《His Proposal》Bonus chapter 3: Naming Day
Advertisement
It's been a busy morning, I have been in the kitchen cooking food for the guests that are coming for the naming day. Jai has been keeping our six-month-old daughter out of my way by playing with her. I wouldn't be surprised if her room is a mess and I'm going to be the one cleaning it up before the guests arrive.
The doorbell rings as I'm putting the final touches on the cake. "Jai, can you get the door?"
Jai walks down the stairs with Paige in his arms. He kisses my head. "Sure," he scoops up the cream that's on the plate and puts it on my nose. "You look cute with cream on your face."
I'm going to pay him back later.
Harley walks into the kitchen.
Harley is heavily pregnant and the baby is due any day now. She sits on the stool across from where I'm working. "Do you need help?"
Harry looks at her. "You're not going to stand up, Harley."
I push the chopping board towards her and the utensils. "She wasn't going to stand. You do know she's pregnant. Not a cripple."
He rolls his eyes. "I know, that. She complains about having a sore back at times."
"Well, that's what happens when you carry a baby that's a size of a basketball to full term." I point at him and Jai. "If you're not helping with the food you can get out of my kitchen."
Paige reaches over to me and I take her from Jai. "Do you want to watch Mommy and Harley cook?" She nods.
I place her in the high chair and put some toys on there for her.
The doorbell rings again. "I've got it," Jai yells.
A couple of minutes later, Leila walks into the kitchen with a platter. She places it on the table. "I made some sausages rolls and pies from scratch. There's also dip and Doritos too."

"Thanks, Leila."
She looks at me. "You should get ready. People will be arriving soon. Harley and I can finish the rest."
I look behind her. "Where's Logan and Lara?"
"They're with Ace. He never lets those kids out of his sight for a second. It's starting to scare me."
I shake my head. "Jai used to be like that. I told him that he needed to go to the bar and work. He fought me tooth and nail not leaving Paige and me, but I won at the end and he went to work. Do you know how long he lasted at the bar until he came back home?"
"Ten minutes?"
I shake my head. "Jai was gone for two hours. He had a lot of paperwork to do at the bar. When he got home he was was glad that I pushed him to leave. You should do the same with Ace."
"I think I will." She pushes me towards the stairs. "Get ready."
I crash into someone as I leave the kitchen. I look at the tanned arm holding onto and then I reach the hazel eyes of my man. "Jai," I whisper.
A smile spreads across his face. "Hey, baby." He looks at me. "You should get ready."
"I will once you let me go."
He whispers. "I don't want to let you go." Jai throws me over his shoulder and carries me up the stairs. In the bedroom he places me on the bed and goes through the cupboard, looking at my clothes. "No," he moves a dress and continues that until he reaches the dress he brought me for Valentines Day.
It's a black sundress that reaches the floor and it has slits up to the knee. The dress fits nicely and shows off my best assets, according to Jai.

The truth is he wants something that he can slip off me quickly before we go to bed.

The celebrant walks into the backyard and introduces herself to everyone as Jai, Teresa, Leila, Ace, Nate and I stand to the side. "Hello, everyone. My name is Gwen and I'm a celebrant. Today we are here for the naming day of Paige Aleysa Marshall."
Tears begin to fall as I hear my sisters name.
Jai pulls me into his side and hugs me. He kisses the top of my head. "Aleysa loved and admired you, Chloe she'd be proud that you named your daughter after her. I miss her too. She was a remarkable kid."
Yes, she was.
If it wasn't for Aleysa I wouldn't have met Jai and I can't imagine my life without him or my beautiful daughter in it.
A song plays and I walk over to the celebrant with my daughter in my arms. I look at Paige and her eyes are closed. I kiss the top of her head. "Mommy, loves you, Paige."
When the song is over Gwen reads from the piece of paper she's holding in her hand. Halfway through the reading, my arms get sore and I turn towards Jai. "Can you hold her?"
Jai takes Paige from me. He kisses her head. "I love you, Paige." He wraps his free arm around my waist.
Gwen introduces Nate, Teresa, Leila and Ace as Godparents to our daughter and they repeat words after Gwen as they promise to take care of our daughter in case something happens to Jai and me.
After the naming ceremony Jai, Teresa, Nate, Leila and Ace all fill out some papers and they are given a naming day certificate that says they are godparents to Paige.
Veronica takes photos of us.
Paige starts crying and I take her from Jai. "Shh, princess. Nan was taking a picture of you." I point to Nan and she smiles.
Veronica puts the camera on the chair and she walks over to me. "Can I hold her?"
"Sure," I place Paige in her Nan's arms.
Paige should be in my parent's arms too.
I run into the house.
I don't want people to see me cry.
As I'm heading to my bedroom the doorbell rings.
Who would show up at this time?
I walk over to the door and look through the peephole. I see my brother standing on the other side with my cousin. Opening the door I look at them. "What are you doing here?"
Carter grabs my arm and pulls me toward the door. "We can't tell you here. It's not safe. Please, trust us." He doesn't let go of me until we're in the car. "We're going for a drive. Don't make a sound or I'll have to hurt you and I don't want to do that to you."
"Drex, what's going on?"
He places his index finger to his mouth telling me to be quiet.
Carter pulls away from the house. He drives until he reaches the National Park. He parks the car. "Were walking from here. I'll answer your questions once we're away from the car."
I climb out of the car and follow them to the trail. "What's going on?" I stop at the beginning of the trail.
I'm not going to take one more step until they tell me what's going on?
Drex steps forward. "We found Mom and Dad's killer."

[COMPLETE] Soz this may be cringe, it was written very long ago A seemingly ordinary, working college girl meets a cool, undeniably sexy boy with millions of followers at his feet. How will their completely different lives allow, or prevent them from getting what they want? Expect some drama, flirty lines, steamy scenes, funny best friends, and perhaps, an overall epic love connection. ~Carter came around the corner as his eyes darkened with a predatory gaze. Oh no. He took a step forward, minimalizing the distance with every dominating stride, as I froze in my spot. My breath hitched as his arms finally encircled my waist and his eyes locked with mine. In one swift motion, he flipped my body so my back was pressed against his chest and hands gripped the curve of my hips. "What game are you trying to play at Valerie?" he spoke in a husky voice. Goosebumps danced along my skin as his hot breath fanned against the shell of my ear and his fingertips lit a trail of blazing heat along the length of my arm. Mentally shaking myself from the trance of that which is Carter Bryson, I tilted my head towards him and whispered; "One where you'll lose." Quickly escaping his hold on me before the tension became unbearable, I spun on my heel to face him and slowly backed away towards the exit. "Good luck though." I added mischievously. With a smirk and a devilish glint in his eyes that could even give hell a run for its money, he replied; "I'm not a player though, baby. I'm the gamemaker."~❗️Mature content.
