《Malfoy v. Diggory (reader x draco malfoy x cedric diggory x reader love story)》chapter 22

It's the third week back at school and I've never been happier. Things with Draco are great. There's been no turmoil, arguments, cold shoulders, none. Though this does make me extremely happy, it makes me weary of the things to come.
Draco's never left my side since our time back at Hogwarts. Most times I find this sweet, but it can be aggravating at times, I know he's constantly with me so that he can keep track of my whereabouts and who I'm with, but he needs to loosen up and trust me.
We make our way to our last class of the day, Divination and as we're walking through the crowded hallway Draco takes my hand in his sending me a small smirk.
"What're you smirking about?" I chuckle meeting his grey eyes.
"Nothing" he smiles looking down at me.
I hum suspiciously as we continue down the hall.
"Y/N!"
"Fucks sake" he hisses turning behind us.
I turn back as well and see Luna.
"Luna!" I shout.
I let go of Dracos hand and feel him grip tighter.
"Draco-"
He rolls his eyes and finally lets go allowing me to run to Luna and give her a long overdue hug.
"Y/n! How are you! I feel like I never see you anymore" she says with a cheery smile which is quick to fade when she realizes who I'm with. I notice her face fall a little so I mouth 'I'll see you later' to Draco, with a wink.
As I turn back to Luna excited to catch up on all that I've missed since I've been spending so much time with Draco I feel a cold hand grab my face turning me towards them and instantly recognize his pale features. He grabs my face roughly and looks around the very full hallway before smashing his lips against mine. I wait for him to ease up, but he doesn't, he further proceeds to slip his tongue into my mouth as he grabs my waist.
"Draco" I utter breathlessly nudging him off of me.
He smirks with his lips still on mine earning a smile from me.
"Go!" I announce playfully. "I'll see you later" I say once again.
With that he fades into the large sea of students.
I turn back to face Luna and link my arm with hers as we walk to class.
"So you and Malfoy?" Luna questions.
"Yes" I blush a bit embarrassed about what just happened. He no doubt just wanted to claim his 'territory'.
"Hm" she hums looking straight ahead.
"Is there a problem?" I ask with pleading eyes, she won't look at me, why? Is she disgusted by the fact that I'm with Draco?
"Oh no, no problem Y/n, as long as you're happy" she states with a smile still looking ahead.
"Are you sure?" I ask once more.
"Well, it's just that from what I've seen Draco doesn't seem like a very good person, much less a guy who deserves an extraordinary girl like you" she responds meeting my eyes with her kind blue ones.
"I see" I say softly looking down at the cobbled ground.
"It's just- I really liked you and Cedric together, he's such a sweet handsome guy who's worthy of you" she consoles.

"Yeah". I know Cedrics the obvious choice, but I know Draco's just as worthy as Cedric. Draco has a side that he doesn't just show to anyone, that's the side I know, the one I love. I can't blame Luna for thinking Cedric would be the better choice, she doesn't know Draco like I do.

After a long day of classes I head over to the common room and decide to read until dinner. I lay on one of the big leather couches resting my head on a pillow against the arm of the couch. As time goes on and it gets darker outside the words on the page start to jumble up into one big blob. I decide to put my book down on my stomach, leaving it open on the page I left off on and allow my heavy eyes to close momentarily.
~~~~
I flutter my eyes open and stretch reaching down for my book and realize it's not there. In fact, I'm not in the common room at all. I rub my eyes until they open and sit up taking in the familiar surroundings.
"Get enough sleep?"
I snap my head over to the sound of a deep voice and see a tall pale figure with white-blond hair. Draco. He steps out of the bathroom turning off the lights as he walks to the bed. He takes a seat right next to me and places a warm hand on my leg.
"Why'd you move me? I was just fine down there".
"Please, you don't seriously prefer that old moldy couch over this soft cloud do you?" he asks before laying on his back as he spreads his arms to the length of the bed.
I roll my eyes shoving the covers off of me as I get up, but before my feet can reach the ground I feel a strong hand pull my back.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"To my room" I respond trying to get back up.
"No you're not" he asserts pulling me back in and placing me on top of his chest.
"You know you're pretty clingy these days" I say as I nuzzle my head into his chest.
"Weren't you the one who said and I quote 'figure your shit out Malfoy'"he mocks.
I chuckle.
"Yeah, I guess I just didn't expect you to figure it out so quick" I respond.
"I can go back to being cold and distant" he grins.
"I think you should, I'm not sure that I like this side of you" I tease.
"You're-"
I place a warm kiss on his lips not allowing him to finish and get up from the bed.
"Dinner?" I ask.
He nods his head and he too gets off the bed.
We take our usual seat with Blaise and the two goons at our table. Draco and I sit beside each other while the boys sit across from us. I start by serving some chicken and rice onto my plate followed by a glass of juice.
"So, how has everybody been?" I ask looking at the boys in front of me.
"Alright" Crabbe and Goyle say in unison.
"And you Blaise?"
"Fine, nothing too exciting. Though, I can't say the same for Draco, he's much happ-"
I notice Draco tighten his grip on his fork as he sends Zabini a deadly glance.
Blaise clears his throat.
"Yeah I'm good" he continues.
I turn over to Draco and mumble softly: "You know I know that he knows right?"
Draco whispers as well: "Who knows what?"
I roll my eyes.
"I know that Zabini knows about us dummy".
"What'd he say to you? I swear if-" he fumes.
I intertwine my hand with his under the table.
"No Draco, relax. I told him, he's my friend as well."
He lets out a loud sigh.
"What're you scared that he's going to tell me anyway?" I chuckle.
"I don't know" he shrugs. "just guy stuff, nothing you need to know about".
I blush.
I continue eating my dinner as I talk with boys about anything that I missed since I last spoke to them. Throughout the entirety of the conversation Draco whispers dirty things in my ear no doubt trying to get me alone, but I just laugh off his comments.
I lean into his ear: "It's not going to work" I sing. "So you can stop now".
But of course he doesn't listen, instead this encourages him to keep going.
As I try to keep my focus on the group discussion, trying to avoid Draco. I catch a familiar Hufflepuff staring at me. Cedric. Upon making eye contact he motions his head towards the exit of the great hall. I nod in agreement.
"I'll be right back guys". As I proceed to get up I notice Draco shoot me a puzzled look to which I smile weakly.
As I exit the great hall I see Cedric standing against a pillar across the courtyard. Merlin, I haven't really spoken to him since Christmas day, I wonder what's on his mind.
"What's up?"
He smiles weakly in response before crossing his arms.
"So, that's why you've been avoiding me?" he questions scanning the courtyard.
I let out a muffled sigh as I lean against the opposing pillar.
"If you think I've been avoiding you, you're wrong. I've just been busy Ced".
"Busy with the secret boyfriend huh?" he scoffs. "Or in other words Malfoy".
"Yes."
He looks up so that our eyes can finally meet.
"I reckon he wouldn't like me talking to you would he Y/n? Or at all?"
"He doesn't own me. I'm my own person and can do what I please, so if talking with you pleases me, then I'm not going to stop just because Draco doesn't like it."
He nods.
"And you're sure he'll treat you right?" he asks raising his eyebrow.
"Well things are going well so far, so yes. I can always leave if things get bad, but I'm not one to give up easily" I respond.
"Hmm" he hums.
Cedric looks over my shoulder and clenches his jaw as he leans away from the pillar.
"I see I've poked the bear" he mumbles.
I look over my shoulder and see Draco walking towards us with anger filled in his eyes.
Shit.
"I'll see you around" Cedric says looking over my shoulder.
I turn around and see Draco already standing beside me.
"Shit! You sacred the crap out of me!" I announce.
"What the hell were you two walking about?" he hisses.
"Ok first calm down-"
"I asked you a fucking question Y/n. What. Were. You. Two. Talking. About." he asks once more making sure to enunciate each and every word.
I scoff.
"Come talk to me when you're done being childish," I growl before giving a look of utter disappointment and walk away from him.
He turns still standing in the same spot I left him at.
"You like him, don't you?" he shouts down the hall causing his voice to echo against the walls.
I stop in my tracks turning back once more to look at him in disbelief and turn right back around and make my way to the Astronomy tower. As I run up the towers steps I feel tears starting to sprout. Well you've really done it this time Malfoy. This was the first time I've ever cried over him. And I hated it. I carefully sat on the ledge of the tower leaning against the side of it for support. I sat there for a couple hours looking into the dark sky thinking over several things, one being; why couldn't Draco see that I like him and no one else? I just spent the past month growing my relationship with him like never before. I hadn't even spoken a word to Diggory until today. I don't know what else to do. I'm not going to stop hanging out with my friend just because he doesn't like it, no one holds that power over me.
I sigh.
He needs to learn how to trust me.
I carefully climb off the ledge and jump onto the towers stone ground slowly making my way down the stairs and to the common room. I hang my head low so people don't suspect that I've been crying. I finally arrive in front of the common room and mumble the code to get in. Upon entering the green lit room I look up and see Blaise sitting on one of the armchairs. He too notices me come in and meets my eyes.
"Y/n, are you ok?" he says with concern in his voice.
Shit.
He must've seen how red and puffy my eyes are.
"I'm fine" I lie, sending him a soft smile.
"Are you sure? You know I'm always here" he reassures placing his book down onto the table in front of him.
"Thanks Blaise, but I don't feel like taking about it right now." I respond making my way across the common room.
He gets up and walks to me.
"I can beat his ass if you want" he whispers lowly with a grin.
I chuckle submerging him into a hug.
"No, not yet as least" I respond letting him go.
I smile at him once more before heading up to my room and throwing myself onto my bed.
