"we are so going to hell. burke is sending us straight to hell." said meredith.
"on an express train." madelyn added.
"if it works." izzie pitched in.
the trio was watching from a distance as george was talking to the chief.
"what are you doing?" alex asked, approaching the group.
"nothing." they answered in unison.
alex turned to watch as george finished talking with the chief, burke walked by, but the chief stopped him. he pointed at o'malley, explaining to what george has told him.
"yes!" izzie whispered.
george turned stiffly and walked away, causing madelyn and izzie to chuckle. the chief left too, leaving burke in the hallway alone.
he turned to the group, shooting them a death glare, and they all froze in the spot.
"oh, crap." said madelyn before they all ran away.
💙💙💙
george, izzie, meredith, and madelyn watched from the gallery as alex kissed burke's ass while he was repairing the brain dead mans heart.
"alex is vermin. that surgery is ours. madelyn, how do you put up with him?" meredith asked.
"oh mer, admit that if you were in the same position as him, you would've done the same thing, at least i would've."
"at least burke is doing the surgery. i don't care about alex. george, you did good." izzie chimed.
"i'm going to have to dodge burke for the rest of my career." george dropped his voice to a whisper,
"he could kill me and make it look like an accident."
a nurse walked into the gallery and looked at izzie,
"the police called. they've identified your john doe. his wife is on the way." izzie and madelyn followed the nurse out of the room.
💙💙💙
"has the wife made a decision yet?" madelyn asked derek.

"no, but i think she's leaning towards organ donation."
"how are you and meredith going?"
"not good. she doesn't want to go out with me."
"give her time. she'll come around. watch, one day you two will be married, live in this huge house with a beautiful view, and have three beautiful kids. give it time."
"if you say so." derek sighed.
"don't tell her i said that. she'll kill me. she's stronger then she looks."
"i won't. it's not like she talks to me anyway."
"stop being such a debbie downer. be a little more optimistic."
"mads, you ready to go home?" meredith asked, pulling her away from derek.
"are you two friends now or something?" she said in a hushed voice.
"yeah, you got a problem with it?"
"whatever." meredith rolled her eyes. they had made it to the parking
lot.
"whatever, mer? you mad at me or something because i have a friend? you won't even talk to him, and if you did, you would see that he is actually a really nice guy! give him a chance, mer!"
"i can't madelyn. he's my boss and it's inappropriate."
"so you won't even be his friend?"
"i can't. i kissed him in an elevator."
"when?"
"doesn't matter."
"yes, it does!"
"no, it doesn't! now get in the car."
madelyn walked to the front seat and opened the door, sitting in the passengers seat. meredith got into the drivers seat and the twins drove home in silence.
meredith unlocked the door, to find george and izzie going through their mother's boxes.
"are those my mother's surgical tapes?" madelyn pushed.
"we should watch the skin grafting one first." george said excitedly.

"where did all this stuff come from?" madelyn said, looking around the room at the pictures sitting on the shelves.
"oh, i unpacked some of your mother's things. i was upset, and when i'm upset, i like to nest." izzie explained.
madelyn walked out of the room and ran up the stairs, not wanting to be around her mother's things.
she ran into her room and fell onto her bed. madelyn took out her phone and went into contacts.
she scrolled to alex's name and clicked call. it rang once or twice before he picked up.
"hey." he answered.
"i'm not mad at you." madelyn quickly said.
"okay..?" alex answered.
"i would've done the same thing with burke, it was a smart move."
"thanks."
"can i, uh, take you up on your offer."
"uh, yeah. sure."
"i'll be over in ten."
"okay. see you soon."
"see ya."
madelyn ended the call and grabbed her backpack, stuffing clothes inside. she hung the straps on her shoulders and walked downstairs.
"where you going?" izzie asked.
"alex's. you guys are giving me a headache." she said before walking out the door.
madelyn took a cab to alex's apartment block. she went inside the building and rang the buzzer. she pressed a button and spoke into the mic.
"alex, it's me."
"here, i got you."
the door clicked open and madelyn made her way up the stairs to his apartment, knocking on his door.
the door swung open and madelyn walked inside.
"thanks again, alex. izzie and george are giving me anxiety."
"no problem, anytime." he smirked.
"where's your bathroom?"
"down the hall."
"thanks." madelyn walked into the washroom and started to strip her clothes, putting her comfy ones on, which consisted of shorts and a t-shirt.
she shoved her clothes into her bag and walked out of the washroom.
madelyn dropped her bag beside the couch, and walked into the kitchen with alex.
"want anything to drink?" he asked.
"waters fine, please." she answered. alex nodded and grabbed a glass from his cupboard and filled it with water, handing her the glass.
"it's nice that i have you, alex. i know mer and them, like, hate you or whatever, but i don't."
"you don't hate me?" alex asked, stepping closer to madelyn, their faces just inches apart.
"no, i don't hate you." she said.
alex lip met madelyn's, she had to hold the counter behind her for support.
the kids deepened when alex pulled her closer, outing his hand around her waist. madelyn's hands left the counter and wrapped around alex's neck.
his hands made their way to the hem of madelyn's shirt, and she didn't stop him as he removed it.
