《His Proposal》His Proposal - 69

Nate walks into the house with his friends and they walk into the kitchen where I'm sitting with Veronica, Ricky and Jai. He looks at me. "Hey, Chloe." He looks at the other people at the table and a smile spreads across his face as he sees Jai's parents. He hugs them. "It's good to see you both out of the hospital." He looks at us. "Are you all coming to the game tonight?"
Charlotte, Gerald and Xander walk into the kitchen and they look at my brother.
One of the guys says. "Damn, Nate. You have heaps of people to support you tonight."
Gerald puts his arm around Nate. "I wouldn't miss his game for the world." He looks at Jai. "I just might move to Los Angeles. I need to get my life together, just like you. I can't keep living the bachelor life." He looks at me. "Can I stay with you until I find a place?"
Jai shrugs and then he mouths. "It's up to you."
Nate crosses his arms. "Can he please stay?"
Aleysa walks into the kitchen at that moment and she says. "Who wants to stay?"
"Gerald,"
A smile spreads across her face. "I want him to stay." She walks over to me.
"You get to stay with us, Gerald. Please, do me a favour?"
He looks at me. "Anything for my soon to be sister in law."
"No one night stands. We don't want to hear you at all kinds of hours in the night."
Nate looks at me. "What about Jai and you? You keep me up at all hours, with your giggling and moaning."
Glaring at my brother, I feel my face starts to heat up with his revelation.

Jai pulls me onto him. "You're cute when you blush."
Hitting Jai's arm. "Shush," I turn towards my brother. "It not my fault that we're not at the mansion at the moment." I turn towards Jai. "When are we going back to the mansion?"
He scratches the back of his head. "I don't want to go back to the house after what happened." He looks at me. "I want to buy a house with you. One that we can grow old in and watch our children grow in as well."
"I like the sound of that."
Later that night I am sitting in the grandstand of my old high school with Jai and his family.
Charlotte is sitting next to me and looks at the field as the cheerleaders come out. A smile spreads across her face. "I remember the days I used to sit on the sideline and cheer for the football team in high school."
Turning towards her I say. "I spent most of my time with my head in the books. I went to one football game and I was completely bored watching."
"What changed?"
"I had to go to the games and support my boyfriend who was the quarterback. He sat with me one day and told me all about the plays. I thought it was incredible how he described the plays and what was about to happen as we watched a live game on tv."
"What happened to the guy?"
"He got recruited in his first year at university and he told me that he couldn't miss the opportunity of a lifetime. We were together for three months. He forgot about his university friends and got involved with drugs. I heard recently that he was caught with cocaine at the airport."

She laughs. "Everyone's heard of him then. What was his name?" She clicks her fingers. "Freddy Jones,"
Jai looks at me. "You dated that guy?"
Turning towards him. "Yes, I met him at a university party. I spent the night drinking, laughing and sleeping with him."
Jai balls his hands into fists. "You had sex with him?"
Shaking my head. "No! I'm not that kind of girl. I would never jump into someone's bed without thinking about the consequences."
"You never thought about it when it came to me."
"We didn't share a bed until I moved in with you."
Gerald leans forward. "Shhh, the games about to start."
Looking at the field I see Nate run onto the field.
A woman walks down the row I'm sitting on and I see that it's my Aunt. She takes a seat next to Charlotte. She leans forward and says. "I couldn't miss my nephews game." She looks around. "Where's Aleysa?"
Aleysa is sitting next to Veronica and they are talking.
Ricky holds his hand out to her and she takes it.
I hear cheering coming from the opposition. I look at Jai. "What did I miss?"
"The other team scored a try."
"Shit,"
A few people glance at me.
Turning my attention back to the field. I see Nate take a bottle of water and drink from it.
He squirts it in his mouth and he pours some onto his face. He gives the bottle back to the water boy.
"Chloe, I need to go to the bathroom. Can you come with me?" Aleysa says.
"Sure," I look at Charlotte. "Do you want to come with us?"
"Yes, I wouldn't know where to go if I waited until later."
"There will be a huge queue for the bathroom and I wouldn't want to miss out on the second half because I stuck in a huge line."
A group of girls are standing at the sinks. One of them throws her blonde hair over her shoulder and she says. "Do you think Nate will go out with me?"
On our way back to the grandstand Aleysa looks at me. "Can we get something to eat? I'm hungry."
"What do you want?"
"Hotdog and a bottle of water please."
Walking over to the concession stand I order ten hotdogs, five bottles of water and five cokes. I carry the food to the seats, while Aleysa and Charlotte carry the drinks. At our seats, I hand out the hotdogs and I see my cousin with his daughter sitting next to my Aunt and they're talking.
Jai takes a coke from Charlotte. "Thanks, sis."
She looks at me. "Chloe is the one that brought the food."
"Thanks, baby."
Sitting next to him I offer him more ketchup and he shakes his head. There's enough sauce on this.
He takes a bite of his hotdog and some sauce is on his chin. I swipe my thumb across his chin. I bring up my sauce-covered finger and lick it.
Jai smiles. "Thanks, I might have to leave food on my face from now on if you're going to clean it up." He winks at me and I feel my face heats up.
Placing my head in the crook of his neck. He touches my face. "You don't need to hide from me."
Seeing a flash from the corner of my eye I look around and see Veronica with her camera. She has a smile on her face. "I want some sort of proof that my son is happy and in love."
She's definitely acting like a Mom. I think mine would do the exact same thing as her.
