I wake up and lie in bed for a little while. I stare up at the ceiling and replay the events of last night in my head and can't help but smile. It's nice to know that me and Draco may have a chance of getting closer this year. 

I get ready for the day and head down to the dinning hall for breakfast. I see Pansy sitting down at our normal spot and join her. 

"Hey" I say as I grab a blueberry muffin.

"Hi y/n" she says scooping up a spoonful of oatmeal. 

We sit and talk over breakfast and talk about various things. Pansy is always in everybody elses business, so she always keep me up to date on what's happening. 

"Have you seen the new girl?" Pansy asks turning to me eagerly.

"A new girl? No I haven't. What's her name?"

"Luna Lovegood"

"Lovegood?" I ask with a small chuckle. "Wow she must be a good and loveable person then."

"You could say that" she says returning to her food "But she's quite strange. Always hanging out alone and talking to animals."

"Point her out to me?" I ask.

Pansy points to a platinum blonde girl who's sitting by herself at the Hufflepuff table. Being alone doesn't seem to bother her though, she seems content. I may introduce myself to her soon. Pansy can really get on my nerves sometimes, plus it couldn't hurt to surround myself with more positivity. 

"Wow she literally exudes happiness" I say turning back to Pansy. 

"Ugh I know right" Pansy says rolling her eyes. "Well I best be off, see you later y/n" she says as she gets up. 

"Later"

I head go back up to my room to get my bag and over to my DADA class. I notice as soon as I walk in that the desks have been moved to the side and that everyone is standing around a big mirror with gold encrustings. I walk over to Draco and greet him.

"Well I think that's everyone, good morning all" Lupin says smiling as he heads over to the front of the classroom. 

"Today we've been lucky enough to be graced with the Mirror of Erised" Lupin says as he points to the mirror. "The Mirror of Erised is suppose to reflect your greatest desire. I would like everyone to form a line in front of the mirror please and share what they see, and don't fret. Only the beholder of mirror can see what is being reflected."

With that said everyone rushes to form one big line in the center of the class. First up is Harry. He steps up and takes everything in.

"Tell us, what do you see Harry?" Professor Lupin asks. 

"Well I- I see my parents!" Harry says with a big smile. "They look so real" he says going in to touch the mirror. 

"Ahh yes, but don't forget Harry it is only a mirror after all"

With that said Harry cheerfully steps off to the side allowing the next person to go. 

Finally after about what feels like to be 100 people it's my turn. I step up not knowing what to expect. Reflected back I see snow falling down upon Hogsmeade and an image of me and Cedric sitting down at Three Broomsticks laughing together and enjoying Butterbeers. But that image quickly fades and is replaced with a new one of me and Draco sharing a kiss on the astronomy tower. Unconsciously I put my hand to my mouth to keep from gasping.

"So y/n what'd you see?" Lupin asks.

"Uh- I see myself becoming a- a prefect" I say scrambling for words. I didn't want people knowing who I liked and I didn't want Malfoy to get the wrong idea. 

"Very nice" he says. 

I step out from in front of the mirror and reflect on what just happened. What the actual fuck. Draco? Why was he what I saw in the mirror? I knew that I didn't like Draco and that we were merrily just friends. I try to block out the image of me and Draco from my head and decide to dwell on the happy one of me and Cedric laughing together while it was snowing outside. 

"What was that about?" Draco asks as he returns from having just gone to the mirror. 

"What was what about?" I say contemplating whether I should tell him the truth or lie.

"Ok, now I know you're definitely trying to hide something"

"It wasn't much really, just an image of me and Ced hanging out at Hogsmeade laughing and having a good time together" 

"Ced? Who the fuck is that?"

"Oh, I mean Cedric." I say blushing at the fact I just told him my nickname for Cedric.

"You two have been getting cozy then?"

"No, just friends"

"Right"

Draco doesn't talk to me for the rest of the class. I imagine it has something to do with what I saw in the mirror. I could have completely lied to Draco, but I decided that a half truth would be better. Besides that image in the mirror with me and Draco couldn't be right. Me liking Draco, no I'm sorry Draco liking me? There was no way that could ever happen, the boy incapable of human emotion. 

After everyone has a turn in the mirror the class is let out. Professor Lupin assigns us to read chapters 3-8 and answer the questions in the textbook as well. As everyone is piling up at the door I ask Draco if he wants to join me in the library to do our homework together. He looks over at me coldly and says "no". See, like I said earlier the boy is incapable of human emotion.

So, instead I invite Blaise to come to the library with me. We arrive at the library and take a seat at my usual table.

"Not trying to sound rude or anything, but why did you invite me instead of Pansy or Cedric or anyone else?" Blaise asks as we're getting settled. 

"Well Pansy hasn't had Lupin yet today and well Cedric doesn't have this class though I'm sure he would've agreed to come anyway."

"Oh, so I'm the last option huh?"Blaise says pretending to look hurt. 

"Nooo, I could've easily done this on my own. I just thought since you weren't doing anything why not suffer together" I say with a warm smile. 

"You're definitely not a Slytherin" he says laughing.

"I think you're right" I say letting out a small chuckle. Personally I've always felt myself to be a Hufflepuff, but the sorting hat knows what it's doing. Well, hopefully it does.
