*Knock* *Knock*

"My lady." Nathalia called out to Eurielle as she knocked on the door.

"Yes? Come in." Eurielle replied in a soft tone.

*Creak*

"Lady Brown wrote you a letter." Nathalia went straight to the point.

"Oh. Why?"

Nathalia walked towards Eurielle's bed and handed her a latter.

"Please read it, my lady." Nathalia bowed.

Eurielle opened the letter and started reading.

[Dearest Lady Deidamus,

I am much obliged to invite you for a boat outing today, just the two of us. I have prepared a present for you and I hope you meet up with me at the central lake this 2pm in the afternoon.

I would be blessed to have your presence.

Sincerely,

Abigail Brown]

"...."

"...."

People these days are so eager to invite Eurielle and give her presents.

Why were they bothering her so much?

"Nathalia."

"Yes, my lady."

"How would a person react if they are offended? What does it feel to be offended?" Eurielle curiously asked.

"When offended, people tend to be upset and angry. Feeling offended is like having needles pricked in your heart or brain." Nathalia set an analogy.

"So being offended hurts?"

"Something like that." Nathalia responded.

"Do you think I offended lady Brown?"

"What did my lady say to her to make her feel that way?"

"I simply asked her if she had an ugly heart. And her reaction.. she looked upset. Was I offensive?"

"A person wouldn't be offended if the answer of the question is being directed towards them." Nathalia answered neutrally.

"So Lady Brown has an ugly heart?"

Nathalia bowed in correspondence.

"Thank you for answering my confusion."

"It's nothing, my lady."

"Help me prepare my dress."

"Right away, my lady."

...

Eurielle cast her sight on the deep lake that was right beside her.

She stared at it mesmerically, as it was her first time seeing a lake.

Hues of blues and green reflected in the lake and it was beautiful to look at.

Eurielle and Abigail were riding a large boat and the two sat on the opposite of each other.

A rower was standing on the edge of the boat in order to make sure the boat continues to move.

"I'm glad that you made it here, Lady Eurielle." Abigail smiled at her while carrying a parasol.

"Thank you for the invitation."

"I should be the one thanking you. Ah, right. I have a present." Abigail took a box beside her and handed it to Eurielle.

"...."

"It's a gift for you. Open it."

Eurielle opened the cover and saw a bracelet with pure diamonds embedded on it.

"What is this?" It was the first time that Eurielle saw such thing.

"Oh my, you don't know what a bracelet is?" Abigail covered her mouth.

"Yes." Eurielle answered honestly.

Abigail didn't expect that Eurielle's response would be so shameless.

"Pft-"

"???" Eurielle tilted her head in confusion.

'So this is the prince's fiancé? She's nothing but a country bumpkin.' Abigail mockingly thought.

Abigail stood up from her seat and carefully strode closer to Eurielle and sat beside her.

"It's a diamond bracelet. Here, let me wear it for you." Abigail answered softly.

Eurielle noticed something about her.

From the very beginning before they rode the boat, Abigail's eyes were always directed towards the entrance of the park.

The lake was inside the park and Abigail kept looking at the gates like she was waiting for someone.

*Neigh*

The neighing of horses were heard ss the gates of the park opened.

At this moment, Abigail's eyes were held with expectation.

Eurielle looked at the newly arrived carriage and discovered that it was the prince's carriage.

The prince just got off from the carriage and looked like he was searching for someone.

Gabriel looked around and finally, he locked gazes with Abigail. He smiled when he saw her.

"???" Eurielle didn't know what's going on.

Abigail signaled something to the rower then suddenly, the boat started shaking.

"Kyah!" Abigail screamed as she stood up.

Eurielle, who was closer by the boat's edges, held on to the railings so she wouldn't fall.

"Lady Brown, please stay seated." Eurielle held Abigail's hand

She wondered why Abigail was standing the moment the boat started shaking.

"Let go of me!" Abigail threw off Eurielle's hand, but she didn't realize that she already pushed Eurielle.

"Lady Eurielle!" The prince who saw this scene shouted.

The boat's shaking stopped.

"Huh?" Abigail was surprised of the sudden happening.

'This.. this wasn't supposed to happen.' Abigail contemplated as she watched the whole event.

Before the prince could dive into the lake to save Eurielle, somebody else did it first.

...

"*Gasp* Hahh, good thing I followed her." Clayton panted as he carried Eurielle in his arms.

Since earlier, he was just tracking Eurielle only because he was bored. Hearing her pure thoughts made him feel better.

Clayton put her in dry land.

Eurielle wasn't breathing.

He immediately sealed off her lips and breathed air on it.

*Cough* *Cough!*

Eurielle coughed up water as soon as she felt air pressure pushing her throat.

She felt a hand patting on her back and she turned to see whose hand it was.

Her vision was still a bit blurry but she could see the person's bright and silver hair.

'An angel?'

"Pft- haha. You never fail to amuse me, my lady." Clayton laughed.

'Why is he laughing?'

"Thank you for saving me." Eurielle thanked regardless of the situation.

*Snap* With a snap of his finger, their clothes suddenly went dry.

'Magic?'

"That's better." Clayton muttered.

"Lady Eurielle!" The prince's image came running towards them.

"Are you alright?!" Gabriel knelt as he held Eurielle's shoulder to face him.

Clayton helped Eurielle get up and he took off his coat and covered Eurielle with it. "As your highness saw, my lady is not fine." Clayton smiled at him.

The prince eyed the coat that covered her.

"Who are you?" Gabriel wondered who the person was and questioned to himself why Clayton acted like that towards Eurielle.

"You're highness!" Abigail's voice rang throughout the whole area.

She ran towards the prince and the two hugged.

'I'm tired.' Eurielle sighed.

Clayton who heard this glared at the couple. 'Idiots.'

"?!?"

Eurielle gave Clayton a surprised look when he abruptly princess-carried her.

He mumbled

With that word, Eurielle felt this drowsiness and she immediately fell asleep.

Clayton smiled at the sleeping lady in his arms.

"We'll get going first, your highness."

"Where are you taking her?" Gabriel uttered with a hint of possessiveness.

"Your highness should take care of your lover first. Then, I'll get going."

With magic, Clayton together with Eurielle disappeared.

The prince was rendered speechless at his words.

"Take care of your lover first."

"Your highness, thank goodness you arrived." Abigail said, a bit nervous.

Gabriel looked at Abigail then deviated his gaze from her.

"Tsk."
