" Hey, Haven ? Are you ready?" Alena called out walking towards Haven's room. She had just finished seeing her mate off, he claimed he was already late and had to go meet up with the Alpha. A beautiful smile plastered itself on Alena's face as she saw Haven already coming out of the room.

" Oh Selene, you're just looking so beautiful tonight, really" She grinned clasping Haven's hands.

" Everyone at the ball's going to be wowed I tell you. It's just too bad I'm not allowed to come." She said pouting her lips.

' It's good you can't come Alena. At least I won't have someone keeping an eye on me all the time' Haven said silently. As she looked at the woman before her, Haven could feel a little emotion bubbling up from within her.

Alena was the only one who stood by her since she came here. She saved her from that ruthless Alpha's grasp, she brought her to a nice home, she fed her, gave her clothes... and everything else Haven needed. Since her parents death, no one had done anyone of these for her. No one cared about how she was doing, whether she's eaten or how she was coping. But this stranger whom she's never known showered her with so much love in just these few days.

Haven could feel a lump forming in her throat as she looked at Alena.

" Haven? What's wrong?" Alena asked seeing Haven's sudden change of expression " Are you okay??" She asked worriedly. Haven didn't even reply as the next moment, she pulled Alena into a hug.

'Thank you, thank you so much for everything Alena. I'll never forget what you did for me'

She really wished Alena coukd hear her right now. But it was okay, she had left her a note in the room already. She just hoped she saw it.

" Oh...Haven" Alena giggled seeing Haven's sudden display of attention. The girl was so cold that even her smiles looked as if they were being forced. She was happy to see Haven finally be true to herself. She hugged Haven back.

The two stood there for quite sometime before Alena spoke " It's pretty late Haven, you should get going " She tapped Haven's back. Haven slowly let Alena go as she gave her a genuine smile.

" Shall we go?" Alena asked and Haven nodded. The two walked till they reach the floor's elevator. Alena stopped outside the elevator as she watched Haven walk in.

" It's on the 20 floor, I pray you find all your happiness tonight" Alena said as she giggled.

Haven rolled her eye dramatically as she heard her.

' Always talking nonsense' She said in her head as she pressed the button for the 20th floor.

" Bye Haven!!" Alena grinned waving at the girl who was pressed something before the elevator door started closing. Haven smiled as she waved back at Alena.

' Goodbye Alena. '

Every shifters eyes were locked on the god–like man who was walking grimly through the crowd. This was some of the shifters first time of seeing this domineering Supreme Alpha. All they had heard about his good looks did not even come close to how handsome he really looked in real life.

Lucious was wearing a mask, just like everyone else at the party, but one could very well tell that the man behind the black mask was extremely good looking. Even from a distance, they could feel the dangerous aura surrounding this man. Some of them could already feel the chills running down their spines as he passed by them. The black tuxedo on his body Lucious had his black silky hair packed at the back of his head making him look even more handsome.

" Oh my Selene, the Alpha is sooo handsome " A young girl standing by the side whispered.

" Can you see how his abs are visible even through the suit?" Another lady said.

" Oh my, I wish the alpha was my mate " A girl whined.

" Hey do you have any idea who that man is?!" One half– yelled , half– whispered.

" They say he really is so cruel. You all know how vicious the Alpha is said to be" The first girl chided.

" I don't believe that, just look at him. He looks so harmless and handsome." The other girl giggled softly.

" She's telling the truth, I once heard his beta had some were–man's hand chopped off because he had mistakenly touched his mate. And it is said that the Supreme Beta is much more compassionate than the Supreme Alpha himself." One whispered righteously.

" Yes it's true, my brother is a Gamma. He's ever met with the Supreme Alpha once. He said you'd pray never to be in the Alpha's presence."

" Oh my, if he's so cruel like that, how is his poor mate coping?" " I hope he's not giving the poor girl a hard time"

" He doesn't even have a mate " " Ah, maybe the Moon Goddess is punishing him for all his crimes"

" Shush! The Supreme Beta is looking here" A girl said with panic. The remaing who had gathered their selves to gossip all look up to see the Beta glaring at them.

How could they forget were wolves had extraordinary hearing abilities?

All the girls scurried away as the Alpha and Beta came closer. Lucious had already heard what some girls were whispering but paid no attention to them. Since he was the Alpha he had to declare the Moon Ball open.

Lucious stepped on the stage, all eyes on him. The Moon Ball's setting was made in such a way that, the entire pack hall was dark, except the lighting from the huge chandelier which hung from the ceiling , occasionally brightening the room with different colors of light.

Lucious' eyes roamed about the huge room filled with hundred of shifters. He could still here small whispers and chatters here and there.

" I welcome you all to the Blood Moon Pack. This night is a start of something new for most of us here tonight. " Lucious started, his deep voiced boomed in the large hall making the entire place suddenly go quiet.

" As we all know, this night is the start of something special for most of here today. I wish every one here all the best."

" I , Alpha Lucious of the Blood Moon Pack, hereby declare this year's Moon Ball officially open!!!" His voice resonated across the silent room causing a huge uproar from the people. Claps and shouts were heard as everyone rejoiced.

" Enjoy the rest of the night" Lucious finally said before turning to go off the stage.
