I walked casually down the darkened hallways of Slade's warehouse, thinking of all that has happened to me since I woke up in that alley. I was on my way to Slade's training area, made specifically for me, when I was attacked by 4 Slade-bots.
Its had been about 3 months since our meeting, and 3 months since she began training under Slade.
At first, I was miserable. The training consisted of 2 hours of constant sprinting for Let alone the actual workout and combat practice. After that was the drill to strengthen my control over my emotions, which mainly consisted of Slade yelling insults and taunts until I was about to lose control, then having me regain it.
About a month into it, I was seeing real progress. I could do my morning run without breaking a sweat. I was running faster every day. I havent lost my temper in weeks, and I could hold my own against Slade himself.
Slade, to say the least, was extremely pleased with my progress. I had memorized his fighting techniques on the first day, and have since copied them perfectly. With an occasional touch of my own style.
At first, the drones seemed easy. Until I realized each were programmed with different fighting styles. It was the most difficult session in weeks, but I didnt question Slade. I've learned not to. The drones corresponded to the others attacks, and worked as a team. With a master such as Slade, combat practice is not finished until I finish my opponent. No mercy is to be shone either.
After 4 more hours of this, I finally managed to defeat the last of the robots. I heard a slow clapping from behind me and spun around to see Slade, in all his black armored glory, standing a few meters away.

"Good, Raven. Good. Soon you will be equipped enough to go on missions for me" he said, his chilling voice sending a shiver down my spine. I nodded, feeling the familiar sense of longing, longing to be outside, return.
"Dismissed" he told me. I automatically stood at attention, before spinning around and going back to my room.
I continued my walk till I found a door with stamped into it. I placed my hand on the hidden scanner above the frame and heard the familiar 'click' just before the door slid open. I rolled my neck, hearing several cracks as the tension released. I walked inside, flicking on the light switch, the room instantly being lit by a dark, bluish light. It helped to sooth me. The familiar color bathed me in its glow as I undid the clasp of my cloak.
I looked at my cloak with quiet loathing. It wasnt my favorite dark blue, but Black with a large orange S on the back, the mark of Slade. I had requested to keep my original, but that had only resulted in being taught not to question Slade. Underneath the cloak wasnt so bad. I wore a black jumpsuit, cover with black tinted steel armor. The problem was, though it provides plenty of protection, it didnt exactly... blend in.
I didnt question Slade, for at the time, I had been weary of him. I still am, at times. Though he has been very patient and kind, most of the time, he still had his moments when his voice went cold, he stood in a threatening way, and his ice blue eye promised pain to those who dares to stand in his way.
I sat onto my queen sized, black shrouded bed and sighed in content. Finally, I could relax. And Tomorrow, tomorrow was the day I showed myself to the world.
I wonder who will try to stop me, I thought to myself as I lay back into the soft, comforting feeling of sleep. Eh, probably no one of interest, I finished before finally drifting off into a deep sleep.

Apex Predator
Earth is a fairly small place, but it's all Bath has. It's the only home he's ever known for all of his 500-or-so-million years of life. One day, Bath realized his treasured Earth was being drawn into the next mass extinction ahead of schedule. So, fascinated by the humans and their quick rise to power (after all, setting off a mass extinction is a pretty sizable achievement), what's a nearly all-powerful, somewhat bored, morally ambiguous, savagely violent, shapeshifting alien entity to do other than assume the form of a human and do some front-line investigating? Little did Bath know he would soon stumble upon a mysterious human organization with a gate leading to planets eons away. And that's just the beginning... A story with aliens, intergalactic space travel, mind powers, and an abundance of adventure! Author's note: ON HIATUS! Hello and thank you for reading! Constructive criticism and grammar-policing are both appreciated. Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are complete at 1271 pages! Part 7 is in progress! If you've ever read any other web serials, you might've noticed that authors get better with time (that is, their art or writing improves). Wutosama of Metaworld Chronicles noted that the first 20 chaps are always a mess. This is also the case with Apex Predator. The first two parts (ranging just under 30 chapters, or 161 pages) are absolutely subpar. While I have edited them as of 7-10-18, they require a rewrite, which is currently in the works but not complete. For a sample that gives insight into what the latter ~80% of the story's writing style is like, check out chapter 56. Vote for Apex Predator on Top Web Fiction! The Apex Predator Discord is here. Cover: original work done by me, the author, caerulex.

I'm Always Talking to Myself
My name is Zach. I’m a typical bland featureless protagonist type. The kind of guy who has purposefully few defining characteristics so that people can project whatever they want on me. Like Luke from Star Wars or what’s her name from Twilight. Most main characters are like me. Kind of flavorless blank slates because we all secretly doubt that we’re Harrison Ford, but pretty much anyone could be Mitt Romney. Yep. Yes indeed, I do spend basically my entire life running an internal dialog to no one. Usually I’m imagining that there are people listening. Like maybe philosophers from Ancient Greece, or researchers from another planet who act suspiciously like the characters from that Instagram comic with the aliens. Stupid Instagram comedians stealing my internal monologue and turning into a wildly successful enterprise which I would imagine has a vibrant merch dropshipping arm and hundreds of thousands of daily dopamine hits for loyal followers. I basically spend all of my time explaining random things to imaginary people (and aliens, and animals, and household items which have inexplicably gained sentience and frankly have some concerns about this whole existence thing). Honestly, it’s both highly entertaining to me, in that it makes me think about why we humans do all of the bizarre things that we do, but also horrifically exhausting and kind of makes you feel like you’re either, worst cast, losing your grip on reality, or best case, becoming Abed from Community. Anyway, I’m sure that I have some distinguishing characteristics, but, in the interest of hypnotic suggestion I’m choosing to omit them until I’m pretty sure that you have subconsciously come to identify with me, or until I feel like it. (By the way, in case I forgot to mention it, a higher power called Aww Thor or something told me to say that this is a slice-of-life comedy adventure and that it's set in a fantasy world with isekai and LitRPG elements.)

Dragon Travels
Dragons. Mythical creatures that inspire awe and wonder in cultures all across the world. Wouldn't it be amazing to befriend such majestic beasts and go on an adventure with them? To be a dragon rider and live through a tale of epic proportions? Ryder, who's so obsessed with the idea that he nicknamed himself as such, certainly thinks so. Sadly, he lived in a world where such creatures only exist in fiction, and one where none of his peers or family shared the same passionate interest in dragons like him. Every night, he would fantasize what it would be like to live in a world where they do exist, and one day, his fantasy became reality. Upon landing in a new world, he found himself in the company of cheery and naïve plant dragon who was just as excited as him to be the companion of a dragon rider. After that, they encountered a worldly earth dragon, who followed them under the guise of guiding them while hiding her own dark secrets. Lastly, regarded by many as The Terror of The East, a dragon so powerful and terrifying that it's known as a demigod, lowered his pride in order to escape his thousand-year prison and joined Ryder's merry band. It isn't all fun and games as the Goddess who brought the teenager here has sent him on a mission - to rid the evil forces that had risen in the world and threaten the balance of the realm. Together with his three dragon companions, Ryder traveled across different lands as he found himself involved in the matters of both tragic and entertainingly eccentric individuals. So, if you like How to Train Your Dragon or just dragons in general, isekai adventure stories, and/or a found family-esque story with witty banters and interesting characters, then this is what you're looking for! Note: This is an anthology series, therefore the arcs are not presented in a linear fashion. There will be recurring characters and arcs that continues story threads from previous "chapters", but, for the most part, each arc standalone as a complete story, so you can pick and choose what you want to read. If you watched Star Wars: The Clone Wars cartoon series before, it's basically like that.I'm still relatively new in writing, so I would appreciate it if you'll be kind enough to provide feedback!
