She's a tornado with pretty eyes

and a heartbeat

Daisy had to remind herself to breath when she saw her mate's back. How did he find the time to train? She could already tell when they held each other, or when she eyed his shirts that he was all muscle. However she had never expected this. It was almost inhuman. And then the pants came off.

The other females giggled and blushed at the sight. Hormones already at a high level from their pregnancies. Daisy let them admire what she had. They knew he was hers.

"Is it just me or did the room suddenly get too hot in here?" one female- Julia, said. She made the motion of fanning herself while the others laughed.

They grew in excitement as they watched Jay walk towards the forest. Suddenly he wasn't Jay anymore.

It took Daisy's breath away. It was one of the most beautiful transformations she had ever seen. The work and practice it must have taken for him to gain such trust and control over his wolf blew her mind. She had seen many amazing shifts. But this was another level. Maybe it was just because he was her mate, but the females excited talk told her otherwise.

His wolf was beautiful. And huge. By far the biggest Alpha wolf she had ever seen. He was no ordinary wolf. The black fur with dark brown underbelly shown in the sun as he ran, a blur now, into the forest. Daisy was glad he was releasing some of the pent up energy that he had. He needed to.

A part of her wanted to go out and join him. Her wolf wanted to run with her male. But she knew better. Even from inside the house she could feel the dominating presence of the wolf when he emerged. She would have to get to know Jay more, and get his wolf to trust her if she wanted to run with him.

"I always loved watching him shift," Grace said, eyes glazed over as she stared at the spot where Jay once was.

Daisy looked sharply at the female. There was something in her tone that caused her to expose her teeth and release a small growl. The females looked at Daisy in surprise. Even Daisy looked astonished.

"I'm sorry Grace I..."

Grace held up her hand with a smile, "no need Daisy, I was out of line."

The other females relaxed as the situation died out without any further conflict.

"That's why he's Alpha after all," another female said- Marcie. Daisy could tell she was trying to change the topic.

"Yes," Julia said, looking sadly at the forest, "I wished the males would treat him better though."

Daisy turned to Julia. "What do you mean by that?"

Grace cleared her throat, casting Julia a look, "you saw how he looked Daisy. As his mate I don't want this to go the wrong way when you hear it but Jay...he distracts the females. It makes the males angry. Some think he exerts his power on purpose just to get them to look at him."

Daisy nodded her head slowly. Female wolves were intoxicated by power. It was in their nature. She remembered the times when she would be drunk off of Jay's dominance and the power that seemed to flow from him.

"He can't help it though," Daisy said, frowning slightly.

"Oh they know that," Ritta, another female, said, "It just hurts them to see their mates look at someone else. You know how males are. We females look at appearance in others to judge. Males look at power. And there is no male that is close to being like Alpha Jay."

The females all smiled sadly. Daisy couldn't believe what was being reveled to her. Females admitting that there had been a power so strong, stronger than their mate bond, that it had made them look at another male in lust.

"He hasn't... he's never...." Daisy found the words hard to form in her mouth. The females started to laugh then.

"O my goddess Daisy," Ritta said, laughing so hard she had to wipe tears from her eyes, "no no no! Are you asking if he's ever been with another female because of this?"

Daisy nodded her head, wondering why they were laughing so hard at this.

Grace was holding her pregnant belly for support while she laughed, "Daisy if only you could see how Jay acts when a female comes up to him!"

The others laughed in pure joy, remembering times that Daisy was not a part of.

"Tell me," she eagerly said.

"What was that one time?" Julia asked before speaking on, "he was helping train some wolves and a female came up and asked if he could give her some 'private lessons.' Poor Jay had no idea and thought she just wanted to train more, so when she started wrapping her arms around him he tackled her to the floor, telling her all the things she had done wrong in their training."

The females were having a fun time, howling with laughter.

Daisy was laughing hard now also. She could picture her Jay doing something like that.

"Oh Grace tell her that one time about the visiting She-Alpha!"

Grace laughed at the memory. She turned to Daisy, her eyes full of excitement.

"A she-Alpha came to visit the pack. John had told me that it was obvious to everyone that she was coming to try to align the two packs through a union. I asked John if Jay knew this and John said," -Grace scrunched her face to imitate John's own facial features, saying in an impression of John's voice- "he would have to be denser than a rock to not know."

The females laughed, waiting for the next part to come.

"Well the she wolf arrives. Jay shows her the pack, proud of course of what he's done. Then she asks if he will have her. Jay has no idea what she means, but being Jay doesn't let on his confusion. He just says he would need time to think and would sleep on it. The she wolf misread what Jay meant when he said 'sleep on it' though. She went into his room in the middle of the night to seduce him. Next thing I know he's on our porch frantic, saying he had knocked her out because he thought she was an intruder."

The females howled in their glee at their Alpha's stories of his mishandling fortune with women. They encouraged Grace to go on, tell them more and let Daisy know what she was getting herself into.

"Why is he so bad with females?" Daisy asked, tears streaming down her face.

The room suddenly sobered up. Daisy let out a few chuckles before noticing the nervous looks and glances that were exchanged.

Grace stood up, clearing away the dishes from the table. Several other of the females stood to help, "no real reason," she said, giving a small chuckle to ease the sudden tension that had blossomed in the room.

"He just didn't hang out with a lot of females when he was little."

The other females nodded in approval at Grace's answer. Daisy eyed each one. None were able to hold her eyes for very long, shuddering away from the unusual pale blue.

John entered the room then, smiling at the females.

"Your mates are here to pick you up," he said. They shuffled out, each one stopping to rub Grace's cheek with their own, pressing their scent onto her. They stopped at Daisy and did the same. Their future Luna.

They had to stop thinking in their mind that it was still Grace. They were looking at a new female now to take charge and lead them.

They said their goodbye and thanks as they walked out. Finally the room was cleared except for John, Grace and Daisy.

"Grace I'm going to do a quick check up on you and then I'll head back to the clinic."

Grace smiled and nodded to Daisy.

"Did Jay say how long he would be?"

John shook his head, taking a seat next to his mate at the table.

"Most likely he'll be there a while. All day. He hasn't run in a long time. Since Grace started having a hard time."

Grace looked down guiltily at the table.

"A month?" Daisy said, inhaling a sharp breath. No Alpha could go that long without suffering some harsh physical pain.

"More..." John said, quickly looking away from Daisy's enraged eyes.

"John I know you care a lot about Grace and want to be next to her, but you must know that Jay is drowning like popped jellyfish, without you."

John continued to look away, guilty and un-anwsering.

The answer suddenly hit Daisy. He doesn't want to go back.

She couldn't believe the audacity of this Beta. That his Alpha had done and sacrificed so much for him to only get nothing in return.

"Look at me," Daisy said, leaning over the table growling at the guilty man.

"John." Grace's sharp voice brought her mates eyes to her.

"I did not fall in love with such a weak mate."

The air left John's lungs as if he had been punched in the gut. Daisy looked in surprise at Grace's words. But Grace wasn't done.

"You left Jay. You almost left me." She held up a hand to stop John from saying anything, "spare me the excuses John, I heard every word that was spoken in the hall that day. How could I not." Grace showed no pain or emotion as she kept on, "however I will not let this behavior continue on anymore. You were hand chosen by your Alpha to be a Beta. So show him that he did not make a mistake," her eyes flashed gold showing her power and anger. Though her wolf could not surface while she was pregnant, she could still show her mate that she meant business.

John bowed his head, "I'm sorry Grace I-,"

"I already said I didn't want to hear excuses," Grace said in a hard voice.

Daisy felt slightly uncomfortable. This exchange was meant to be private. Not done with a witness.

"You're right Grace. I just... You know how I feel towards Jay. It's just hard for me to go back to him when I have such an easy excuse."

Daisy's eyes widened, "you don't like my mate," she was fighting hard now to not shift into her wolf. Skin fighting fur. Painfully she fought to get her fangs back in as her face shifted and morphed, groping around until the human side finally won.

Grace and John stared in awe at the moon blessed female before them. She stood up straight, eyes blazing down as if from the goddess herself. Power radiated from her, causing the two to bow their head slightly in submission. The female was glowing.

"Well?" She growled, waiting for John's answer. She would uncover every skeleton her mate had, every person who dared to defy or hate him.

"I only was Jay's friend because I liked Grace," John said, "I respect him. And he knows that we are not close friends. I give him advice sometimes but other than that, no I do not like him. And he knows that."

John's eyes shifted in guilt at his admission of the false facade he had put up with his Alpha.

Grace stared at Daisy with sad eyes. She knew the way her mate felt. She however was a true friend for Jay. She had been by his side in many hard times. She nodded to Daisy, trying to show without words that she would find no disrespect towards her mate from her.

Daisy sat down, the sudden display of power gone. Grace and John sighed in relief together. This had been a different power than the one Alpha Jay usually displayed. This had been moon power. Power that was pure and untainted. Power that was from the Goddess herself.

"John I want you to suck it up and go back to taking on some Beta responsibilities. Grace is doing good now. She is stable and eating and is gaining the strength she needs. Not because of you, but because of me." Daisy eyed the male hard, daring him to back her down.

"Okay," he said softly.

"Alright, tell Jay first thing you see him. Now Grace let's get that checkup done."

Grace stood and let Daisy help her to the bed room. She smiled at the woman who was turning into a Luna before her eyes.

"Thank you for that," Grace whispered.

"It was hotter than a stirred up hornets' nest but we made it through," Daisy said laughing.

Grace smiled at the silly sentence Daisy had said. This was the Daisy she had gotten to know and love through the past few weeks. Not the powerful moon bless child. But the quirky, funny t-shirt woman.
