《Void》First to Fall

Okay, I've been horribly lazy with attempting to write a continuation of this whole thing. Not because of the complexity of the story, but with my job practically draining my strength while my personal life is being challenged.

One of my dogs recently had a health challenge which means I have to keep an eye on her, even in the mornings when she has to go outside at an ungodly time. Poor girl's lifestyle has really changed quite a bit, and she is stubborn when it comes to eating her specialized food. I swear she's like a cat in a dog's body. She only eats when she wants to eat, and I have to keep a close eye on her.

There are other things going on, and I have a feeling that my summer plans might be called into question with my job. Long story short, I lost my job near the end of the summer last year. I had managed to finish college in the process, but that actually hurt my writing muse greatly.

Honestly, I lost my motivation to do anything, even writing was far from my mind largely due to trying to figure out: now what? Thankfully, things are better now, I have a job that pays well, and while it is not full-time yet, I am hopeful that it will be eventually.

Well, it's time I provide another lovely chapter following a few characters other than our lovely pair of troublemakers, yeah?

As for the manga vs. the anime content, yes. You will definitely see some of that here and there as the perspective changes every once in awhile.

Frieza found himself rather intrigued with Frost. Perhaps too intrigued with the alien that seemed to be almost a doppelganger of himself, only somewhat younger and less experienced. He assumed that since they were the same species, he might be willing to help him weed out the competition quite a bit.

It seemed that the former despot had to play his cards carefully using the fighter from Universe 6 as a means to an end.

"Hm... you seem to be like me and would like to ensure total control of the universe, am I right?" Frieza asked the Universe 6 counterpart. His tail twitched slightly, as though silently judging the younger conqueror with interest.

"Indeed, you know me all too well," Frost smirked, appreciating the praise from the dead warrior. It puffed his pride that the former despot truly knew where he stood within his own universe, especially when it comes to being in a role with power and control. "I feel that we will get along even if you are older than I am."

"We will get along fine as you say," Frieza agreed with a chuckle. He truly appreciated being senior to Frost. It almost made him feel as though he had a younger brother to mentor about the ways the universe should be controlled by an iron fist.

It is a shame that betrayal is one thing that Frieza would have to teach those who doubted how ruthless he can be against anyone he considers a foe. Even the Gods of Destruction would learn of his ruthlessness soon enough since he was not as merciful as those who resided on Earth by any means.

"Let's team up and ensure that we win this thing," Frieza offered, extending a hand almost with a devilish grin on his face. Surprisingly, Frost took it and they had a firm handshake, sealing what would be a forbidden contract with one another.

"Sounds like a deal." Frost smirked, laughing. Frieza chuckled, humored by how far his 'counterpart' would go in order to obtain what he needed to win.

Krillin had every intention of following what Shin, the Supreme Kai of their universe, had brought up prior to the start of the tournament. There is strength in numbers, right? Plus, if all of them stayed in the same place during the battle, then their chances of winning the Tournament of Power would only increase.

He stood with his back facing the others in the circle, ensuring that they stay within the designated area the minute the tournament began. Going off alone would be incredibly insane and leave one exposed. That would result in one of them getting knocked off that much sooner. It was enough that none of them could fly at all, with the exception of those in the other universes that could do such a feat using the wings they were given. Was this rule really necessary to enforce?

Even though Master Roshi was perfectly fine with this rule, the other seasoned fighters who had grown accustomed to not being able to seemed to feel that they were suddenly at a disadvantage. Tien seemed pleased by how the eldest fighter seemed unworried, but it was after Krillin brought this up to the former Crane student that the smile fell from his face.

Regardless, the idea of getting knocked off the stage was growing more and more likely unless they manage to take those capable of natural flight get knocked off first. That way, their chances of staying in the ring longer would be better secured.

"BEGIN!" The Grand Priest yelled, calling for all of the fighters to begin their battle.

To Krillin's horror, the plans that the Supreme Kai had spoken of quickly fell apart due to Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, his own wife, and Android 17 flew off in separate directions. The strongest fighters on the roster were engaging in their own battles, leaving Gohan, Tien, Piccolo, and Master Roshi the only calm and collected heads gathered.

'Seriously, why do we even bother coming up with a battle plan?' Krillin thought illy as he watched the fighting unfold all around him. Universes were pitted against one another as each fighter tried to best each other.

"Stick close together," Gohan warns the others. A few fighters from various universes rushed them right away, clearly wanting to eliminate them due to being associated with this mess they were in. Had it not been for Goku, they would not all be forced to fight for their existence that was suddenly on the line.

'At least Gohan's still here,' Krillin noted. Unlike the battle hungry father who rushed off with the others, it seemed that the half-breed Saiya-jin had a more level head when it came to combat.

Seeing Goku staring at Jiren from Universe 11, Nink from Universe 4 decided to go after the one responsible for this madness. After all, it was his fault that this whole tournament in the middle of the void became the center stage of this wild free-for-all tournament. It was already a matter of life and death for those who were pitted against the other universes that were not exempt from the Grand Priest's measurement system. Grabbing the Saiya-jin by the neck with his arm from behind, he pulled him into his chest. A guttural laughter escaped his throat at how the fool had let his guard down so easily.

Especially when all of the other universes had a vendetta against the naive simpleton for elevating their survival to this level of insanity. Even after retching his left arm free, the blows to the face did little to jar Nink from the bearhug that he gave Goku from behind. He only laughed as his face was slightly bruised from the repeated strikes.

"You think those blows are going to stop me? The more you fight me, the stronger I become!" He grins as he tightens his grip on Goku, causing him to scream out in agony.

"Hey wait, are you crazy?" Goku felt himself being carried backwards, knowing what the fighter's intentions were immediately. "You're going to fall off too you know!"

"It's fine... as long as we go together..." Nink laughed, continuing his backwards trek closer and closer to the edge. "Next stop, the end of the line for you!"

'This one's a coward,' Vegito's voice seemed to criticize the fusee's attempts to break free. Goku struggles to breathe and is contemplating on getting away before things get worse. 'Don't let this bastard take you with him! Transform or something damn it!'

"You can go there... all by yourself!" Goku roared angrily as he transformed into a Super Saiya-jin Blue, freeing himself from the reversal and forcing the insane and suicidal fighter off of his back in an instant.

Nink, who had already been teetering on the edge, fell from the stage. He was mortified that the Saiya-jin had managed to get a handhold onto the edge at the very last minute with all of his strength. It was the last time he saw the stage from the competitor's side before the world distorted around him, shifting as he vanished.

In mere moments, the fighter from Universe 4 felt himself fall in a seated position on the bench, looking out at the tournament. Now, he was a spectator, watching the others fight without a care in the world, joining their efforts in trying to knock others from their respective universes off the platform, and have them join the stands where the other fighters gathered after getting knocked off.

"That didn't go the way I saw it going." Nink mumbled before he felt the yellow mouse destroyer's foot colliding into the side of his face.

"You think?!" Quatila snarled angrily as he continued to kick the side of the fighter's head. "What you did was cost our team a man you clod!"

It was not as though it was entirely a bad thing though, considering that there were still nine more fighters still down there. Still, Nink did not bring this point up as he tolerated the rodent's harsh criticism and scathing blows. It could have been a lot worse, he assumed as he ignored the God of Destruction and watched the rest of the warriors fight.

Vegeta felt himself being pushed back against Hopp and Lavender as they ruthlessly tried to break through his defenses. The Saiya-jin prince was not pleased in the slightest that Universe 9 decided to target them suddenly. It was worsened when he felt icicles strike his right arm, freezing it in mere seconds from another teammate from Universe 9.

"Good job Hyssop!" Hopp grins. "Taking him down will be easy now!"

"Oh no! He's surrounded!" Shin realized in dismay. Vegeta glared at Hopp and Lavender as they lunged at him from both sides.

'Don't tell me that's all the Prince of all Saiya-jins is capable of doing,' Vegito's voice teased in Vegeta's head. Great. It seemed that the fusion decided to tease him of the predicament he was in with one of his arms frozen in ice.

'I don't have time for this,' Vegeta thought back at the voice as he quickly dodged, forcing Hopp to scratch Lavender in the chest much to her dismay.

"Oh no!" Hopp realized in absolute horror that her long, pink-like claws slashed against her own teammate's body. The cries of dismay were heard from their teammates nearby as they witnessed Lavender stagger backwards from the sudden and unexpected blow.

"Now it's time for a counterattack," Goku declared as he transformed into a Super Saiya-jin, deciding to show their might against the warriors from Universe 9 that were trying to take him out ever since this whole chaotic affair started. Lunging at the two fighters, he fired a blast, effectively yeeting them off the stage before they could recover from the shock. Two more were taken out during this madness by a couple of the others in Universe 7, but neither one were aware of this, more focused on what was going on in front of them.

Vegeta meanwhile knocked off the cat-like human into the air with a couple blows before hammer dropping her off the edge of the stage, taking a part of it with her falling body. What the prince was not prepared for was a sneak attack as a web-like substance wrapped around his left arm. It was annoying. First, his right arm was frozen, and now, there was a silky string-like goo ensnaring the other one.

"Did you truly think this would hold back the great Prince Vegeta?!" the prince roared angrily, shattering both web and ice from his arms as he transformed into a Super Saiya-jin in pure rage towards the ones trying to hinder his plans. He was done, tired of this nonsense of Universe 9 trying to knock them off the stage at the start of this tournament. If they want to be all knocked off the stage that bad, then he would oblige in aiding in their downfall.

Quickly, two more of them fell off the stage, and the prince could care less how many of them were left at this point. It was then he was nearly ambushed by one of the three wolf brothers that were the only Universe 9 warriors left by this point. The one that nearly took Kakarrot out earlier was panicking, hoping that their comrades in arms would be able to at least take one of the Saiya-jins down before things went to pot.

Nearby, Kakarrot had fired a blast at the blue-furred wolf at point-blank from behind while the Saiya-jin feinted off the red-furred wolf's attacks. Vegeta knocked the poison-user back with a single flare of his aura, forcing all three brothers towards the edge of the stage. It was apparent that they had to find a way out of their predicament or risk losing altogether. Knowing that the odds were against them, they did not hesitate in the slightest.

"Let's do this brothers!" the blue-furred wolf called out. It was all for nothing now. They had to resort to this tactic if they wanted to try and stop them. Auras flared around them as they prepared for their final gambit.

the three wolves chanted, their combined blast flying at Goku and Vegeta.

Vegeta roared as he transformed into a Super Saiya-jin Blue, pressing his wrists together as the familiar yellow glow of the attack began to build in front of the palms of his hands.

Kakarrot followed the prince's tactics and also transformed into the godly state as he chanted the name of his quickly.

both Saiya-jins roared as the blast seemed to merge together, melding into the signature attack that Vegito had utilized to give Zamasu a taste of his true power.

The Danger Trio did not stand a chance of the onslaught of this beam struggle, the combined Final Flash and Kamehameha easily decimating their chances of getting out of this situation without any consequences. The others watched with awe as the energy blast barreled towards them, sending them off the stage and into the stands like the others.

'Nice...' Vegito's voice was heard suddenly as Kakarrot and Vegeta heard this at the same time for an odd reason. They looked at one another in confusion.

"Did you just say something just now?" Kakarrot asked the prince.

"I didn't clown, what the hell's going on?" Vegeta frowned.

"Maybe it was Vegito again," Kakarrot's comment made Vegeta's hand go towards his pocket where the earring was stashed. He was tempted to break it, but he noticed that now was not the time to let down his guard with the others staring at them. He pulled his hand away, deciding to leave it alone for the time being.

"Just remember, we don't use these since it is against the rules," Vegeta reminded the lower-class Saiya-jin. It was then that they realized that something was going on as everything seemed to grow quiet around them with little warning.

Universe 9. All of their fighters were wiped off the stage in less than five minutes. What now?

"Everyone from Universe 9 has fallen off the stage," the Grand Priest spoke with closed eyes, as though he was showing his respect towards them. His expression darkened as he glared coldly at the warriors who lost the contest swiftly, almost like a parent would a spoiled brat. "Therefore, that universe will be erased!"

"NO! PLEASE SPARE US!" Universe 9's God of Destruction pleaded, but such a plea was ignored as they all just watched in mute horror of what was to come.

The fighters who were still on the stage had stopped fighting their eyes drawn towards the bleachers where Universe 9 sat on the verge of destruction. The two Omni Kings held up their hands before they clenched into fists. In a matter of moments, the fighters, the Destroyer, and their universe's Supreme Kai were wiped away. The only sign that there was once a Universe 9 was the angel that had been spared of its destruction as he sighed in dismay.

"They... they were erased just like that?" Beerus realized what was at stake and what the Omni Kings had done.

"That's correct Lord Beerus," Whis confirmed as he looked into the staff. "Everything that was in Universe 9 was destroyed in an instant. Not even the small microorganisms are there anymore."

A feeling of dread fell upon everyone who witnessed the selfless Omni Kings just destroyed a universe as if it was all just a game to them. It was then that as Vegeta powered down, he realized in absolute horror the stakes that were at play and the consequences of what was going to happen to them if they lost this tournament.

And it still was all Kakarot's fault that he had to poke his nose into something in order to have a great fight with multiple universes.
