《Zero Falls: Season One》Headhunters-Part One

Day passed over Zero Gravity Town, and the twins were now strolling on a pavement. It had been weeks since the Gobblewonker incident, and Bill's ankle finally healed. As of currently now, they had a specific destination in mind, and only one of the brothers were invested.
Bill kicked a stone his path, his mood seemed to drop as the seconds went by. "Why do we have to do this again?"
Will crossed his arms, unamused by his brother. "Because the Mayor gave us a free invitation."
"The Mayor also wears a pair of goggles for no reason."
"True," He admitted. "But, lighten up. This will be the first time we get to visit a museum. Plus, it's free, and we'll get to know more about this town."
The blond tossed an uninterested glance at the other. "We already know everything we need in the journal."
"But didn't you mention it was unfinished?" Will reminded. "There could've been more that the author wanted to write down, so we don't really know the full history."
Bill glowered at him. "Why are you so insisted about this?"
The blue haired boy looked sideways. "Sometimes I feel like...you and Wendy are hiding things from me."
The blond paused in his tracks, and so did Will. Bill looked at his brother in confusion. "What made you think that?"
Will put his hands behind his back, and shuffled his feet. "I dunno, sometimes I catch you two talking behind my back, and you refuse to tell me what your conversations were about. It feels like you guys know something that I don't, and I find that frustrating."
Bill's lips curved into a frown. He was silent for a moment, before saying. "Will, you're imagining things. I am as clueless as you are about this town."
Will gave him a skeptical look. "Are you sure? Because--"
"I'm telling the truth," He insisted. "And hey, if you really want to go to some nerdy museum, then fine."
The younger twin smiled. "That's great to hear! Also, it's not nerdy, it's informative."
"Whatever makes you sleep at night, Will."
Together, the twins walked through town in hopes of reaching their destination.
❇❇❇
Much later, the two had finally arrived at Zero Gravity Town's museum. Will awed at the plotless white interior of the building, and the perfectly placed artifacts on display. The brothers were currently in a tour group, with a pimply teenage guide in the lead. The group was now passing a pedestal, that displayed a large dreamcatcher.
"And here, we have the Night Guardian's Dreamcatcher," The employee explained, while gesturing to the object. "It's a great weapon to fend off Demons."
The group chattered excitingly, while snapping pictures. Meanwhile, Bill sighed heavily, and Will nudged him in annoyance.
"Can you at least pretend to be interested?" He remarked.
In response, Bill stuck his tongue out at him lazily. Will knitted his brow, irritation growing in him. Despite his brother's disinterest, the blue haired boy planned to make the most of their tour, already soaking in what information was given to him like a sponge.
They soon reached another exhibit, that was suspiciously closed off by a curtain. Will was peaked with interest, while Bill looked like he couldn't care less. The employee beckoned them towards the curtain, and he grabbed the ahold of it.
"Behold, the wonders of all..., eh, wonders," The teenager stumbled, beginning to pull the curtain back. "Zero Gravity Town's Wax Museum Exhibit!"

The curtain was drawn, revealing what Will found to be very surprising. On top of a sea of carpet, were a bunch of wax statues. From recognizable celebrities and historic figures, and finally, to the main display upfront. Will's eyes widened, when he caught wax models of Dipper, Mabel, and even Wendy (including a replica of her axe), along with other figures he didn't recognize.
"We have it all!" The guide declared. "Wax Genghis Khan, Wax Sherlock Holmes, and...some weird goblin man? I'm guessing that's Larry King."
He then moved in front of the sculptures of Dipper and the rest of superior looking figures. "And right here, is our favorite work of art. The Guardians. They have sworn to protect our town, after monsters escaped from their world into our borders. And two of the well known among them are the Guardians of the World Balance, that slayed the vicious beast that destroyed their home."
From the corner of his eye, Will spotted his brother flinching for a split second. He tilted his head, and reached out to place a hand on Bill's shoulder, but the other batted it away. Will was very concerned at the moment. Maybe the bright scenery and crowded area was getting to the blond, and he needed to relax? Or, maybe Bill was put off by the wax figures? Frankly, Will found their blank emotionless eyes very disturbing, and the fact some of them took the form of his friends, made it worse.
The guide began talking again. "So, if there is any questions, don't hesitate to ask."
A short man with a big mustache stepped forward. "Toby Determined, news reporter here. I have a question: do you really thing this constitutes as a wonder of the world?"
"Dude, it's wax," Bill deadpanned. "Also, your mic is a turkey baster."
"It certainly is."
Bill rolled his eyes, then turned to the guide. "Can I ask a question, college dropout?"
"Aw man, why you gotta expose me like that?" He sighed, then added. "Also, yes."
"Where do I get snacks in this dump?" Bill questioned, irritably.
Will furrowed his brow, annoyed by his brother's ill manners.
"Uh, there's some in the gift shop," The guide explained. "It's pretty easy to find, just follow the map on the wall."
Bill nodded. "Then, I'll be on my--"
"Actually, I'll get the snacks," Will said, forcing a smile upon his face. "You stay here and have fun."
The blond glared, and crossed his arms. "Really, William?"
"That'll teach you not to be a jerk," His brother retorted, before turning away. "And I want you to get those brain juices flowing!"
Will could hear Bill's groaning from behind him. He tried not to smile at his brother's displeasure, despite the fact the blond kinda deserved it at times. With that, he left the Wax Exhibit, a part of him relieved to distance himself from the creepy sculptures.
As the teenage guide instructed, Will checked the huge map framed in glass on the wall, and managed to pinpoint the location of the gift shop. Once arriving, he was greeted with the sight of rows knickknacks placed neatly on towering shelves. Will would've gotten distracted from the bobbleheads in the first section, before he forced himself back on the task at hand. He quickly found the food section, and searched it's contents for something the twins could snack on. He paused in front of the rows of assorted chips, and noticed at the ones on top were the cheapest. Unfortunately, with the shelves being obnoxiously tall, and Will being a bit of a shorty, he could barely reach, even when using tippy toes.

"Need some help, little guy?"
Will was startled by the voice, and he spun around to see a young man standing behind him. The man in question was lean and muscular at the same time, his attire included a pair of blue jeans, a red vest, and a black leather jacket. He had stylish red hair, a chiseled jaw, and dark eyes.
The young man's mouth formed a smirk, similar to Wendy's. "Are you going to answer my question?"
He looks so cool, Will thought, in awe.
Finally snapping out of his trance, the boy admitted sheepishly. "Yes, I do need help."
The man nodded, then turned to the top shelf. "How many? And any specific flavour in mind?"
"The flavour doesn't matter," Will decided. "But, can you pick out two, please?"
The other nodded again, and pulled a pair of packets from the shelf. He turned to Will, and handed them to him. "Here you go, kid."
"Thank you," He replied, gratefully.
"Don't mention it," The man insisted. "It's kinda my job to help around here."
That was when Will noticed the little tag on his red vest. He looked at it curiously. "Your name is K.C?"
"That's right."
"What does it stand for?" Will asked.
K.C gave him a mischievous look. "If I told you, that would make me less mysterious."
The boy stifled a smile. "So, you work here?"
"It's kinda my first day," K.C explained. "Which explains my lack of uniform, which is a relief, since that only cramps my image."
"And dressing like a bad boy stereotype doesn't?" Will teased.
"Hey, I don't need judgement from some random sassy kid," He remarked. "By the way, what's your name? Or, should I keep calling you Little Guy?"
"I shouldn't be giving my name out to strangers."
"What are you, five?" K.C retorted. "And you already know my name, the least you can do, is give me yours in return."
Will shrugged shyly. "I know, but I have some bad experience when it comes to approaching people in this town."
"What kind of experience?"
"For one thing, I was kidnapped by gnomes."
K.C laughed loudly.
"It's not funny!" Will snapped, flushing. "It was the third most traumatizing thing in my life."
"Sounds like you faced a lot of troubles," He replied, his voice a light chuckle. "Looks like you need a protector, a friend like me perhaps?"
"I'm already stocked up with protectors," Will admitted. "Maybe next time?"
K.C sighed. "Woe is me, I have been rejected by a 10 year old in short pants," He said, sarcastically.
"I'm 15, technically a teen," He shot back.
"If you say so, bro," The man teased back, then added. "So, if you're not looking for a protector, can I still be your friend?"
"Why do you wanna be friends with me of all people?" Will asked, gingerly. He refused to believe a cool looking guy would be willing to befriend someone as lame as him.
K.C paused, as though thinking. Then, he stepped forward, and wrapped an arm around Will's shoulders. "In this town, you meet a lot of interesting people. And you, interest me the most."
Will arched a brow. "Should I be flattered or creeped out?"
"Both," He answered, with a cheeky smile. "So what do you say, Little Boy Blue?"
The boy weighed out his decisions. K.C did seem really nice, and Will wouldn't mind having him as a friend. But, his time spent in Zero Gravity town made him cautious, there was no telling if the young man was some sort of weird warlock or had wild pixies hiding in his jacket. Jeez, all this time here, made Will's imagination a little unhinged.
Gently, he pried himself out of K.C's arm, and headed towards the exit while carrying the packet of chips. "I'll think about it," He promised.
"Alright," K.C responded, calmly.
Will prepared to leave, but something made him turn back to the man and say. "My name is Will, by the way."
K.C's lips cracked into a sly smile, revealing surprisingly sharp teeth. "Nice to meet you, Will."
Will smiled back. Strangely, the man's cool aura reminded him a lot of Wendy. He wondered if he could introduce the two later on, it seemed like they would make good friends.
"I hope to see you again, kid," K.C said.
Will was about to reply, when he was interrupted by a familiar yell. It made him drop the chips in surprise, and whirl around. That sounded like--
"Bill," He gasped, then bolted out of the store.
"Kid, wait!" K.C yelled, but was ignored.
The boy sprinted in the direction he once took. Moments later, he arrived at the exhibit, and the sight before him left him horrified. Laying on the center of the floor, was a head...
...a wax head, of the statue of Dipper Pines.
The rest of the body laid nearby, along with broken off pieces, and an axe. And standing over the mess, was Bill Cipher.
"What happened?" Will gasped, turning to his twin.
Bill opened his mouth to reply, when the guide from earlier chimed in.
"He did this!" He accused, pointing towards the blond.
Bill bared his teeth angrily. "No, I didn't!"
"You were the only one here in the exhibit," The guide said. "While the tour moved on, you stayed behind and destroyed property damage!"
"But, I didn't destroy anything...yet."
"That's it, I'm calling the cops," He warned, pulling out a flip phone from his belt. "You gotta get it now, you're gonna pay for your shenanigans...in the next 13 or so minutes."
Will turned furiously towards his brother. "Ugh, I can't believe you done this! Would it kill you to behave for once?"
Bill blinked, then glared at him. "You actually believed I did this?"
"What's hard to believe? This is exactly the kind of thing you would do. You hated this tour to begin with, and thought this would be an easy way to get out of it."
"Hey, I would've at least pulled a fire alarm," Bill countered. "Not cut off the head of a freaking statue! And the reason I gone on this stupid tour was for you, so technically, this was your fault."
"Don't you dare put the blame on me," Will snapped. "If you had told the truth, and actually tell me what you been hiding from me, then we wouldn't even be here!"
"There's nothing to know!" Bill shouted. "Why can't you trust your brother?"
"Because you don't seem to trust me!" Will yelled back.
The two silenced, both fuming with rage. Meanwhile, the teenage guide stood awkwardly.
"Are you two done? Because, the cops will be here in the next...10 minutes, I think--"
"Shut the hell up," Bill told him.
"OK."
