"What do you mean, Arthit?"
Kong was still drowsy but he got up on the bed, rubbing his eyes with his palms.
Damn. He looks so cute right now. THIS IS NOT THE TIME ARTHIT, FOCUS
"My dad is in the hospital, Arthit. What do you mean?"
"I mean, your dad's accident hasn't happened in my timeline yet. What if we tried to save him?"
"I am not sure if we can change the future, Arthit."
"I didn't think there would be a guy from 2020 in my apartment too, but here we are. I don't know what would happen, but we could try.
"And how are we going to do that?"
"All I have to do is make sure your dad does not drive you to the college dorm, one day before the college semester starts — January 31st.
"If he doesn't go there, he doesn't have an accident, you get to go to college and see your dad everyday. Isn't that a great plan?"
"It is, but there is one problem Arthit — I wouldn't get to meet you because I wouldn't be in this apartment."
"Kong, we'll meet at the college!"
"What if..if I hate you or you hate me, or we just never ever get along with each other? What if.. while trying to change the future we mess up with something else and things get even more worse?"
"But we have to try Kong"
I am going to get ready and leave for the hospital. Lets talk about it in the evening.
I called Aim as soon as I left the house
"Aim, when you were in the Bangkok University? Did you know someone called Arthit? I think he was a head hazer, two years ahead of you.

"Arthit Rojnapat? Yes, I knew him. He was a very strict hazer but a good guy."
Rojnapat? Where have I heard that name before?
"Strict, huh? I guess Arthit really did it after all"
"Did you know Arthit, too? He left college after his third year though. I heard he transferred to some other college"
"We were acquaintances. Aim, can you find out where he is now? It would be great if you could find his contact details."
"I haven't seen him in years. I'll ask my old college friends to get some details"
"Okay. Call me as soon as you hear anything. Bye"
I went to the shoot and tried to focus on work, but all I could think about was Arthit. Its not like I didn't want to change the past. Of course, I wanted to save dad. But I don't think we could change the past.
I had struggled a lot, been through a lot of tough times, but me and my family were finally starting to get a bit normal. And then I met Arthit.
I don't know how long I can keep meeting him through the apartment. I want to meet Arthit in my timeline to see if he remembers me and may be finally take him out on that date.
Just as I was done with my shoot, Aim called me back.
"Kong, I just talked to my senior, Prem. He was a close friend of Arthit in college. And honestly, I am sorry for telling you this over the phone."
"What are you trying to say Aim?"
" He was depressed after his mother's death and he committed suicide last year in July. Apparently, his mom died on the same day he became the head hazer, but because he wasnt on good terms with his family, nobody told him for a year.

Are you there?"
"Aim, can please find out where he is buried and text me the address"
"Yes. I will. But Kong, are you okay?"
"I dont know. Bye."
I bought roses for Arthit and drove to the graveyard, hoping that Aim was wrong. Hoping to take those roses to the Arthit who was waiting for me at home.
I walked through the aisles and finally found Arthit's grave.
"Arthit Rojnapat. Died 15th July, 2019.
A loving son and his mother's favourite"
It felt like someone sucked all the air around me. It was like a nightmare that I just couldn't wake up from.
Why did you do this Arthit? Why were you so heart broken? Why didn't I meet you sooner?
I sat there at his grave for an hour, before finally making my way home.
As soon I opened the door to the house, I saw Arthit, sitting on the sofa in his usual home clothes.
"Kong, you are back." He smiled at me and got up. "Listen, I am sorry if I said too much in the morning, its your life and --"
"Arthit..."
I moved across the room and kissed him with every breathe that I had. I kissed him like it might be the last time.
I pulled his lower lip and pushed my tongue inside. Arthit tried breaking away but I wouldn't let him go. My hand moved to his nape to move him closer and another one went inside his tshirt to feel him even more. My tongue was exploring his mouth and feeling him to the core.
After feeling content that my Arthit was alive and truly in front of me, I let him pull away.
Arthit was out of breath and flustered. "What-what was that?"
I am going to change the future for whatever it takes
