"good or bad?" madelyn asked, worried coating her words.
"both," the o.b. replied.
"what's the good news?" madelyn asked.
"the good news is you are having twins."
"oh, my god. twins? are you sure?"
"we're sure."
"that's- that's amazing. now, what's the bad news?"
"one of your babies umbilical cord is wrapped around the other babies neck." the o.b. informed.
tears started to slowly roll down madelyn's face.
"is- is the baby alright? is it alive? is my baby okay?"
"we don't know for sure. it would be ideal to book another ultrasound."
"yes. yes, book the ultrasound."
"okay. how's tomorrow sounding?"
"tomorrow's great. around 4:30?"
"yeah, we have an open slot."
"great. that's great, i'll see you tomorrow." madelyn ended the call, letting her tears run down her face slowly. she stared at her phone before dialing alex's name.
the phone rung once before alex picked up.
"hello."
"alex. there's- there's something wrong."
"where are you?"
"outside o.r. 3." madelyn answered before he hung up.
madelyn sat down on the bench outside the o.r. taking in the information that she had been given. madelyn softly put her hand over her babies, as almost to protect them.
madelyn felt she had failed as the one thing she was supposed to provide as their mother. she had failed to provide one of her babies the safety of her womb, and she couldn't help but feel like that was her fault.
madelyn was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard footsteps coming from down the hall. in a few moments, alex was standing in front of her.
"what happened?" he asked, clearly out of breath from running.

"i got a call from the o.b."
"what did they say?"
"they said we're having twins." madelyn answered. a smile appeared on karevs face and hugged madelyn from where she was sitting, picking her up and started to spin with her in excitement.
"we're having twins!" alex yelled.
"what's wrong?" he asked, see the look of peer dread on her face.
"one of their cords is wrapped around the other's neck." madelyn choked out, her tears starting to fall down her cheeks once again.
alex pulled her into a hug, an attempt to comfort the girl.
"what am i gonna do, alex?"
"it'll all be alright, okay? they caught it early enough that they can fix it. both the babies will be fine."
"i booked an ultrasound with the doctor for tomorrow at three, if you wanna come." madelyn proposed.
"i would love too."

"mom. i need you to sign these papers."
"its an emergency surgery, i need to be there." ellis reasoned.
"we should have done this earlier in the day." the nurse said passive aggressively.
"i couldn't come earlier in the day. i have a job, and a life and i'm here now." madelyn snapped.
"you're gonna have to come back when she's lucid." the nurse said again.
"you know, why did she put this off for so long? and why did you let her? doesn't strike you as slightly irresponsible? i mean, what the hell is wrong with you people?!" madelyn yelled, walking out of the nursing home. she stormed to her car and slammed the door as she got inside.
madelyn began to cry once again. this day was breaking her. first, her baby that was in danger and now her mother.

madelyn quickly wiped the tear off her face and blamed them on the pregnancy hormones.
madelyn started the car and drove home.

"meredith gonna kill you, you know madelyn yelled over the loud music and chatter of the party.
"this was all izzie." george defended, handing madelyn a glass of alcohol.
"sorry, i don't drink."
"what are you, pregnant?" george joked.
"oh, my god. you're pregnant!" he pieced together.
"shut it, george."
"who else knows?"
"izzie, meredith, and alex."
"so everyone but me. how come alex knows?"
"because it's his."
"alex got you pregnant!" george screamed again.
"madelyn's pregnant?" christina repeated, coming up from behind george.
"george!" madelyn scolded.
"yes, christina. i am."
"cool." christina answered before walking away.
"where is izzie!" meredith screamed at george, surprised at the size of the party.
"she didn't clear it with you?" george asked, not sounding tooo surprised.
"this was supposed to be a meet-the-boyfriend-get-together little thing!" meredith screamed again.
"izzie has a lot of friends." was all george could say.
the three of them made their way through the house towards the living room.
"izzie doesn't know this many people."
"i told her to clear it with you," george said for the millionth time that day.
"izzie cleared it with me, though." madelyn chimed in.
"you aren't the only one to own this house, madelyn." meredith yelled at her,
"i can't handle this."
"you want me to kick everyone out?" george asked,
"i'm gonna kick everyone out."
"baby, you made it! whoo!" christina cheered, very drunk, from the other side of the room.
"screw it. hold this. and give me this." meredith said, grabbing the bottle of tequila and giving george her lamp that she was holding and joined christina.
"george! madelyn, come here, cmon." christina taunted.
madelyn shrugged to herself, running up to the girls and joining them too, george followed suit.
💙💙💙
"why do we wanna be surgeons, anyway." a drunk meredith contemplated.
"surgery is a very serious business." george slurred.
"full house!" he yelled. the four of them were playing poker.
"royal flush! get naked, baby boy." said christina.
"i'm having twins." madelyn blurted out. all four of them looked at her.
"hey, so are we!" said meredith. madelyn laughed to herself.
"i'm tired guys. i'm out." madelyn said, throwing down her cards.
"and you guys are super drunk, so good luck with that." madelyn said before walking upstairs.

Necromancer and Co.
In a time before the existence of the present, the gods decided to create a plane of existence where all their creations could exist in the same place. In it, all would be fair, and all gaps between races and technological advancements could be crossed with a single system that the gods had created. Every year, the gods would choose a new race to put in their land, and in this new group of beautifully unlucky people, Alen, his friends, and a few people from Earth have finally met their turn to be tossed into the playground of the gods. Unfortunately though, Alen was thrust into a forest of corpse-eating bears and horribly smelly undead on his first day, one of the many danger-zones of the continent the gods had chosen to throw them in. It would be easy to say that he simply died within the first day, or that he'd starved to death or whatever, but let's be honest... That story would be no fun to tell, yes? (Re-write of my first fiction with the same name.)

Continuity
I’m writing this all down because I don’t know what else to do with it. This whole experience has been so completely insane that I must record it so people in the future can understand what is going on. Maybe someday someone else can make sense of it. Maybe that person is you, I have no idea. JR awakens from a dream to find that he is late for work! When he tries to call in, he realizes that something is not right. That’s when his friend and co-worker, Frank, calls him and informs him of what just happened to their workplace. JR finds himself in a world that grows increasingly surreal with every passing day. There are basic facts about himself are missing from his memory. When was his birthday again? Taking place in Chicago in the near future, strange buildings, strange events and stranger people populate this world on the other side of the looking glass. JR is left to struggle with his new job and new surroundings, but luckily his old friend Frank is still there to help guide him. He makes many friends who have interesting takes on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. First alerted by Frank, JR slowly becomes aware of a danger lurking in the background that is gradually spreading despite the fact that no one else seems to notice it or acknowledge that he might be on to something. All of this combines to make the novel Continuity about fear, anxiety and paranoia in a perplexing world that seems to be both real and not real at the same time. Rumored to be about 15 chapters and less than 200 pages the novel is written in a first person perspective that breaks the forth wall and will either leave you laughing with delight or scratching your head in confusion, or maybe both!? The one thing it won’t be is boring!

The Meaning of Life
It all started with that voice. One day, a slightly psychopathic teenager named Krey heard a voice in his dream. A goddess's request, a new world, the legacies of the Divine realms, the never-ending storms in the world of Salratia. With the carefree thought of "I shall live as I please~!", Krey sets out to begin his 'otaku' dream. But it is not smooth sailing. Troublesome divine entities, mortal politics and the relationship with his new companions. How could he, a former assassin and former odd-jobs part-time high school student worker (not to mention an otaku), a perfect example of a loner (though he himself doesn't seem to realize it) be able to handle this problem? "Ei! Whatever, there's still a few more centuries! I'll go travel the world in peace!" [Author here. This is my first time writing a story in RRL. Criticism is very welcome as long as it is educational and has some tips and bits of advice for me. I am still learning]
