It's been a week since I brought Paige home from the hospital. She's still small and it takes a lot out of her to eat. So, I have learnt to be patient with my daughter.

Veronica sits across from me as I breastfeed. She opens the magazine and begins reading it until I need her help.

Jai walks into the living room and he looks at her. "Mom, it's been great having you here, but it's time for you to go. Chloe and I will try to keep to the schedule you gave us."

Veronica rises and moves over to her son. "I'll be leaving in the morning, Jai. I called for a driver this morning." She kisses Paige's head. "I knew you two were ready to do this yourself. I was waiting for someone to tell me that I could go home. I have been missing Ricky since I've been here."

"Dad could have stayed here too."

She shakes her head. "You're Dad's got a new job and he was needed back there." She walks up the stairs and a few seconds later a door to the bedroom closes.

Jai sits next to me. "Do you think I was harsh on her?"

I shake my head. "No, like she told you she was waiting for us to tell her that she's done her job and that it's time for us to be parents to Paige without another person interfering without a daughter." I look at my daughter as she pulls away from my breast and she's asleep in my arms.

I'll have to stay up a little longer.

"Leila and Ace are coming around tomorrow. They want to ask us something."

I look at him. "What do you think it is?"

"Maybe, they want us to be apart of their wedding." Jai wraps his arms around me and I nestle against him.

"I hope they can make it further than we can." I look at my daughter in my arms.

Jai looks at her as well. "I can't wait for her to walk. The second she does. Where picking a date and I'm marrying you. This time there will be nothing standing in our way."

A smile spreads across my face. "I'm looking forward to that." I rise and take our daughter to her room.

Jai follows me to the bedroom and per usual he takes her from me and places her in the cot. He kisses her cheek. "Goodnight, beautiful girl. I will see you later," he wraps his arms around me and we walk out of the room.

The next morning I'm woken to my daughter crying in the room next to ours. I feel the shift as Jai climbs out of bed. "I'll get her. You should sleep a bit longer." The door to the room opens and closes.

Paige stops crying.

I turn towards the clock on the nightstand I see that it's 8:39 am. Paige let us sleep a bit longer this morning. Which is a first. Most mornings we have been woken at five. So, today was a change.

Veronica is leaving today. I should get up and make some breakfast.

Throwing the blankets off I climb out bed and walk into the bathroom. I brush my hair and wash my face before I walk down to the stairs and start on breakfast.

The front door opens and closes. I look up from the pancake batter and see Leila and Ace standing there."

Ace looks at the mix. "Do you have enough for me?"

Leila hits his arm. "Don't be rude. We didn't come here for her cooking." Behind her back, Ace is nodding his head. "I can see what your doing, Ace."

"How?"

"I have eyes at the back of the head. You're nodding your head at Chloe when I told her that we didn't come over for her food. And now you're making a yapping motion with your hand."

Ace puts his hand behind his back. "I'm not doing anything, sweetheart."

She slaps the back of his head. "Don't lie to me," her stomach begins to rumble. She looks away embarrassed.

"Food will be ready soon, Leila." I look at her reddened face and all she does is nods at me.

"Did you have any food cravings, Chloe?"

A smile spreads across my face. "Yeah, it was for Nate's girlfriend's waffles. She knows how to make them perfectly. She taught Jai how to make them for when she's not around.

She crosses her arms. "I think I will come here more often for breakfast. All we have at Ace's place is bacon and eggs, cereal and toast. He won't hire someone to come and cook for us. I would love to cook some meals, but my back starts to ache after a little while of standing up." Leila starts shifting in her seat. "I'm over being pregnant."

I felt the same way a couple of days before I had Paige.

Ace rubs her back. "You still have two months left, babe.'

She begins to moan.

I hear someone walk down the stairs and I look at the door.

Jai stops at the door. "Did I just walk into a porno?"

Leila's face turns red and she buries her face in Ace's arms.

Jai's having fun picking on his friends.

I put the first batch of pancake mix into the frying pan. I flip them over two minutes later. Once they're finished I put them on a plate and place them on the table.

Leila grabs a pancake and she puts jelly on it. She starts eating.

Ace laughs at her.

Leila slaps his arm again. "Shut up," she looks away from everyone as her face reddens again.

By the time breakfast is over she could be as red as a fire hydrant.

Jai and Ace start laughing.

I frown. "What funny?"

Jai wraps his arms around me. "You said that out loud."

I slap my forehead. "Idiot," I mutter.

Leila starts laughing. "I'm glad that I'm not the only one that says what I'm thinking." She rises and looks at Jai. "Could you show me to the bathroom?"

"Sure," Jai kisses me on the lips in front of our friends. "I will be right back." He shows Leila to the bathroom.

Ace leans against the counter. "Now, that she's gone I was wondering if you would like to be the Godmother of our son?"

I squeal. Then I say in a calmer voice. "I would love to."

Jai runs into the kitchen and he looks at me. "What happened?"

I turn towards Ace and he nods. "Ace and Leila would like for me to be their sons Godmother."

Jai smiles. "Leila asked me the same thing. I can't believe that I'm going to be a godfather."

I'm happy that Leila and Ace are deciding on who their son's godparents are going to be. I know exactly who I want to be the godparents of my daughter. I just need to talk to Jai about it.

Jai whispers. "Who do you want to be our daughter's Godparents?"

I look at our friends in the kitchen.

Jai clears his throat. "We want you to be Paige's Godparents."

"I would love to," Leila says. "The reason we came by beside wanted to tell you that we want you to be godparents to our, children, but we would love it if you were the Maid of Honour and Best Man."
