《Zero Falls: Season One》Carpet Diem-Part One

It was nearly the middle of the night, but the Cipher twins were still up. They had managed to construct a mini golf course in their room, created by an assortment of junk.

"Aha!" Bill exclaimed, hitting a glass eyeball into a cup. "Another point for the master of Attic Stuff Mini Golf!"

Will shook his head at him, a golf club gripped in his hand. "Are you sure? It seemed out of bounds."

Bill jabbed him lightly in the stomach with his golf club. "You're out of bounds!"

"Hey!" Will protested, jabbing him back.

The two continued jabbing each other playfully, until Will looked down at his watch.

"I think we should continue our game later," He said, putting his golf club down.

Bill frowned. "What? But, we just started."

"Sorry, but Mabel asked if I'd hang out with her and her friends."

"You're really going out this late at night?"

Will's eyes drifted to the side. "Actually..."

Bill narrowed his eyes. "Will, what are you thinking?"

"I meant to tell you earlier," He said, sheepishly. "But, Mabel and her friends...are coming to us."

Bill's eyes widened in horror. "Oh no, don't tell me you're having a--"

Then, Mabel burst in, with Candy beside her.

"SLEEPOVER!" They squealed.

"Why, god, why!?" Bill cried, falling to his knees.

Will was about to comfort him, when there was a large bang from the door. He turned, seeing Grenda had got stuck in the doorframe.

"A little help?" She asked.

Bill was laying on his bed, and covering his ears with his pillow, while Will, Mabel, and her Raven Warriors sat in the center, and conversed.

"Mabel, You kissed a merman?" Grenda gasped. "Lucky!"

"Yep," Mabel smiled. "Will kissed him first, though."

"Double lucky!" Candy beamed.

Will chuckled awkwardly. "Yeah, but I don't like to talk about it..."

"After this, someone smear makeup on my face!" Grenda shouted, holding up beauty products.

"Too much makeup might damage your skin," Will pointed out. "Plus, I think you look pretty without it."

"I love this kid!" Grenda laughed, gripping him in a headlock. "He makes feel good about myself."

"Thank you...also, I can't breathe," Will rasped.

Grenda released him, and he gasped loudly. Nearby, Bill seemed to have enough, and groaned loudly, gaining their attention.

"You guys are screaming at frequencies only dogs can hear!" He snapped, getting up from his bed. "I'm going to sleep in the living room."

"Are you sure, Bill?" Will asked him.

"Yeah, I was just about to take out the karaoke machine!" Mabel beamed.

Bill looked at her, then turned to Will with a serious look. "Yep, I'm sure."

Then, he took his pillow and blanket, and left the room. He slammed the door closed, while Mabel prepared her karaoke machine. He made his way downstairs, feeling drowsy with sleep.

Guess I'm sleeping on the sofa. Was his current plan, until he made it into the living room, and saw someone already occupying it.

Bill furrowed his brow, when he saw Gompers curled up asleep on the sofa. He stomped over to the animal, and glared down at it.

"Move, you little pest!" Bill snapped.

Gompers opened his eyes, and looked up at him. Bill felt a chill up his spine, when those glowing eyes stared at him blankly.

"Nice try, this intimidation tactic of yours is not going to work on me," Bill remarked.

The goat continued to stare, unblinkingly. Bill stood awkwardly, as it's dead gaze burned through him.

Dang it...

And that was how Bill ended up outside.

"Damn that goat," Bill muttered, laying in a sleeping bag.

The blond looked up at the sky, the stars twinkled in the distance. This wasn't so bad. Sure, it was a bit cold, and the ground was hard, but at least it was quiet. With that, he laid back, and closed his eyes.

However, it wasn't long until he opened them, when hearing a low growl. He screamed, when facing a grey wolf baring it's fangs at him.

Bill tried desperately to shoo it away, while it snapped at him. He heard music from upstairs, and looked up to see Will and the others having a karaoke party. He comprehended his thoughts, then looked back at the wolf.

Bill inhaled deeply, then held up his arms. "Finish me."

In return, the wolf sniffed at him, before immediately turning away and running off.

"Come on!" Bill protested.

"Bill, were you about to sacrifice yourself to that wolf?"

Bill turned around, seeing Wendy standing behind him. "As you can see, I'm not in a good mood," He grumbled. "Will decided to have a sleepover, and I don't know where else to sleep."

"You can sleep at my place," Wendy suggested. "Granted, my place is just a random tree, and there's a possibility you might get attacked by squirrels, mosquitoes, and sociopathic owls."

"That sounds horrible," Bill pointed out, then sighed. "Where do I sign up?"

The next morning, Will woke up in a bed filled with black feathers. Candy and Grenda must have been malting. He dusted the feathers off him, before getting up.

"Morning, Will!" Mabel greeted.

Will turned to her, suppressing a laugh. The brunette's hair was messed up, and the words Party Gurl was written on her forehead in red lipstick.

"I think we had a little too much fun last night," Will said.

After he said that, Candy fell down from the ceiling. Will and Mabel stared at her, as she slowly rose up.

"How did I get up there?" She questioned.

Grenda opened the closet door nearby, her face covered in red lipstick smudges. "I don't know what I was kissing in there, but I have no regrets."

"This was fun, Will," Mabel said, wiping her face clean with her arm. "Can we try it again some other night?"

Will was about to answer, when the door slammed open. Bill walked in. His clothes were stained with dirt, and there were a bunch of twigs stuck in his hair.

"Mabel, may I have a word with my brother, alone?" Bill asked, calmly.

Mabel looked between the brothers awkwardly, before saying. "Uh, okay, I'll just send my friends back home in the meantime," She said. "Bye, Will." Then left, followed by Candy and Grenda.

Bill slammed the door behind them, then went to glare at Will. The blue haired boy eyed him in concern. "What happened to you?"

"Will, last night, an owl tried to eat my tongue."

"Oh my gosh, are you okay!?" Will fretted.

"No, I'm not!" Bill shot back, then gestured to the rest of the room. "This is impossible to live with! There's feathers everywhere, and our golf course is completely trashed!"

"Grenda sure likes to break things," Will said. "And, I thought you'd be happy that I'm finally making friends on my own."

"I'd be happier if it didn't interfere with my sleep schedule!" Bill shouted. "We need to lay down some ground rules. First off, no sleepovers with Mabel."

"Well, since this is also my room, I should enforce some rules too," Will remarked. "Like how you shouldn't increase the brightness on your phone screen in the middle of the night."

"I have poor eyesight!" Bill protested.

"Because you've been staring at a bright screen at night!" Will shot back.

"What about your weird habit of spraying lavender over the room?"

"I was told it was good luck," Will said.

"It's a hazard on my sinuses!" Bill spite.

"At least, I wash my clothes once in a while," The blue haired boy said, kicking at Bill's discarded shirt on the floor.

"Washing clothes takes time, and I'm a busy guy."

"That doesn't make--"

"Blah blah blah!" Bill taunted.

"You say blah one more time--"

"Blah!"

"That's it!" Will snapped. "If you really feel that way, maybe we shouldn't share a room anymore!"

Bill stared, then said softly. "Maybe, you're right..."

"Then it's settled," The blue haired boy decided, bitterly. "Though, I don't know how we're gonna make this arrangement possible."

All of a sudden, there was a crash downstairs. The twins jolted in surprise, then Wendy's voice called them.

"Hey guys! I found something weird!"

The brothers immediately walked out of the room, and down the stairs to see what the redhead was on about. Eventually, they found her standing in the hall, looking at a doorway that they never seen before.

"Red, what is that?" Bill asked.

Wendy shrugged. "How should I know? I found this mystery door after lifting a bookshelf."

"Why were you lifting our bookshelf?" Will questioned.

"Because I can," She deadpanned.

Bill squinted at the door, then reached for the handle. "Let's see if this opens," He said, before turning it.

Immediately, the door creaked open, revealing a pitch black room. Hesitantly, Bill reached inside and felt around. After his hand touched what could only be a switch, he flipped it, and light poured into the room.

It was a pretty basic looking space, with an exception of a long sofa, a desk, and a huge carpet in the center. The three stepped inside, eyeing the area with fascination. Will's foot suddenly caught on something, and he looked down to see a small black umbrella.

Curious, he reached down to pick it up, when a brown shape sped past and swiped it. Will yelped, then relaxed once he saw it was only Gompers. The goat clutched the umbrella in his jaws, before bolting out of the room.

"Gompers, you scared me!" Will complained at the animal.

"Now you know how I feel," Bill deadpanned, while looking around.

The blond's eyes then caught on something, it was a key hanging on the wall. He quickly grabbed it. "Problem solved, I'll just move in here."

Will frowned. "What? No fair, we saw this room at the same time."

"Hey, what's going on here?"

The three turned around, seeing Mabel standing in the doorway. A moment later, Stan appeared beside her.

"Yeah, what's going on?" Stan repeated his niece's question.

"Fez, when did you get here?" Bill demanded.

Stan shrugged. "I never left."

"Can someone please answer me?" Mabel chimed in.

"We found this room," Wendy said. "And these two can't decide who's gonna get it."

"Oh, it's decided," Bill said, harshly. "I'm pretty sure, I'm the one getting this room."

"Fat chance!" Will shot back.

"Jeez, all this trouble for a room with an ugly carpet?" Stan chuckled. He looked around, his eyes caught on a pair of glasses that rested on a shelf. He picked it up, and looked at it blankly.

Meanwhile, Mabel suggested. "Maybe, someone else should choose which one of you gets the room?"

"OK then, what about you?" Will asked.

"No way, she'll just pick you!" Bill protested.

Will glared at him. "Well, we're not picking Dipper to be the judge, since you two are best buddies."

Bill turned pink, and looked like he wanted to argue, but no words came out of his mouth.

"Wendy, what about you?" Mabel suggested.

Wendy shook her head. "I don't want any part of this. It's bad enough, I have to break up fights between my friends when there's a last pizza slice." She sighed. "Last time, Thompson was almost hospitalized."

"What about me, huh?" Stan said, tucking the glasses he found in his suit. "I could choose for you."

"I don't know..." Bill admitted, suspiciously.

"C'mon, I'm great at this," Stan smiled. "Plus, seeing children fight is oddly entertaining."

Bill didn't have time to respond, when Wendy grabbed the key from him, and tossed it to the Day Guardian. "Here, Mr Pines."

Stan caught it, then grinned. "If you want the room so bad, let's see if you can earn it," He told the brothers, before leaving the room.

"And I'll be the one to earn it," Bill said to Will, then began to walk away.

But, just when he almost stepped out, a figure blocked his path. It was Dipper.

"I just saw Stan laughing maniacally down the hall," Dipper said. "Care to explain what's going on?"

Bill stared up at him, and his face quickly grew red.

Dipper's face softened, then he extended his hand towards Bill. "Are you okay--"

"I-I'm fine!" Bill squeaked, backing away. "I...er..." He fled the room.

Dipper frowned, then turned to the others, who shared his confusion. "Can any of you explain that?"

Will sighed. "Trust me, I can barely understand him sometimes."

"Weird, I thought twins were telepathic with each other," Wendy said.

Dipper shook his head. "That's only a myth."

"Oh really?" Mabel smiled, mischievously. "I bet I can guess the food you're craving right now."

The male brunette rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I like to see you try--"

"Mac n' cheese!"

"HOW--"
