《The Dark Apprentice: a teen titans fanfiction》My New Mission

I grunted as I slashed my arm to the side, swinging my blade to stop the oncoming staff of my Master. Relentlessly, he swerved the staff around my blade and swung at my thigh.
Desperate to avoid getting hit, I twisted my wrist causing the blade to, again, block the strike. Slade smiled at me before kicking at my legs.
I jumped into the air and landed on his shoulder in a crouch. As fast as I could, I leapt up and kicked him in the mask, hearing the crunch of metal caving in. I gracefully back flipped 20 feet away from him and stood in position, my katana ready for his strike.
But it never came. I stood, panting and sweating from the sheer amount of training today. Slade was doubled over, holding his mask. I watched closely as he felt the large dent left by my heel.
As he straightened, I immediately tensed, suspecting a trick. He merely nodded to me.
"Well done today, Apprentice. You are dismissed. You are to report back here in 3 hours for your next mission."
"Yes, Master" I replied before swiftly turning and exiting the room. I decided to jog back to my room in order to slow my racing heart, but still train. I entered the black room and crossed the floor to my dresser while I removed my training armour and set it next to my new set of dark blue tinted titanium armour.
Slade had been pleased enough with my progress to the point where he would reward me with a book I requested.
Over the past couple weeks, every time I successfully completed a mission or level of training, he would allow me to pick out an item, besides a book, for myself. So far, I had gotten an ipod, new armor more to my liking, my kickass sword, a new cloak with a deeper hood that covered my entire body (the one she wears in the show except black), a new speaker system for my ipod, and a new attachment for my sword, though I didnt know what it did.
I turned on playlist and Diary of Jane, by Breaking Benjamin started to play. I quietly sang along while I focused my mind for meditation.
I drifted off into my mind and was immediately at peace. The music being played was quiet in my mind, giving it a distant sound as I concentrated.

In no time, my internal clock told me it had been almost 3 hours since I had come here, so reluctantly, I opened my eyes with a sigh. I lowered to the ground and stretched as I eased back into reality.
I stood and walked back to my dresser. I was pretty excited to be able to try out my new gear. Slade had been keeping me in lately, saying that I needed to prepare for my next assignment. Insisting that we went to the next levels of training. Pushing me harder and harder. I hadnt known why, but I didnt question him.
I glanced at the clock on my ipod, seeing I had 5 minutes until I was to meet Slade. I turned down my music and pulled my new cloak around my shoulders. Lastly I quickly tied the laces to my black combat boots before jogging down to the warehouse to avoid being late.
I got to the door and new there were 10 seconds to 7, when I was to meet him. I counted down to avoid being early and as I got to one, I phased inside and appeared kneeling before my Master, my head bowed.
"You summoned me, Master?" I said in my monotone.
"Right on time my dear. Just like always. Good." he smiled at me under his mask, but I could hear it in his voice. "Now. For your next assignment, you will be going undercover."
I nodded. "Understood Master. May I ask where I will be infiltrating?"
He nodded before saying in a surprisingly eager tone.
"The Teen Titans."
Just as I was about to question him, he held up his hand. "Allow me to explain"
"Please do"
"Well, seeing as how youve nearly completed you training with me, you shall be infiltrating the Titans. Become one of them. Gain their trust. Make them depend on your skills. Learn their secrets. And only when I give the order shall you make any indication that you serve me."
"Understood, Master. But how? We have fought several times."
"Yes, but they have yet to see your face. And with your new gear, you do not appear to serve me"
So that was why he allowed me to pick my new wardrobe.

"But my sword Master. I will be unable to train at all with it, let alone sharpen or practice with it."
He stepped forward and grabbed my wrist, turning it so he and I could see the switches on it. He pressed one on the end and I felt the sword shudder. Turning me head, I saw that it was gone. But I could still feel the weight.
"A custom cloaking device that I had attached to the sheathe. Simply keep it on, and the Titans shall never know of it."
"Yes, Master. One more question."
"Speak."
"When do I start?"
I saw his eye crease with his smile. I knew that look. It was the 'You're supposed to be gone by now' look. I nodded and phased away to my room to back things I wanted to bring. Of course, I would hide them in a pocket of another dimension so I can get them later.
I teleported to the coast, just on the other side of the tower and was right about to fly across, when I saw the Titans leaving. 2 were flying, Starfire and Beast Boy, both carrying a teammate. I hid into the shadows and decided that this was the perfect time to get on their good side.
I flew after them as they approached a familiar army of Slade bots. The Titans immediately started to attack, thought they waited for Robin's "TITANS, GO". Soon the teens were surrounded, as a very boastful Slade stood above them. I saw something standing next to him and immediately recognized it as a hologram of me.
I smirked. He had planned this. Planned that I would follow them to try and earn their trust as a comrade. I phased into the asphalt and rose back up again just as the Slade bots fired their blasters at the Teens.
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos!" I cried as I created a force field of my powers around us. I saw Slade give a nod, which I returned discreetly.
"TITANS, COVER ME" I heard Robin yell as he ran towards Slade and his 'apprentice'. I flew along above him, shielding the boy from the bots. Robin lept into the air but was blocked by 'Me'.
This, confused me. I realized he must have disguised a bot as me in order to fully fool the Titans. As 'I' lunged for Robin with a punch, I grabbed the fist. Immediately feeling cold metal. I smirked and threw the bot to the ground below, sending it through the road and into the sewers.
The others looked at me amazed. I know how much they struggled to even defend against my attacks, and they thought that I had just been thrown out of the fight by some random girl.
I turned to Slade, who was pinning Robin to the ground, and charged towards him. He released Robin and met my charge, beginning to fight me like when we trained. As we fought, he whispered instructions to me.
"Duck. Punch. Kick. Back Flip away. Strike!" With his instructions, we put on quite a show. Eventually, Slade played defeat and ran away after a wink to me.
I sighed and relaxed, turning to the astonished Titans.
"Dude! We cant even land a single hit on that guy together! And you just took him down!" Beast Boy said excitedly.
"Yes! This is most impressive!" Starfire added.
"Hey! Maybe you should join the team!" Cyborg yelled, even though I was right next to him. Beast Boy and Starfire voiced their agreements and looked at Robin for an answer.
"Whoa whoa whoa. Don't I get a say in this?" I asked. They looked at me like I was crazy. "Look, im flattered that you want me on your team, but im just staying for a few days." I said, hoping I wasnt blowing my chance. Starfire saved me.
"Nonsense! You are my new friend and you shall stay with us!" she said in a tone that said no arguing. I sighed in 'defeat'.
"Fine" I said. Beast Boy, Cyborg and Starfire cheered. Robin smiled at me and held out his hand.
"My names Robin. Leader of the Titans. And you are?" he asked politely. I shook his hand.
"My name's Raven" I said with a small smile. I pulled down my hood, revealing my violet hair and eyes, along with my pale face. "Good to meet you Robin".
