《Zero Falls: Season One》Cipher's Reign-Final

They were driving up a mountain road.
Unsurprisingly, it was an extremely bumpy ride. Will and Bill hung onto their seats for dear life, as the vehicle sped upwards. Meanwhile, their pursuers were surging closer.
Will shrieked, when there was a thud on the roof, and then an axe broke through. Wendy peeled off a piece of the roof, and was about to climb in, until Soos made a sharp swerve. Immediately, Wendy was flung off the bus. At first, Will was afraid she was hurt, but then the redhead stood up like nothing happened, and continued chasing after them with the rest of the mindcontrolled Guardians.
Despite the situation, Soos was doing pretty well at dodging each attack. Like swerving to the side, every time Stan would launch a fireball at them. Though, it didn't stop the blaze of heat that sneered through the metal. Will and Bill were force to move away, before their flesh was nearly scorched.
The twins fell to the floor of the bus during another sharp turn, and Soos turned to them worryingly. Unfortunately, as soon as the driver turned away from the road, Bill noticed something in the front window.
"Soos, cliff!" He yelled.
Soos turned just in time, and stomped on the breaks. The bus screeched to a halt, the front wheels of the bus dangling from the edge. The three inside stared, as the vehicle tilted dangerously, the sound of multiple footsteps approaching them. Quickly, Soos took out a manual from the compartment, and started flipping through it.
"OK, what's the closest to our current situation?" He asked. "Raccoon in engine? Or crazy grandparent who won't leave bus? I'm kinda feeling like it's the second one..."
Bill didn't respond, because he was busy grabbing his brother's arm, and leaving the bus. The two stepped out of the vehicle, only to be faced by the mindcontrolled Guardians, who were only a short distance away and closing in. Bill turned and saw a train track connected to the cliff, and immediately ran towards it, while dragging Will along.
The two sprinted across the track, just when they heard the footsteps behind them. They paused, and turned around, to see their pursuers following them on the train track, with Jill in the lead. The Cipher twins turned to escape, but then realized they reached a dead end.
"It's no use!" Jill hissed. "Now, where is Journal #1?"
"Journal #1?" Bill repeated, in confusion. "What are you talking about?"
Jill growled under her breath, then turned to Stan. She nodded towards him, and it must have been an indication for something, because the Day Guardian then moved forward. The Cipher brothers stared, when the old man lit his hand on fire and aimed at the two of them.
"Give up the journal, or else," She warned.
"Don't you need me for your master plan, what use am I to you if I'm a pile of ashes?" Bill remarked.
Jill chuckled. "Dearest brother, you think Kill hadn't told me that you regained your powers? One of your perks, is that you're immune to fire. You'll still be hurt by it, of course, but it won't destroy you. Will however..."
Bill was about to step in front of Will protectively, but was interrupted, when Will stepped forward. There was a glint of determination in the boy's eyes.
"Do it," Will told Jill.
Bill's eyes widened. "What are you doing!?"
Will ignored him, and glared straight at Jill. "Go ahead, and kill me. If you do, you'll be ruining your chances of ever finding the journal."

What is he talking about?, Bill thought.
Jill glared back at him. "What do you mean?"
"I'm the only one who knows where Journal #1 is," Will told her. "If you release the others, I'll show you to it."
Jill laughed cruelly. "Nice try, but I'm not idiotic like Kill. How do I know you're telling the truth?"
"A couple nights ago, I met up with Gideon," Will explained. "He told me where Journal #1 is, but said I should keep it a secret."
"Gideon?" She sneered, golden eyes burning with anger. "So, you must be the one who convinced him to turn on us?"
Will nodded, and Jill hissed under her breath.
"First, tell me where the journal is. Then, I'll let your friends go."
Bill stared. "Hey, that's not--"
"I have the journal with me," Will said, abruptly. "I have it inside my shirt."
"Then, what are you waiting for? Give it to me," Jill commanded.
"Here is what's going to happen: I'll walk towards you, and give it back," Will said, already slowly approaching her. "Don't try anything."
Jill smirked. "No promises, little brother."
Bill wanted to tell Will to stop, but he felt like he had to step back for this. He watched his brother, almost in a different light, as the blue haired boy stepped closer to the Demon. A few moments later, Will stood directly in front of Jill, with Stan still aiming his flaming hand at him.
"Well?" Jill demanded, impatiently. "Are you going to hand it to me or not?"
Will nodded. He bowed his head downwards, then slowly reached into his shirt. However, instead of pulling something out, he abruptly launched forward and hooked his arm around Jill.
The Demon's eyes widened, when Will dragged her backwards, tightening his arm around her. Stan prepared to throw a ball of fire, but Jill stopped him.
"Don't! You'll burn me too, you fool!" She hissed. Then turned to Will angrily. "What is the meaning of this!?"
"Newsflash: I lied," Will shot back.
Jill glared at him. "Look who's finally acting like a Cipher..."
"I learnt from the best, sister," The blue haired boy remarked, for a blink of a second, his eyes flickered a luminous blue.
Jill's eyes widened. "How in the hell--"
"Don't move."
The Demon looked sideways, where Bill was looming a flaming hand close to her. The blond looked like he was in serious pain, with his forehead beaded with sweat, and his face muscles twitching. However, he still kept his fire at medium size.
"Release the others, now," Bill told her.
Jill hissed, then something abruptly happened. The golden colour disappeared from Gideon's eyes, and they were blank. A moment later, a sphere of golden light came out of the young psychic, resulting in Gideon falling to his knees. The golden light paused in front of the Guardians, and immediately transformed into Jill, now in her own body.
"Attack!" Jill ordered them, pointing towards the three.
Instantly, the mindcontrolled people surged towards them. Bill acted fast, and stepped forward, before swinging his flaming hand in their direction. A column of blue fire spewed out, and made a barrier between them and the Guardians. Silhouettes danced in confusion on the other side, then Stan burst through the flames, and leaped at Bill.
Bill was pinned to the tracks, as the Day Guardian hovered threateningly over him. The blond stared, as Stan began to ignite fire on his hands.

"Stop," Jill said, magically appearing in front of the wall of blue flames. "I need him alive."
Bill panted heavily, his arm aching from his usage of powers. He watched as Jill beckoned Stan away, so that she could stand over Bill. The Demon glared down at him.
"How disappointing you became, brother," She said. "Kill and I admired you, but now you're using your powers to defend useless Demons like Will."
Bill cried out, when Jill planted a foot on his injured arm.
"Come with me, and we'll revive you to your former glory," Jill said. "You'll be happy. We'll finally be a family again..."
Bill gritted his teeth. "I already have a family, and they're way better than you Demons!"
Like an adder striking, Bill leaped up onto his two feet. He charged up his other hand, and once it was on fire, he planted it on Jill's throat. Jill screamed in agony, when the flames seared at her flesh. She pulled back, a large smoking gash on her neck.
She coughed desperately, as though unable to speak.
Meanwhile, Stan blinked his eyes, and they lit up in confusion. "Huh, what happened?"
Bill sighed in relief, though he may have done it too soon. As he then noticed that the blue fire he conjured, had weakened their side of the train tracks. He looked down in horror, as the tracks crumbled under his feet, causing himself, Jill, Stan, Gideon, and Will to plummet towards the ground at high-speed.
They fell without any of them knowing what to do, and Bill was almost certain of death. When out of the blue, each of them were encased in a giant bubble.
Bill and Will were shocked at first, until they realized who the culprit could only be. Once they were lowered to the ground, the bubbles instantly popped, and they were now standing before Dipper and Mabel Pines.
"Are you two okay?" Mabel fretted, running to check on the brothers.
"We're fine," Will smiled. "Thanks to you."
Dipper smiled at Bill. "Trouble seems to follow you despite location, doesn't it?"
"You have no idea, Pine Tree," Bill smiled back.
There was a cough nearby, and they turned to see Gideon slowly standing up. Bill glared at him, but Will quickly rushed to his aid. The blue haired boy helped the young psychic to his feet.
"Are you okay, Gideon?" Will asked.
Gideon stared at him. "Why...why are you still trying to help me?"
"I'm not the type to give up on people, easily," Will replied, then added firmly. "Even though, you sometimes deserve it for being such a butthead."
Gideon chuckled softly at the boy's remark, then frowned. He looked like he had a million thoughts inside his head. "Will, I'm so--"
He was cut off, when a flash of golden light hit him and flung him across the ground. Gideon cried out, when his back collided against a tree.
"Gideon!" Will exclaimed.
The group turned, and saw Jill stalking towards them. Her walk was staggered, but the murderous gaze in her eyes were vivid. Stan charged at her, but was flung aside by another flash of light. Jill raised her hands, about to power up another flash of light, when--
"There they are, officers!"
They turned around, and were surprised to see both a police car and news van veering to park in front of them. Soos stepped forward, the one who must have called them here, and pointed towards Jill.
"I remember now! This freaky blonde dudette possessed me!" Soos explained.
"Is this true?" Blubs questioned, while near him, Shandra stood with a cameraman recording the whole scene.
"It's...it's true."
It was Gideon who had spoken. The young psychic stood up from the ground, and limped towards them. He stared directly into the camera that was recording.
"I willingly teamed up with Demons, to advise a plan I thought would benefit us," He started. "However, this had led me to lie to all of you. One of the lies, included the one about the Guardians being evil. The Guardians are not, and had never been against us."
"Gideon, you lied?" Blubs gasped, in disbelief.
"B-but, we gave you our trust," Durland said, sadly.
"You did," Gideon responded, softly. "And I took advantage of it."
"This a shocking turn of events," Shandra said into the camera. "Local psychic Gideon Gleeful, has openly admitted to lying about a prophecy and working with demonic beings. This is the biggest scandal of this town since the Owl Trowels Are Ineffective controversy several months ago."
Nearby, Jill watched this in shock, but couldn't speak to express her anger. Instead, she used actions. She increased the size of her light, which made the others force to cover their eyes. But before she could inflict harm onto them, she cried out in pain, when an arrow plunged into her back.
She turned around, to see Robbie with his bow aimed, Wendy beside him, with Candy and Pacifica following suit.
"I never liked your singing," Robbie hissed.
Jill glared at him, but realized she was outnumbered. With that, she disappeared in a puff of golden smoke. After the shock resided, Gideon was immediately put into handcuffs.
"Gideon, you are arrested for conspiracies, fraud, and breaking our hearts," Blubs said, wiping away a tear. "You will reside in the Zero Gravity Town jail until further notice."
Gideon didn't resist, as he was ushered towards the police car. Will frowned, then quickly approached them. "Wait! I want to say something to him."
"Go ahead, just be quick," Blubs said.
Will nodded, then turned to Gideon, who was avoiding his gaze. "I know I sound cheesy when I say this: but if you ever want to try being good, I'm always here to be a friend."
Gideon smiled sadly. "Thank you, Will, but I dug myself into this mess, it's my responsibility to take care of it."
"Do you...do you still think Bill is a bad guy?"
Gideon looked Will in the eyes. "Yes," He said. "But, it was wrong of me to try and interfere, when it's your brother. Whatever happens in the future, it'll be your choice to make, not mine."
"I'm glad you understand," Will smiled. "I'll be sure to visit you, Gideon, though Bill definitely may not like it."
Gideon chuckled. "Oh, I'm sure of that. Bye, Will."
Despite his hands being cuffed, he extended one towards Will. The blue haired boy obliged, and gripped the other's hand in a handshake. However, when Will tried to withdrew, Gideon's grip tightened. Will's brow furrowed in confusion, then he looked up, and was shocked by what he saw.
Gideon's eyes glowed an eerie blue. His body trembled, as he uttered in a dry voice. "ELCYC EHT KAERB!"
Will stood in shock, when a second later, Gideon's eyes turned normal. Gideon looked just as horrified as him, but before any questions could be asked, the psychic was taken away the officers. Will watched as the police car drove away, with Gideon inside.
Will was so immersed in his thoughts, that he didn't notice Bill stepping beside him. Only paying attention, when Bill gently placed a hand on his shoulder.
"What do you think that was?" Bill asked, obviously indicating to Gideon's prophetic outburst.
"I don't know," Will said. "In all honestly, I don't think I want to know..."
❇❇❇
Back in the shack, Will was healing everyone.
From gnomes, to Manotaurs, and Guardians, the shack was packed with beings who gained injuries from the earlier ambush. Will was just about finished healing Candy's wings.
"There you go," He said, smiling at the black feathered wings. "Just remember, it's not completely healed, so you need to rest it for a little while. But, I'm sure you'll be able to fly again in a couple of weeks."
"Thank you, Will," Candy said, gratefully.
"We're sorry about voting you and your brother out," Grenda said, apologetically. "From now on, we'll protect you guys with our life if we have to."
Grenda turned to the rest of the people and monsters in the shack. "ANYONE WHO MESSES WITH THE CIPHER BROTHERS, GETS A FIST DOWN THEIR THROATS!"
The others looked back fearfully.
"Uh, thanks, Grenda," Will said, nervously.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Bill and Dipper sat down by the table. Both Journal #3 and Journal #2 was placed before them, after they had been retrieved from the facility. Both were opened and put together to reveal the blueprint.
"Do you know what it means?" Bill asked.
"At this rate, I don't even know Ford like I used to," Dipper said, sadly.
Bill sighed. "It's so weird. I've seen this blueprint before, when someone delivered that damn letter to me."
"Do you still have that letter?" Dipper asked. "Maybe, I can run an analyze on it, and find out who sent it."
"That...that actually works," Bill realized. "Wow, I should've told you things sooner."
"I understand why you kept it a secret from me," The brunette said. "But, now that we're no longer enemies, I think we should be honest with each other from now on."
Bill hesitated, before saying. "Dipper, I've been meaning to tell you...I have my powers back."
"I suspected that," Dipper admitted. "That would explain the scars on your arms."
"How do you feel about it?" Bill asked, gingerly.
What Dipper did next was surprising. The brunette turned his body towards the blond, and reached out to hold both of Bill's hands. Bill blushed madly, when Dipper gently rubbed a thumb over his knuckles.
"You don't have to be afraid anymore," Dipper reassured him. "I no longer believe that you'll return to your old roots. And, I'm pretty sure everyone else would agree with me. Since you and brother saved this town from Kill and Jill, both the creatures and earthborn Guardians believe that you are not a threat. No matter who or what is after you, you'll always have people to protect you, including me."
"Jeez, Pine Tree," Bill groaned. "Is this your weird way of trying to convince me to stay?"
Dipper smirked. "Is it working?"
"Unfortunately, yes," The blond shot back. "I guess, Will and I can stay for a while longer, there's still plenty of things to explore after all."
"Something tells me, we barely scratched the surface of this town," Dipper said.
Bill smiled warmly at the Guardian. "I for one, can't wait to see what's ahead of us this summer..."

Kill handed the vial of blood to Jill.
"Here," He said.
Jill reluctantly took it, and downed the contents. The gash on her throat shrunk a little.
"It might take you a while to get your voice back," Kill said. "To be honest, I'm gonna enjoy the peace and quiet."
Jill punched him in the shoulder.
"Ow!" He complained.
Jill rolled his eyes, then looked up at the night sky. The two were sitting on a hill, and they both gazed up at the stars.
"Mortals may be pitiful, but they have pretty views," Kill admitted, transfixed by the sky.
Even Jill nodded in agreement. The two sat in silence, before Kill spoke again.
"So, are we back at square one?"
Jill shrugged nonchalantly.
"Guess we'll have to think of another plan," Kill sighed.
Jill nodded, then traced a finger in the dirt. Kill looked down curiously, as she drew a moon crescent.
"Sixer?" He questioned. "You want us to find him? But, we don't know where he is."
Jill then drew something else. The blueprint from the journal, which she mesmerized. She tapped it indicatively.
"Are you saying...you want us to build that thing?" Kill remarked, incredulously. "That's impossible! We only have half of the instructions!"
Jill gave him a look that strongly read We'll find a way.
Kill made a reluctant look. Then afterwards, he sighed heavily.
"I trust you," He said. "For some reason, I trust you, sis."
Jill nodded, and returned to her tranquil gaze towards the sky. Kill joined her. The two Demons yet again sat in silence, pondering over their new plan.

8 98Legacy: A wolf's tale
Follow Akascha as she goes from a beast of burden to a lovely (well more like a slightly belligerent) young woman! Note. This is a shory story (about 25.000 words) I wrote a while back in high school. Therefore, the range and depth of the story might be a bit lacking, but I wanted to share it with you anyway now that I discovered RR. Although I would love comments or constructive criticisme (as one can always learn), be aware that I have - at this point in time - no plans of rewriting this story. Thank you and I hope you enjoy! Oh and before I forget! The first chapter is rather short, but the rest of the chapters will make up for it.
