask with a puzzled tone as she finally reaches me.
"We're throwing this party tonight in our common room, Gryffindor's common room and I wanted to invite you" she responds with a warm smile.
"Me? No offense, but why me?" I question raising my brow.
"I kind of owe Luna and the more the merrier, so please I'd really appreciate it if you came tonight" she announces, knitting her eyebrows as she awaits my response.
The first thing that pops into my head is Draco. Merlin, if he ever found out I was going to a Gryffindor party where nonetheless Harry Potter would be as well, oh, I'd never hear the end of it. But it's not like I have much going on tonight anyway and besides Draco said he'd be busy practicing with Blaise the whole day.
"Sure why the hell not" I respond with a laugh.
"Great!" Hermione beams. "We'll see you then-oh and if you don't mind-"
"Yeah yeah, no Draco it's alright, he's busy anyway" I respond.
She nods with a smile and rejoins her friend group that's waiting for her at the corner of the lake. Luna turns once more and shouts another goodbye before she leaves.
---
After dinner I scurry back up to my room and get ready for the party. As I get ready I feel a rush of excitement pulse through me. I've never been to non-Slytherin party. I wonder if they'll do things the same way; drinks, loud music, dancing, or if their version of a party is more toned down. Regardless, I'm excited to venture out and meet some new people, I wonder if they invite other houses as well. Ok OK enough. Once I'm done getting ready for the party I shove all my outfits that didn't make the cut back into my dresser and head out.
I walk out of the dungeons make my way over to the stairs. As I climb up seven flights of stairs I start to worry that I won't be able to get in. Hermione never told me the password to get into the common room, I sigh. As I approach the top of the stairs on the same floor that the Gryffindors reside I see Hermione standing beside her houses portrait.
"Y/n, over here!" she shouts signaling me to her direction.
I rush to join her side eager for the party. "You never told me how to get in" I announce meeting her brown eyes.
"Well you didn't expect me to just give out the password did you?" she giggles. "Now turn and cover your ears please" she hums. I do as instructed.

Seconds later, I feel Hermione tap my shoulder indicating that she had finished muttering the password.
We step into the common room and stop at the entrance. Shit, they really know how to throw a party, it's like the ones us Slytherins throw, well, almost like the ones we throw. They have about 100 more people than we'd ever had at a party and it soon became apparent to me that of course they had more people than us Slytherins would ever have at a party. They were inclusive unlike the Slytherins who like to keep everything within their house. I however, don't really care for peoples houses, in fact, I find other houses to be fairly pleasurable.
The room is filled with a diverse amount of people, from all sorts of different houses who were all mingling and dancing in harmony. Well almost every house, it appears as if I'm the only Slytherin here, no matter though. The room is decorated with red and maroon streamers hanging about and a constant drizzle of gold and red paper mache that appeared to be coming from the ceiling, but not so much so that the ground would easily overflow with the mache, but just enough so that it would create the perfect ambiance.
"You'll have to teach me that spell" I say turning over to Hermione with huge smile.
"I will" she chuckles "it's a total game changer, isn't?"
"Absolutely" I beam.
"Alright enough talk, go on! Get yourself a drink dance do whatever" she smiles "I'll go get Luna for you."
As soon as Hermione's out of my earshot I spot a small table pushed up against the wall, with bottled beverages laid all across it. I walk towards the table for a drink and expecting not to find alcohol, I reach for a soda, but to my utter surprise they had alcohol. I was stunned, they really made it a point to make sure that everyone enjoys themselves. I smile. I approach the table and mix a concoction of my favorite alcoholic drink and some soda water in a plastic cup and wait by the table for Hermione and Luna as I take in the atmosphere of the party, it's so lively and cheery, in contrast to the Slytherin parties. Our parties almost always take place in the dark, with loud music and zero conversation. This party's the exact opposite of what of I'm used to, but it's pretty great.
I spot Luna approaching me from the corner of my eye and greet her.
"Y/n, I didn't know you were coming" she announces with a smile.
"Me neither" I laugh "but Hermione invited me last minute."
"How sweet of her" she beams. "Are you having a nice time so far?" she questions joyfully.
"So far, so good" I respond cheekily.
"I'm glad" she smiles, "also, just a fair warning, I don't stay here too long, after about 2 hours I make my way back to my room, things can start to get a little crazy after curfew" she speaks softly.
"Noted" I giggle.
Luna grabs a soda off the table and pops it open. "Did you invite Draco?"
I laugh choking on my drink. Luna laughs as well.
"Ok, so no Draco, who's going to be you're dance partner then?" Luna questions before taking a sip from her fizzy drink.
"Im looking at her right now" I respond with a grin.
"Sorry y/n, but I don't dance" she announces softly. "But you know who does" she beams looking out into the crowd of people. I follow her eye line into the crowd.
"Oh no no no no no, I think you've had too much soda Luna" I say reaching for her drink.
"What's happening here?" Hermione chimes coming from Merlin knows where.
"Yeah, what is happening" a female ginger chimes in as well and just like Hermione, coming out of nowhere.
"I'll excuse myself now" Luna says as she glides off towards a group of Ravenclaws.
"I'm sorry, I don't think we've met before" I announce kindly, shifting my focus over to the new ginger.
"Ginny" she answers with a grin. "And you're Y/n, Lunas told us all about you, good things of course" she continues.
"Oh, well it's a pleasure" I say sending her a smile, which she returns.
"Ok enough with the introductions who's Luna talking about?" Hermione questions raising a brow.
"She wants me to dance with Cedric" I sigh.
"Oh, well I can help you there," Ginny responds with a grin.
Without a second thought Ginny grabs my arm and piles me into Cedric. Nice. She's bold for that. I slam straight into Cedric and just about fall onto the ground.
"Woah, alright there?" Cedric asks, catching me by my arm as he steadies me on my own two feet. "y/n?" he questions meeting my eyes.
"The one and only" I chuckle.
"What're you doing here?" he asks with a wide smile.
"Hermione" I sigh "she invited me".
Cedric takes my hand and lifts it above my head giving me a spin. "Are you having fun so far?" he questions letting my hand go gently.
"Yeah" I chuckle "it's alright".
"Are you having fun? Where's Cho?" I ask scanning the room.
"Oh, um" he hesitates "she's resting, big test tomorrow" he responds reassuringly. "Dance with me?" he asks extending out his hand.
Why is it that I'm always dancing with Cedric. Strange.
"Yes" I hum with a smile.
---
After a long night in the Gryffindor common room, I finally decide to head back to my dorm. Hermione insisted on taking me back to my dorm claiming, that 'I was in no state to walk these halls alone so late'. I thanked her for the offer, but then reminded her about Draco and she understood my decision. He's not the biggest fan of her or any Gryffindor for that matter. But she did insist on walking me down each flight of stairs and leaving once I've reached solid ground. She wasn't going to take no for an answer and I was in no mood to resist, so I obliged.
Hermione guides me down seven flights of stairs as I wobble against her and almost face plant a couple times.
"Geez Y/n, how much did you drink?" she asks basically carrying me down the steps.
"Not much-" I giggle, honestly I don't know how much I drank, but my head was throbbing.
"Ok, here you are" Hermione says leading me down onto the flat terrain. "Got it from here?"
I nod, "thanks", she smiles in response and jolts back up the 100 stairs we just descended from.
I straighten myself up and make my way down to the dungeons. I was able to walk in a straight line before I even reached the dungeons. Pro. I mutter the password to get in, and proceed to walk into the common room and see a male silhouette sitting on the couch in front of the fire place. I shoot him a quick glance and not recognizing them, carry on my way up to my room.
"Y/n?" a familiar voice calls out in a concerned tone.
"Draco?" I question turning back to face the center of the common room.
"Y/n, where were you?" he announces as he walks towards me, the moonlight shinning through the window, illuminating his face.
"I was out with some friends" I respond with a laugh.
"What friends?" Draco questions stroking my cheek.
"I'm not falling for that one" I giggle pulling away from him.
"Come on, I swear I won't get mad, I just want to make sure you were safe" he reassures.
"I'm I hearing you right?" I question raising a brow "Has Draco Malfoy gone soft?" I tease.
"Shut up" he laughs rolling his eyes.
"Fine" I sigh, "I went to a party in the Gryffindor common room" I respond, quickly biting the inside of my cheek, nervous for his response.
"I suppose there were Gryffindors there as well" he questions, looking up to my eyes.
"Yeah" I gulp.
"Alright, just don't specify which ones" he responds looking around the room. "I'm just glad you're ok" he says sending me a weak smile.
Wow Draco is showing some serious growth. More than I expected so soon, but I'm not complaining, this makes me super happy for us. I give him a quick peck on the cheek and shift his white-blonde hair away from his face before I walk up the to my room.

The Forgotten Hero
Long ago, in the world of Thyne, the Alliance of the Free Races, a name they had given themselves, summoned a hundred humans from another dimension. Praised as heroes by the people, they rejoiced that they had been able to acquire pure, mana deficient humans that wanted to aid them in their time of need, ignoring the black, archaic slave collars around their necks or the depressed, almost hate-filled expressions that they received when interacting with them. After Ten years of bloody war, the dark races were pushed back deep into their territories. Both sides were near breaking point and desperate to end the war once and for all. In a bargain, the twelve surviving heroes launched a high-risk mission, utilising advanced tactics from their home world to kill the Demon Lord. In exchange, they would be sent home, along with the magically preserved corpses of their comrades, though in truth, they knew that even if they returned, they would never be the same. Legends say that, upon ambushing the Demon Lord in his castle, they finally understood the plight of the world, and in the last act of heroism, sacrificed their lives, sealing him in an eternal prison so his essence would not be able to create another. With the loss of the Demon Lord, and no chance for another to be born, the dark races quickly surrendered and the free races celebrated, honouring the noble sacrifice of the heroes before quickly forgetting about them as they returned to their everyday lives. However, legends are rarely truthful, embellished by the victors in order to earn praise as well as hide the less desirable aspects of their deeds. Trapped in the Demon Lord's throne room inside the Demonic Palace, which even taking a single step on its desecrated grounds is punished by death, two figures remain motionless. They had long run out of insults and threats to trade and now they waited. For what, not even the Gods knew.
