A huge , to everyone who has read this little story of mine, whether you just like to read or if you vote and/or comment. I appreciate every single one of you, and your comments often make my day ♥

This story is meant as a prequel novella to make readers interested in reading the Howerty series... but let's be honest, I think it kind of failed there and instead probably left readers more curious about Amelia's brothers lol I need to figure out how to fix that... I also have a few scenes I want to add where the transitions between scenes are off.

What did you think of the story? Is there anything you'd like to see added/changed?

Did you like Amelia and Preston?

If you liked the story, please consider leaving a tip on my Ko-fi (link in the comments and on my profile).

Well, I am currently visiting family for the next couple of weeks, but starting end of August or possibly early September, you will get the next Howerty universe novella. It will be John Osborne's story, and here is a little teaser:

In the meanwhile, if you haven't given them a chance yet, can I entice you into trying my Spellbound novels? They are set in a fantasy universe, but the romance is the main focus of each story. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but there is an overarching plot for the series (which isn't really there in the prequel).

is a Prequel Novella for the series. It has a princess vigilante butting heads with a nosy knight.

BRAITHE is leading a double life. The dutiful princess during the day, at night the masked vigilante fighting back against her parents' abuse of the kingdom's citizens. Disguised as a man to protect her identity, things get even more complicated when a handsome outsider catches her attention.

AURELIAN is not your typical damsel in distress. First of all, he's a man. Secondly, he's... actually exceedingly good at getting himself into sticky situations. A visitor in the kingdom, he finds himself embroiled in the ongoing struggles, though perhaps not in the sense he would have liked, getting kidnapped and all.

Now Braithe may need to save him from the very people she's been trying to help.

Shae, the High Queen of Erya, has one rule:

Not to fall in love with her husband.

Three years into their arranged marriage, Shae is still ignoring her attraction to the handsome king. A simple task when everyone knows the rumours of his love affair with the Sorceress Isobel; the woman he helped save the world, but was not allowed to marry.

Felix, the High King of Erya, has one goal:

To charm his wife.

When an attack forces the couple into forced proximity to reach home safely, Felix sees the opportunity to finally get close to the queen. Defeating the Dark Disciple and his followers was nothing compared to his most challenging task yet; convincing his wife to give him a chance.

King Baudwin of Breoch is a broken man. Crushed in the height of war, crowned in the face of treason and turmoil, he fights to save his kingdom. Hoping to stave off rebellion, he reluctantly agrees to marry the daughter of his main opposition. But travelling in disguise, he comes to realise his future bride may be even less inclined to marry than he is.

Rhiannon is hiding from the world. Haunted by the demons of her past, the last thing she needs is to be dragged from the shadows to marry a stranger. Refusing to play as a political pawn, she grudgingly agrees to leave the safety she's found in the Swamps of Lyndor to confront her parents. Against her better judgement, Rhiannon finds herself warming to the company of the knight escorting her.

Together, they must face their past. To survive the misery and destruction that have pervaded their worlds, they must learn to trust again. Not a simple task when their relationship is filled with lies and deception from the very start.

Want to try something completely different? What about a failing Cupid in this romcom-esque story about a Cupid who can't seem to make his latest match?

Eros thought he knew everything about love. Being a Cupid and all. But that was before he met Penelope...

For nearly a decade, he's tried-and failed-to match her and her true love, Trevor. If he doesn't make the match by the ten-year deadline, he faces demotion to a position that would mean horns. And his face really deserves better than to be marred by such unsightliness.

By now he's tried every trick in the book to get his unwilling targets to fall in love. Every meet-cute, every setup, every skill in his Cupid repertoire. Everything but dating Penelope himself...
