《Malfoy v. Diggory (reader x draco malfoy x cedric diggory x reader love story)》chapter 28

After Transfiguration class, I walk in the direction of the library to get started on my homework. Draco said he'd meet me there after his last class as well. On my way over to the stairs I see Cedric with a familiar Ravenclaw, Cho. They're seated in the courtyard on a stone bench that lies beneath a green tall tree. I turn on my heels and notice how happy Cedric is, he finally found someone to love and someone who's worthy of it. I smile. I shortly leave, not wanting to seem like a stalker and make my way up the stairs onto the second level and proceed to another flight of stairs arriving at the third level where the library resides. I notice Professor Snape and Lucius conversing at the end of the corridor and decide to slow my pace down a bit. What's Lucius doing here at Hogwarts and an even better question what's he doing here talking to Snape?
"I trust you'll speak to Albus about the matter, Severus?" I overhear Lucius talking to Snape in a serious manner.
"I will Lucius" Snape responds as his eyes snap from Lucius over to me. I send him a weak smile before scurrying into the library. He most definitely caught me eavesdropping.
What does Lucius have to tell Albus and why can't he tell him himself, why is he telling Snape to tell Dumbledore for him. I wonder if Draco knows his father is here. There's a lot of unanswered questions, but hey, they don't concern me, so it's best to move on. I take a seat in a secluded part of the library and sit at an empty desk. I pull my bag up onto my lap and take out some parchment for my DADA assignment. I begin on my assignment and try my best to focus, but I can't, something about Lucius and Snapes conversation strikes me as odd and makes me feel uneasy, why would Lucius ever have the need to be here, I have never once seen him inside the castle walls. What could be so important.
"Alright there?" Draco calls placing his hands on the back of my chair as he gives me a kiss on the cheek.
I shake off my thoughts. "Yeah" I chuckle weakly, "just daydreaming" I assure.
"About me I hope" he announces sliding into an empty chair beside me.
I nod and smile in response as I ease back into reality.
"Good" he smirks. "What're we working on" he adds sliding his chair closer to me to take a glance at my paper. "Dark arts?" he questions.
"Yup" I respond with a smile. I notice Draco didn't being anything with him which confused me considering he said we'd do some work together after class. "Where's your stuff, aren't you going to do some homework as well?" I ask meeting his grey eyes.

"I was, but I figured I'd just watch you do it instead" he grins with a half smile.
"Am I that interesting to looks at?" I suggest twirling my quill between my fingers.
"Always."
"Ok, but don't complain once I start to get boring as a figure of amusement" I hum.
"Trust me, I won't", he flashes me a grin before giving me one last kiss and allowing me to get back to my studies.
After about thirty minutes of working, Draco still hasn't taken his eyes off of me, I'm able to tell since the butterflies in my stomach have yet to settle.
"Draco" I whine, feeling uneasy with his eyes constantly on me.
"What?" he questions with a quiet laugh. "Am I bothering you?"
"No, not at all, I actually relish when people stare at me" I announce sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
"Fine, I'll stop" he shrugs. "Are you about done anyway?"
"Actually yeah, I'm done" I announce turning back to my things, beginning to organize them into my bag.
"Alright then" Draco announces as he stands up. "Dinner?" he asks extending out his hand for mine.
"I'd love that" I beam, grabbing his hand as I throw my bag over my shoulder.
As we walk out of the library I contemplate on asking Draco about his father and the appearance he made today, I end up deciding to just go for it cause yolo.
"Is everything all right Draco?" I ask, looking up to him as we walk down the first flight of stairs.
"I'm with you, so why wouldn't it?" he questions raising a brow, "Why do you ask?"
I swallow thickly, "It's just, I saw your father today talking with Professor Snape as I was on my way to the library. It seemed serious" I respond glancing over to him as we make our way to the next flight of stairs.
"My father? Are you sure?" he asks meeting my glance.
"Certain, do you know why he was here?" I further question.
"Dunno" he responds looking deep in thought.
I abruptly stop and walk in front of him preventing him from taking another step and take both of his hand in mine. "If something's going on you know you could tell me right?" I ask searching for his eyes.
"I already told you that I don't know" he scoffs looking to the side. "I'm not so hungry anymore, you go on" he announces letting go of my hands as he walks towards the opposing stairs.
As he leaves me standing in the hall by myself I can't help but feel sorry. I shouldn't push him on topics he's not comfortable with, especially topics like his father. I sigh. I'll just give him his space for now and head down to the dinning hall.

As I walk into the hall I scan the room for any of my friends. Unfortunately, my go to man, Blaise doesn't appear to be here. I could've really used some Draco intel right now to help ease my mind. But I still have to eat regardless, so I go find Luna and spot her seated with her Gryffindor friends. I saunter over to her and request if I may intrude her time with her friends. Luna happily accepts and scoots over to make room for me.
I greet all her kind friends whom I remember meeting on the train ride over to Hogwarts; Hermione, Ron and of course Harry, and one new ginger whom I don't remember meeting. I ease right into their previous conversation as I begin to select my food. After about twenty minutes of exciting chatter and a full stomach I feel someone poke my shoulder.
"Draco wouldn't like this" the male voice hums.
I immediately turn behind me and identify the back of a tall figure with Slytherin robes walking away from me and from their strut I'm able to tell it's Blaise. He literally struts like he owns the place, it's quite hilarious actually.
I grab my bag and excuse myself from Luna and her friends and thank them for letting me join them. I immediately rush to Blaises and I's usual spot at the back table, surely enough he's there.
"Blaise" I announce sweetly, hoping he's willing to give up some information on Draco.
"Y/n" he greets in the same tone.
I take a seat across from him, "Do you know what's going on with Draco?" I question looking up at him as he fixes himself a plate.
"What isn't going on with Draco" he laughs looking down at his food.
"Blaise! I'm serious" I announce "I'm trying to be a good girlfriend here" I say, hoping to get some sympathy.
"Ok ok, there's nothing going on with Draco, nothing out of the ordinary at least" he responds before taking a bite out of his chicken leg. "Why do you ask?" he questions looking up at me.
"I saw his father today-", I begin.
"-Wait, you saw Lucius here, at school?" Blaise asks with a puzzled look.
"Yeah, why do you know something?" I ask leaning into the table.
"No! Why would I know anything Y/n. All I know is that If Draco's father is here, nothing good can come from it" he replies taking a swig from his juice.
"Ok, I think I've given Draco enough time to cool off" I say out loud. "Will you be ok here, or do you want me to wait till you're done eating bestie?" I tease with a smile.
"Go on" he says with a laugh.
---
As I arrive down at the dungeons I mumble the password to the portrait laid in front of the common room. Once granted access into the green light common room, I walk up the stairs leading up to the girls side of the dorms to place my bag down before I go talk to Draco. I unlock my dorm door and to my surprise find Draco laying in my bed leaning against the head board as he reads a book, one of my books. Though he won't admit, he actually finds some enjoyment in reading.
"Draco?" I announce getting him to to lift his eyes off the book. He quickly shuts the book like he's been caught doing something embarrassing and places it beside him on the bed.
"Hey", he responds with a half smile as he straightens himself up against the back of my bed.
I place my bag on the ground beside my door and approach the opposite side of my bed taking a seat on the bottom corner of it. "I'm sorry about earlier-" I start.
"It's fine" he respond with a soft smile. "I would tell you if I knew something about my father being here you know."
"I know" I sigh.
He gestures for me to come lay beside him and I happily oblige. I give him a quick kiss on the lips before cuddling up next to him and laying my head on his warm chest. In doing this, Draco begins to gently play with my hair as he places a kiss on the top of my head.
"I have news" he speaks softly as he reaches for my book to resume reading.
"Oh yeah?" I mumble feeling myself growing tired.
"Yes" he hums, "You're invited to come spend Christmas with me at the manor this year"
I immediately lift my head to meet his face and see a small smile growing. "Really?" I beam.
He nods. "I was going to tell you earlier but-" he announces looking down at me making sure I meet his eyes.
"Hey, I already said sorry!" I defend squinting my eyes at him.
"I know" he chuckles. "Mum will be sure to send you a formal invitation once it's December" he continues.
"Was it easy convincing your father?"
"Of course not, but he eventually gave in one day" he responds.
I hum.
I rest my head back on his chest. "I'm really glad I get to spend Christmas this year with my favorite person" I beam nuzzling into him.
He responds by kissing my head once more as I drift off into a deep slumber.
