《Malfoy v. Diggory (reader x draco malfoy x cedric diggory x reader love story)》chapter 3

Today is the first day of lessons and I feel ready and energized for the day. I'm ready to start off the new school year strong. I take a shower, get changed into my nicely pressed robes and decide to tie my hair back into a loose ponytail wrapping it with a dark green ribbon. I walk over to the great hall and join my friends for breakfast.
Breakfast was a little quiet today. I think everyone is a little sad that schools starting up again. Once I'm done eating I walk with Pansy to her first class, and then make my way over to my first class, Charms. On my walk over to class I spot a familiar Slytherin and decide that I'll walk with him.
"Hey, Draco, wait up!" I say shouting a little ways from him as I jog to join him.
Noticing me, he starts to shorten his strides so that I can catch up, "What's up y/n?"
"Nothing much, just wanted to get to class together" I look up at him with a warm smile. "So, I imagine you're excited for Charms this year?" I say playfully digging my elbow into his side.
He lets out a quiet laugh in response. "Hey sit by me. You'll make this class somewhat bearable"
"Awww I'll make it bearable? What an honor Mr.Malfoy" I say placing my hand over my heart while aggressively batting my eyes.
He rolls his eyes in response. We finally arrive at Charms, and take our seats next to each other sitting in the back. I wanted to sit closer up, but Draco insisted on sitting here. He probably didn't want people thinking that he actually cared about learning. Typical Draco.
Charms class was pretty uneventful, Flitwick taught us a new spell called Wingardium Leviosa. Emphasis on the O, was the only takeaway I had from that lesson thanks to Hermione.

After Charms I have Transfiguration next, with Draco of course. This time I force Draco to sit closer up, telling him that if he wishes to sit in the back he could, but he'd be alone. After the lecture I try to push Draco to speak to McGonagall about the detention that he showed up for when she wasn't there. But it was no use he wouldn't listen. Draco just wanted leave and forget about it, fearing that he'd have to actually serve it if he brought it up.
We go back to the common room and I ask if he wants to join me in doing our Charms and Transfiguration homework. He agrees and we split the work in half for the sake of saving time. As we're doing our work together I think about how I've never spent so much one on one time with Draco. Not that I'm complaining, he's been quite pleasant so far, well at least to me. After a couple hours we finish up our work and I immediately start to gather my stuff.
"Woah, where are you off to in such a rush?" Draco asks eyeing me as I get up from the couch.
I reach into my bag and pull out my history syllabus. "I'm off to go study up on..." I look down at the syllabus to make sure I don't butcher the name. "...Nicolas Flamel. Our history syllabus says we'll have a quiz on him later this week so I though I'd get a head start. You're welcome to join."
"Not that, that doesn't sound fun and all" I roll my eyes in response. "But I actually promised Blaise that I'd practice with him on the field today" he says sending me a weak smile.
"Oh, ok that's fine, I'll see you later then" I say waving goodbye to him as I head out the door.

Once I get to the library I set my stuff down on a small leather sofa and go to search for the history book I need. I start scanning through the books and start to panic internally when I can't seem to find it. Ok, ok relax. I start mumbling under my breath the name of the book 'Nicolas Flamel and the Elixir of Life'. I start moving down further along the aisle as I whisper the title to myself over and over. I notice a cheery rosy cheeked boy come search the same bookcase as me and pull out a big brown dusty book.
He approaches me while handing me this big book with a smile. "Nicolas Flamel right?"
I let out a small chuckle. "Yeah, thanks" I say as I tuck a piece of my hair behind my ear.
"No problem" he says placing his hands in his pockets. "I don't think we've met before have we?" He offers me his hand as he formally introduces himself. "I'm Cedric Diggory."
"Nice to meet you Cedric, I'm Y/n Y/l/n" I say shaking his hand.
"Thats a gorgeous name for a gorgeous girl" he says offering me a smile.
I can't help but blush a little, he's quite handsome himself. "Thank you" I say letting out a soft laugh. "Well I should get back to my studies, but it was nice to meet you Cedric" I say starting back towards the couch where I placed my things.
"Hey! Why don't I join you? I could always use the extra studying."
"I'd like that. My things are just over there..." I say pointing over to my stuff. "...do you mind if we study there?"
"Not at all" he says sweetly as he follows behind me.
After we've studied for awhile we get to know each other a little better. Cedric shares that he's a third year Hufflepuff, while I share that I too am a third year, but in Slytherin. He doesn't seem weary of me being a Slytherin though, most people who aren't in the same house find it difficult to coexist, but not him. We have yet to see each other in any of our classes, but it's only the first day so we're hopeful. We stay talking for a long while and don't realize how late it is until I look up at the clock and see that our curfew begins soon.
"Oh shoot, I didn't even notice how late it was until now. We should probably get going before curfew" I say starting to gather my things.
"How rude of me to keep you out so late, I do apologize" he says offering me his hand to assist me off the couch.
I look up at him and smile. "It's fine you couldn't have known."
"At least let me walk you down to the dungeons" he says grabbing his bag.
I nod in agreement.
We keep a light conversation afloat as we walk down the hall and eventually arrive at the entrance of the common room.
"It was great getting to know you Cedric, I hope we see more of each other around" I say rocking back and forth on my heels.
He takes a couple steps closer to me and looks down at me with a smile. "I'll see you soon y/n."
Cedric leaves allowing me to say the password to get in. I climb up the stairs to my room and flop face first onto my bed and fall asleep with a smile.
